It's sad that is has to come to this point, watching amaizing zerg players having to pretty much all-in in some way or other the protoss player before they get the most broken unit in the game (colossus).

Basically the only time zerg players win is when protoss players play ridiculously greedy or plain a simply bad like in these series today, but if the protoss plays safe then zerg simply loses straigh up, because guess what happens if you don't kill a protoss player in the first 15 minutes of the game? Colossus based protoss armies roll over 200 zerg supply while losing 15-20 supply themselves, IF that.

I wonder how much longer will it take until they balance this out so I don't have to watch a Starcraft Legend like July having to all-in against a very average american Protoss player that doesn't even play full-time. Or even worst, watching IdrA losing to cruncher.

I used to think similarly to you (and still do to an extent) but its not near as bad as you make it out to be. Most of the zerg aggression we saw today wasn't really all in. It's just timings to ensure that P isn't being too greedy while trying to tech up and probe up (and maybe get upgrades too).

Zerg has definitely figured out some of the tools they have to help deal with colossus based armies, whether it be baneling drops, infestors with neural parasite + fungaling the gateway units, heavy muta style, or roach-hydra drop harassment - most of which exploit the immobility of the army

If a protoss plays extraordinarily safe, you can scout that out and react by expanding a bit faster and droning up big time to get yourself a nice economic lead going into the mid-late game.

I also think part of the reason you see heavy early-mid game aggression from zerg is 1. because a lot of protoss players haven't gotten good at holding it off just yet (they're getting there though) and 2. just because of the way zerg functions, it works out nicely to pump out drones early while P can't really push out, save for a few particular builds, and then use the reasonable economy you have to power out units and nothing else for a bit and then pressure

I just watched the VODs and god during the CrunCher vs qxc game could Gretorp and this other guy (clearly both Terran players) stop talking about Protoss imbalance? They were nagging on about how the Archon is so strong and this other guy (not Gretorp) started talking about how to nerf them. Kind of insane, I thought casters are supposed to be unbiased... Disappointing casting.

It was awesome to see iNcontroL say "gg wp and I wish you best luck in MLG and NASL" as he conceded the series.
Nothing but respect for Julyzerg.
Class act from iNcontroL.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

So basically July can do everything, and you make that seem like a bad thing?

What a bastard.

LOL you realize they were being humorous right? An ability to distinguish when someone is joking and when they aren't is pretty useful.

"Archons are ridiculously good. They are beastly!" and right after: "Terran mech is terrible".

I was watching and I could not tell if they where sarcastic or not. I thought they could be, because they where talking ludicrous. But I could not tell for sure. Maybe I'm just too used to people whining about everything in every direction.

More important that silly balance discussion (pfft, match ups shift over time? That can't be right!) is the Cruncher issue.
Namely, when did his play look both effective and hugely entertaining to watch. Seriously, Mass Gateway, Mass Upgrade, Mass Expand? That was AWESOME! So good to watch, especially seeing so many Archons, DTs and HTs dictating the way the match was played. Good stuff.

Seems the julyncontrol match was great, especially game 1. The rest not so much if I refer myself to the LR.

Btw NASL, why did you removed the racial stats from your site ? The sample was becoming relevant, this was interesting.

Can anyone say how or if there is a way of watching it where you aren't watching it with 5 seconds of video time per minute? Two or three weeks ago everything was usually relatively fine but in the last couple of days I could hardly ever watch. Most of the other streams usually work so I have no idea what I can do. BTW the sound doesnt stop it's just that you only see one to 3 seconds of moving pictures before it freezes for 20 seconds or so.
