Yes... one more step towards NYC becoming the western mecca of esports. (sadly, not likely, but one can dream)

Who are the 8 players who were invited?
So 8 players will be invited and the rest of the spots will be filled by an open signup that only costs 10 bucks? awesome! wcg rocks.

Is this the qualifier for the real WCG?
On May 26 2011 14:21 eqez wrote: Is this the qualifier for the real WCG? No this isn't a qualifier, just a standalone event

On May 26 2011 14:25 toast4 wrote:No this isn't a qualifier, just a standalone event $2000 and no tickets to the wcg finals. Random events have more money than that. Well hope it turns out nice anyway.

what random lan events have more money? - not to mention this has a FREE entry fee
I'm playing! Can't wait!!!!! :D
damn the main event is already full =/
Totally going to watch, TL needs an NYC meetup after day 1.

This is going to be my first live SC2 event!!! Can't wait!! Thinking about playing even, but I'm in a softball league on Saturday afternoons...ah the trouble of scheduling. At the very least, I'll be there on Sunday to observe. Gunna drag the GF along to show her what all the fuss is about! Sorry in advance if I BMed you on ladder!
This conflicts with Dreamhack. So I assuming those players won't be able to make it
I'm SO going, anyone planning a meet up?

So whose actually playing in this?
I have a slot but I probably can't make it anymore. If somebody wants to play and doesn't have a guaranteed spot pm me.
playing in the side tournament, anyone know what time the check-in for that one is?
Aw, too far from me.. but I'm glad that you guys are going to be streaming it. Who will the casters be? Or is it a surprise? :D
I'm going to try and make it out there! Hooray for an event in Manhattan.
Also, It's hilarious to me that they schedule this over Father's Day weekend, but I guess it's trouble to find a weekend when not much is happening.
Awww yea, so stoked for this weekend..... Looking to win the side event =D

If only I didn't have to worry about silly lodging problems haha, I'm really looking forward to getting rocked by one of you in the main event ^_^
Sitting at my desk at work and all I can think about is this event tomorrow! Can't wait!! I'm on the waiting list for the main event, anyone know if I signed up for the main event if I can be put in the side tourney if I don't get into the main? I could have sworn that I signed up for the side event, but it put me in the queue for the main event.
Anyone going out from Northern NJ? Going to be driving into the city in the AM and parking at my discounted work parking garage on 33rd street ($10 for up to 24 hours) and taking the 1 train up to Columbus Circle. Thought I would offer a ride if anyone is struggling to find a way into the city.
Anyway, can't wait for tomorrow and hoping I get placed in either one of the events.
Also, why doesn't NYC get more SC2 events? Feel like it would draw a huge crowd for an MLG like event just based on the amount of people that live in and around the area. Doesn't quite make sense, but maybe it is too expensive to host a tourney here? Just interested in finding out if there is any reason as to why they don't come around here too much.
Awesome event coming up in NYC, hope a lot of people show up!
Gl to those playing

well he knows its at least 3 letters at least.
Was too lazy to travel for the weekend would rather sit around sleep in and do nothing. I'm in pretty shitty shape sc2 wise these days too so I doubt I'd win.
hey guys just got home, even thought the tourney was full and I couldn't play as a backup big thanks to WCG and samsung for hosting the sweet event. Really awesome for the community would love to see another in the future!

pokebunny vs dice winners finals ,
ngry vs revillusion in losers, flashback vs alej (but alej no showed ???)

Why is the prize pool so small. I would be surprised if any of the korean pros would bother to show up. Then again I've never heard of WCG before. Is this considered to be a major SC2 tournament?
