He has sloppy mechanics at times, but hopefully he gets better and better. At the moment he's a fan favorite because of his history and perhaps a bit of the fact that he isn't the best right now, which makes him an underdog as well.


Yeah, it's pretty cool to root for somebody that's simultaneously a Legend and an underdog.

I'm not a Code A player but I never ever have more than 1-1.2k minerals floating unless I'm maxed out. What's with Boxer's macro? 2k + is like a whole 1 and a half minutes of not spending AT ALL.

boxer has never been one for good macro, his multitasking is his greatest weakness...his micro and strategies are what make up for it though

Like I said on the other page, Boxer's macro(or his timing, probably both) made the push weaker than it should have been, and it happened right as the mutalisks got out instead of, say, when the spire was halfway done. A lot was going right in setting that fight up as a victory for Sen until the actual engagement.


Boxer was floating minerals early game because he had to float his barracks back to his base. He was floating resources mid-game because his macro fell behind due to losing two barracks and not rebuilding enough new ones. I agree that Sen had a chance to come back because of this, but you probably noticed that Boxer pushed out BEFORE his production kicked in. Once his production kicked in there was a flood of units from his base to Sen's. Had Boxer waited, it might have been better or worse for him - it's pretty hard to say. The early push out had the advantage of catching Sen before his tech was up. A later push out would've been much larger.

And the fact that he understands showmanship, unlike most players who are afraid to take risks, Boxer cares more about exciting games than winning them, he just happens to win a good deal, too.

HE had just dropped down a Orbital command and a bunch of mules at the gold..... and he had the game won.. Not really slipping IMO

In any case, it's unfortunate that Sen was not able to get his revenge on Boxer - but nice try nonetheless. Feels to me like Sen still hasn't quite figured out the best way to approach Boxer's way of play, which is almost always based on early marine pressure (and marine marauder pressure in TvP). Boxer is quite predictable and I think HasuObs exploited that very well in today's TSL games. Sen needs to do the same.

You guys really need to take into account how much effort and time it takes to properly set up a seige tank line and constant leapfrogging them while spreading out your marines to deal with baneling splash.

I swear if he kept his money down you guys would be complaining about sloppy unit positioning and lack of unit spreading.

macroing in sc2 is a lot easier though, but sometimes he focuses too much on micro

well, as a top level pro you kind of have to do both

that's why the top terrans are ahead of boxer right now because they can do both reasonably well

But seriously, some players I just love to see win, like Boxer and FD, and I can't quite describe why. Maybe it's because they gave us a lot in their time. For that matter, I hope FD's time isn't over.
