I am expecting him to get angry and go for 2 timing pushes, whether it is four gate or otherwise. Thing is zerg doesn't have to prepare a timing attack to the same extent as Terran or Protoss: zerg sees greedy build and decides to make a bunch of units instead of drones. MC was just playing bad tbh, he had to know Ret can and will kill that if he sees it.

I reckon Ret being in the same team as Tyler helps in that respect. I don't think you can win 2 GSLs, Dreamhack and Copenhagen with risky plays. MC is just trying out new builds. It may be raw now but it will probably be further refined in future.

I like how he kept the cannon. For only 150 minerals Ret's expansion is isolated(can't defend well, no drone transfer) and he is contained for a bit, offering MC additional safety.

I am telling you, he now decided to give Ret some of his own medicine. He will kill Ret with a timing push.

Not to say that MC is not a great player, but part of the extra edge he has over other great players is his willingness to take risks and create the impression that you can't punish him for it. To win, players have to challenge that.
