If you hear the Korean commentators, no matter how lopsided the victory is, no matter how small the battle is (even if a probe kills an SCV) they get super excited about it. They don't act like it was just "Oh, Protosses 200/200 death ball just wiped Zerg's 160/200 lint ball, as expected." Even when players are OBVIOUSLY done, I don't want to hear "Yep, _______ has no way of coming back from this." Especially when the game ends up going on for another 20 minutes. It effectively ends the excitement of the game after that is said. The alternative would be "WOW ______ is really far behind, he's gunna need to do alot to come back from this!!!" and that would create more of a sense that there is still that comeback factor. That being said, I love iNcontroL and gretorp, so please don't take it the wrong way, just constructive criticism. You guys (Along with the NASL) are catching way too much unwarranted flak from the internetz about every little minute thing. <3 | ||

Perhaps the reason BW casters were able to always sound excited was because it was much easier to come back from a disadvantage. Yes, Morrow did come back from what in my opinion was a huge disadvantage but things like that aren't as common as they were in BW. While I sort of agree on the point that it is detrimental to 'call the game' early, I don't think it can be helped. Losing your third and being down twenty harvesters is no small feat to come back from and it's hard not to say something like 'Well he's doomed now'. Also I think it'd be even worse if they gave false hope every time someone found themselves in an unfavorable position. "Morrow lost his hatch and seven workers to 3 cannons…but he could definitely come back. Yeah, all he has to do is ninja expand three times and hope that his opponent decides to not only stay on one base but not go air….or build any other units for the remainder of the game." Week two day one was AMAZING. I honestly wasn't too interested in any of the players but the production and casting were great. Huge improvement over day one. How anyone could not have faith in the NASL after yesterday is beyond me. | ||
