Are you serious? There are pretty telltale signs of a 4 gate. First thing you can do is sneak in a drone to check how much energy is on the nexus and if/when the toss takes his 4th gas. If there are chronos being saved up, and the 4th gas still isn't up past 22 pop it's leaning heavily towards a 4gate. Next thing you can do is constantly check up his ramp to see his unit comp. If there are no sentries, a zealot and stalkers AND the core is being cbed then it's most definitely a 4gate. Third thing you can do is sneak an ovie in around 26 food to try and catch how many gates the toss has. You can also keep on checking with your ling for an expo. If there's still no expo at around 5:30-6:00 then it's probably a 4 gate.
Zergs will save up larva until they can confirm it's not a 4 gate. Because if you make drones past 22 vs a 4 gate, especially a korean style 4 gate, then it's super hard to hold. Sheth.... Got a third base early on. He gambled. It would've paid off if Huk hadn't 4 gated. He wasn't JUST being greedy but he was taking a huge gamble that would've paid off HUGE if huk hadn't 4 gated.
