Please talk about the games in this thread. If you feel the desire to rage about something, bottle it up inside you and lash out elsewhere. Thanks!

Kelly did just fine. She's not a perfect caster, but I'm really looking forward to her future casts as she improves.

There are no other free vods than the first set (beside someone recorded it illegally an send you an link). That´s because you should buy the ticket for watching the vods in hq, sorry.
(or was it the first set of every game? bit confused as I write it...)

I'm amazed about the level of discussion for today's cast. I haven't followed SC for long, but one has always heard about how nice and cool the SC community is, followed and made up of just cosy teddy bears that just love each other and all. Today's cast truly showed that that is so much bullshit. The core of 4chan seems like a better description.

Quoted for truth! The sheer level of pointless, immature, often sexist, and egotistical banter going on is only going to deter newcomers from wanting to participate in the starcraft community.

lol? You shouldn't say "one has always heard", but instead "I have always heard". Idk where you heard such bullshit but that's hilarious lol.
So cute...

You've got 88 posts; what the hell do you know?

Edit: Yes, I am implying that he probably hasn't followed the starcraft scene for very long.

So essentially you are asking us to link you to illegal VODs? It's 10 dollars. If you want to watch, buy it. Support esports.

nothing bothers me more than kellys immunity from criticism due to her race and gender. She was really really bad. Not because of her race, not because she's a girl. She was incredibly hard to understand when she spoke even a little faster than normal, and her "knowledge" that everyone thinks she has literally consists of "immortals counter roaches so protoss should win" or "roaches counter zealots" and "zerglings counter stalkers". I know we're supposed to keep it out of this thread but nobody else is.

I can't believe the tons of trash that have been dumped into this thread. What happened to TL???
Did anyone really expect Kelly to deliver like a seasoned caster even though this is only her first pro TV cast?
She did a good enough job imo. She is enthusiastic and tries to be entertaining. She knows enough about the game to be really good, she just needs some time to adapt.

Does anyone remember Tasteless when he first started casting the GOM BW events? That was pretty embarassing. But he improved drastically over time, and now most TL members would kill for the guy to cast their games.

Same for SuperDanielMan. His first casts were awful, and TL raged and screamed. But again, he got better fast, and the Tasteless/SDM duo became pretty popular.

What about John the translator? Remember his first interviews? They were pretty awkward. Look at John now! Flying solo, confident enough to tease Huk on his mistakes, making jokes, and loved by TL.

And the observer who took over Tasteless? How many TL members whined and complained during his first games?
Yet today, he is doing an excellent job and nobody complains any more.

Starting to see a pattern here? Give Kelly some time. She plays at a pretty decent level and she is paired with two experienced casters : she should be perfectly fine real soon.
I am convinced that when she has found her "style" of casting, many on TL will like her a lot.
And I personnally find it refreshing not to hear the same old worn out jokes by Tastosis. Kelly will allow them to find a new dynamic.

Now about the games, I am really glad Huk won convincingly. Even though he can do way better than what he showed today, the series was not even close. Once he gets used to playing in the booth and with that extra pressure, he will really be a strong contender for those Code S spots.

Go Hoodie Toss!

So true. I really really would like that all those haters gonna dissapear from this forum for a long time. I like her effort and i think she allready improved from game to game and is getting more comfortable. Sadly i couldn't watch it live but i'm kinda sad that the interviews are not in the vod's :/ are there going to be uploaded? or did i just miss them.

Interviews are in the Gomcam category.

I doubt he archived it, and I doubt I would want to listen to it. I tuned in long enough to hear them bashing Kelly, and that's just so not my scene. Plus, since there were occasional glimpses of the games being played it might get his account banned for rebroadcasting the games.

yeah their side commentary was childish and pathetic, sure it was funny at times but that was mostly the gifs they were posting. I normally find InControl to be very funny but this was just aimed the same person for way too long.

quotes from idra "Huks such a little loser" and other bashing of Huk. InControl doing his worn out impression of KellyMilkis for way too long.

I agree calls of racism and sexism can be used to deflect warranted criticism (and obviously Kelly can improve on a lot, as anyone would expect). I am NOT referring to that, I am referring to the actual, blatant immaturity and sexism rampant in much of TL.

I am a US-native, and white as white can be, and I had absolutely no trouble understanding her. Accents are not hard to adapt to, and as an international event, being unable to adapt to anything other than a Midwestern American accent is frankly silly. I have more trouble understanding some Americans from New Jersey than understanding her.

I think she displayed far more knowledge of the game than Tasteless did in his first games casting the GSL... so I don't know what you're talking about.

The BW forums and the SC2 forums here on TL have completely different cultures. Unless SKT1 is playing, most BW LR threads are 15-30 pages of discussions and actual live report about the game. The SC2 threads have 150+ pages, most of which is complaints about imba or the casters (if it's not Tastosis casting) or assorted garbage that is not related to live reporting. TL just doesn't have enough mods to ban these many people though the almost 6 pages of bans for this thread is nice to see.

It's always been like this. And it'll probably be a while before it slows down.

I'm read along with these threads while watching the VODs, to get that "live" experience.

70 pages in, and we're in game 3 of the first set, and 95% of the posts were making fun of someone's accent, 3% were people complaining about the first 95%, 2% were asking for illegal re-streams, and 1% has been talking about the goddamn games.

I think this is the first time Team Liquid has diminished my enjoyment of Starcraft. I thank the mods and admins for taking steps to ensure it's the last, as well. It's going to take a while to build up the prestige these white-robed idiots cost the site today.

Edit: Amusingly, after I posted this, I went back to the thread and saw everyone talking about baneling drops. I imagine that's when the mods did their magic, but I'm going to assume you all knew about this post in the future and wised up your attitude.

My biggest problem with today's matches wasn't Kelly, rather it was Tasteless not being used to having Artosis's role. We didn't get food counts or reports on important tech buildings/upgrades that we usually get. Kelly ended up seeing some important tech structures before Tastelss did (dark shrine, greater spire). She also ended up calling more of the upgrades, even without a dedicated computer.

I wonder if they'd be better off with Kelly on the dedicated computer where she can at least report upgrades/buildings and tasteless can stick to one role
