Together with ESL-TV i am organizing 4 Cups with a pricemoney of 100 Euro each and the winner of each tournament get an invite for the Finale on the cebit and thier you play for a Notebook which costs around 2000 Euro.
I hope you guys are up to play it and make it a good tournament and i can organize something like this again in future
You can sign up on this page and the system is the same like in the GO4SC2 Cups.
http://www.esl.eu/eu/sc2/xmg_series/
The whole tournament will be played on the European Server !
Already signed up players like Sjow, Satiini, Socke, DarKFoRcE, Naama, INsoleNCE, Tarson and some more and just for you .... Haypro and TLO will be at my place at this time and i think they will probably also play this cup if i ask them.
Hope you like that and i will cast this in german but i will ask someone to cast this in english too so that all of you are satisfied
//Dennis

sounds good if tlo and haypro don't play convince them to cast some games!
thanks for your effort; you enlarge eu esports scene quite well with your torunaments/cups
|
Take you get awesome prizes all the time. Thats huge!
|
This on the EU server? All the prices are in Euro but i haven't seen any mention of what server it's on. I'm assuming EU though.

Just under 1hour until we start this Some amazing names signed up!
TLO + haypro confirmed as playing :D
|
|
we (ragequit.tv) will start coverage in about 1 hour when i am home from work see you then.
|
Take just talked about the players in this cup. Really some great players, basically the majority of the known players in europe. Including TLO and Haypro.
This will be worth watching!
|
So cool to see TLO playing tournaments again

nice tourney
also this should be moved to tourneys

now TLO is co-casting - this should be more promoted because I think a lot of people might not click on a topic like "Starcraft II XMG Series organized by TaKeSeN", but if they knew TLO would both play and cast in this they would tune in immediately.

he won't play because he forgot to check in T___T
they only add streams that are embedded on TL i think.
|
TLO is such a noob
|
yes. it's depressing. i wanted to cast his stuff but now we have to be content with socke, mana darkforce, kas, nani, haypro and the likes. q_q

there wouldn't be any VLC/SMplayer links =)?

I think he's just here for the homestorycup.. not sure though.

It's so great to have TLO as a caster because he knows everything in all matchups! :D
|
Take and TLO just pointed this out on the German stream, very smart play from Haypro's Protoss opponent there, going for 3 gate DTs and when the overlord scouts the Twilight Council (and not the Dark Shrine), he chrono-boosted it even though it wasn't doing anything. I have not yet seen a lot of this kind of deception in Starcraft II, TLO says that's what the game needs more of, 100% agreed.
Awesome stream/games as always. Can NOT wait for Homestory Cup II to begin.

isn't there a upgrade animation?

Yeah there is, but it's not as noticeable as the chrono. Tricks like this don't work if they are used too often, although they are still nice.

Yes I think the Twilight Council has this uprising glow animation. Also this isn't really anything "superhighlevel". It's a simple mind trick, good but as a good player you should be suspect of everything

OMG how the fuck did Haypr0 not only manage to survive sick contain in close positions on LT, loosing his whole fucking base, just to end up 4 base vs 1 and Zerg roll
Haypr0 FIGHTING!!!!!!!!!!!!

pretty good LT game for Hapro. Thats what you do as macrozerg.
"We are close position? I dont think so!" lol

Well played by Haypro! Very exciting game.

I HOPE HayprO wins, it will motivate him.

This final will indeed be fun to watch. Haypro always goes for the macro. And Hasu normally doesnt do early agression either. His macro is not that good, but he has great unit control. I see epic big army clashes incoming.

Nice play by Haypro, is he going back to korea after the homestory cup?

haypro shoud watch out for early agression.
this will be a fun series to watch.

I'm hoping for long and nice games. Seen some really nice late games by Hasu in the past.

Nah, that's just the way it is ( might be a bug). You can see this pretty often if you watch a ZvT replay where T blocks the Z natural with an Ebay and cancels it, the unit lost tab will still show 125 ressources.
I hope HayPro wins, he seems to have underachieved in Korea a little, and I feel like winning some European tournaments might be the boost in confidence he needs.

Haypros ZvP seems really nice. He is super greedy while being careful. It's strange yet cool. I loved how he saw stargate and phoenixes then just went "cool let me drone harder". That was epic

Inca, Top, Huk and TLO (shortly after he returned from Korea) were doing bad in Dreamhack.
Kaspersky had an group phase before the Matches vs Korea and the player advanced mostly because of their vT matchup (because there were 2 terrans in each group).

Inca went out to Top and Top went out to the winner of the tournament, Naama. We can also factor in jetlag and the fact that both Top wasn't in the best of form (not even qualifying for GSL 2 & 3).
TLDR: Practicing seriously in a team environment and having your builds dismantled by crazy aggressive Koreans makes a huge difference.

That's only an example. People shouldn't base everything on one or two tournaments, that's what I'm saying.
I'm sure you will learn to stop cheese and all-ins better on Korean server, but that's it. Select is now a little bit longer in Korea and when he stayed in Europe for the Pokeridol tournament, he lost to Satinii, Kas, Sjow, TLO and Naniwa in different tournaments. The only TOP player he defeated was Haypro (except if you count elfi as a top player).
And before Korea he was one of the best Terrans in America.
And I remember a Interview where Jinro said that ret was doing pretty well in the first in-house placement matches.

Yeah I saw the match. The other guy was even telling Take that he won anyway. But he said that if anything, he lost because the 4 banshees were on the way. You should have won IMHO, but it wasn't a uber bad decision. Really bad manners from the other guy.
Too bad :/

@Fuzer:
Having watched that game on the stream, I have to agree with you. After Xlord disced, my first thought was pretty much: "Meh, game was already over anyways, Fuzer had clearly won". I guess I am not the only one who was suprised by the decision to have a regame.
Sucks for you, bro.

I stopped watching the stream to play ladder after XlorD dropped and I automatically assumed you'd receive an auto-win. The admins were probably biased. Shame.

Its all very well tournament organisers and admins talking about professional standards/behaviour from players, but that cuts both ways, IMO it was a unprofessional decision by the tournament admins.

Guys i'm not 100% certain on the conditions regarding the match, however the facts I do know is 1 admin made the decision without informing anyone else there had even been an issue. TLO picked random in the tournament. In the game vs Predy (TvT) he dropped (while being ahead) and then choosed T in the regame which he lost. So he is out.

Pretty normal for the smaller weekly cups in the first few rounds with such a huge grid. But Predy played really good in the regame!

Holy banana, how the hell did nani come back from this - that was really great, naama totally let it slip after he thought he had won.

That was an awesome game, very fun back and forth. Naama's initial push looked really good, was so sure Nani was screwed (then Naama had no siege lolol)
Tanks late game just evaporate when they are getting smashed up by chargelots, seriously those tank lines just went *boom*
|
I have no idea how Nani won that. I was thinking ''He should just gg'' at one point of the game. Awesome play.

Still, what won nani the game was the lack of vikings - I mean, why not just mass-produce vikings from 2 port reactor? Even after the first comeback-push there were exactly 2 colossi remaining. Everything else had evaporated. Just stack up on vikings and win? This was definitely naama's game to lose.

This. Having like 4 vikings at best is really quite a waste of resources, they just dont destroy the colossi fast enough.

Great play from nani, pushing from 3 gate robo and build a nexus behind the attack, not having to all-in.

That is certainly true ^^
Rather more one sided second game, have to hope for a Kas win vs Mana now because I don't really want a PvP final ><
|
Quite nice harass from Naama but man, he just got demolished when he tried to push at Nanis nat. Those tanks really don't seem that efficient in TvP, Naama had to retreat behind them instantly and they didn't get any chance to do real damage.

something along these lines

Anyway grats to Mana. But tbh PvP on this level seems to be just build order coin flip.

Even funnier is, that technicly I'd consider Mana's build more cheese-like - a build that gives you the win in PvP when unscouted and loses hard when scouted. While nani played as conservative and standard as it gets. Mana even went only 3 gate and immediately dropped the robo, knowing that he's dead against 4 gate anyways. Which is even more "cheesier", aka risky.

In pvp, nani does win 9/10 games when it isnt a 1base fest

Just noticed that they are playing the ICCup maps already (Round 2 and 3) ! Surely interesting to watch.

Artanis and myself will be covering the English once again this week! (We're both from GosuGamers, we're just having issues atm >.>). So tune in via Artanis[xp]

Is there an English restream for this? The Artanis one stops every few seconds for me.

ICCup maps looked nice. And nice games were played on Testbug.. But Artanis glitched on some of them.

Top 2 from each cup qualify for the offline final. It's in the same place as the ASUS Summer tournament, so why not?

I think you are confusing Assembley Summer with gamescom. ASUS ROG Tournament is at Assembley Summer in Finland. Gamescom is in Cologne where IEM Global Challange and the XMG Series Finals will take place.
Since Idra is in the American finals to qualify for IEM it's likley that he will be at gamescom anyway.

Holy shit White Ra.
Damn, he 7 pooled me? Ah whatever, cannon in my mineral line, I'm fine. While I'm at it, I'll build 4 gateways in his base and only make zealots.
This man is a mad scientist.
Edit: Ooo and the bracket says Goody beat Idra.
|
goody vs whitera. goody won the first game o_O
|
|
I am baffled how people are still losing to Goody lol, He must be doing a lot more harass with hellions / drops than he used to
|
|
|
White Ra with the Warp Prism special tactics again.
|
no turrets protecting the siegetanks =(
|
Goody <3 Now no Protoss left, Goody has good chances
|
After 2-3 bad months, Goody is really back at the top. Makes me happy
|
Goody's next opponent will be tough though (either Kas or Nerchio). The last times I saw him play againt them he always lost.
|
Hopefully Nerchio, GoOdy vs Kas TvT would probably be like 50 minutes per game.
|
Come on Nerchio! Love his Zerg style. Kas on the other hand would be terrible - 3 hour Bo3 TvT incoming. By the way the upper part of the bracket is waaaay worse skillwise compared to the lower one lol.
|
What the hell Goody. Beating Idra, then White-Ra, impressive.
Strelok Sjow Goody Nerchio Kas - some great players left in this tournament.
|
On July 13 2011 03:46 CosmoK wrote: Goody's next opponent will be tough though (either Kas or Nerchio). The last times I saw him play againt them he always lost.
white-ra and idra are not tough
|
Go goody! Loved watching him roll over IdrA.
nerchio vs kas. Last time they played nerchio cried like a little baby over non existent imbalance, was so damn childish. Gogo kas!
|
@DiaBoLuS: Sure but afterall it was a BO1 against Idra and White-Ra is not the most consistent player but Nerchio and Kas have shown very good performances over the last couple of weeks (or months) and they both beat Goody recently (in finals).
|
I don't really get terrans, Kas sees hive and spire and build and continues to pump 3 tanks at a time instead of vikings and then gets outnumbered by corrupter/broodlord. BL/infestor is though but thats exactly how he lost to nerchio at sunday...
|
vikings are terrible against brood lord/corruptor/infestor. Would like to see more terrans try and get ghosts up in time for the brood lords though, ghosts are the only thing that give me hope vs that composition, still, only a select few seem to get a lot of them.
|
idra started NP too late it seems
|
Nerchio, ragequits ) He is definetely the Euro-Idra)

Well, I think vikings are at least better against broodlords then tanks are.
|
|
Kas, such a solid player.
Too bad for Nerchio.
I feel whoever wins the game between Strelok and Sjow has a spot in the finals safe - Druzdil and Deathangel are not of the same calibre.
Too bad Goody and Kas can't both qualify. :/

:D
Especially because tanks are not only useless, but there's even a good chance that they kill all your marines while aiming for broodlings.
|
Vikings are pretty much useless as well Paper thin and die instantly to fungal + corruptor.
I don't like how terrans never seem to be prepared for brood lords and have a strategy in place to combat it, just seems like a panic mode dash to try and get a few vikings out but it's already too late by then. But what do I know
|
Kas playing too agressive. Sure he had an advantage but he should know that you cannot attack Goody^^
|
COME ON Goody:
Idra
White-Ra 1-0 vs Kas
Love those days
|
come on goody, time to be the top dog again!
|
If Kas had placed the tanks at his gold better, so that goody would not have been in range to shoot at the planetary than this map would've probably gone on for 40-50 mins :D
But he had to give up his gold or take a bad fight (running into goody siege) only because his tanks weren't placed perfectly.
|
