Tried DT cheese whilst MKP expanded and went for MMM standard. Lost. Game 2. Went 3 gate voidray because he saw the Terran wall-in. Was losing the encounters, ended up frustrasting MKP into a basetrade that he very narrowly lost. Game 3. Went DT cheese. MKP didnt scout it well enough. GG DT and low energy OC's. MC's has the strongest pregame decisions out of any player right now, and he abuses that fact. Also it doesnt hurt to have near perfect macro, and execution either. For you, just getting DTs counts as a cheese, which is IMO wrong, although it could backfire - yes. But you don't see MKP pulling out 3-5 SCVs and coming out with all of his MMM force as a cheese? What kind of twisted logic is that? Game 1: MC was expanding to his third base, and even if he got DTs, for a long time, he didn't even attack with them. It's not cheese at all. MKP came with his usual bullshit push with MMM and killed MC's third expansion, then just kept pressing. If anybody cheesed, it's MKP there. Or rather there was no cheese at all. Game 2: Yes, he went voidrays, but MKP yet again was leaving his base for an all-in attack, when MCs voidrays started attacking his base. So it ended up being base trade, but IMO MKP was doing the same thing - 1 base MMM push. It's just MC decided to respond to that with VRs. Game 3: He went for DTs not to cheese, but defend, yet again, you are making a mistake, IMO. MKP, yet again, attacked with all MMM he got+SCVs, DTs main purpose was to defend, and one of them was also attacking MKPs base. Where is cheese? If you noticed, in Games 1 and 3, all the fight was happening in MC's base. I think when people all-in/cheese, they attack somebody with everything they got. And if I have to choose who cheesed in the series, it's clearly MKP. | ||

Cheese is such a bad word anyway used by people who think only 30+ minute macro games are not cheese. Cheeses are pretty much hyper cannon rushing, 6 pooling, etc.. All-ins are not even cheese. Void Rays, Proxies, etc. are not cheese, they are semi All-ins not even complete all-ins. DTs come so late you can't call them cheese. That's like calling infestors cheese. | ||

To those above me calling voids and DTs cheese, all I have to say to you is LOL, go educate yourself on what cheese is. If those are cheese, so are baneling busts, fast mutalisks, and arguably every strategy in the game other than a diverse 200/200 army, since pretty much anything can be easily countered if scouted. Early mid-game MM pushes a la MKP are not cheese either. Building up a medium-sized force and then going to see if you can do some damage is very standard play. | ||
