Though Boxer lost, I really hope for him to get the Player of the Season - Award, because all of his games and strategies and especially his ability to micro are so worthwhile and watchable.

Laddering is no fun, and with games like this - super boring zerg play and mostly T1 terran play - the supposed highest level of the game is boring as hell to watch as well.

I guess my interest for the game is starting to get exhausted...

Tbh I don't see a problem with SC2 being boring. Sure, the it was almost the same strategy in every game, but if your enemy scv rushes you with marine would you go rush ultras or something? No, you would get whatever you can grab, lings roaches or whatever and try to fend him off. It's the strategy that is boring to watch, not the game itself imo.

As time passes, people will learn how to defend these cheese, and Blizzard will nerf the OP sides of the game and we will have perfect balance. The game is just 3 months after all, some things are still not set in stone, with thime it'll be better imo.

I mean zergbong is super boring to watch when he gets to do what he wants, like the game on scrap station. It's more a case of the gamedesign itself being boring, and it is starting to feel like the variety of what can be done in the game has already been seen. All we are left with is subtle changes in the metagame or whatever. The game might be interesting again five years from now, but to me it already feels dry and dull - especially to play... and that's a huge problem, because it's supposed to be fun.

Saying 'I told you so' to just about everyone I know who was watching GSL is extremely satisfying. The only surprise is that Foxer made it close, I had Nestea tipped to win since the RO16. If you think my smugness is a bit dickish, you should have heard the hilarious diatribe I endured about how Foxer's TvZ was unstoppable. No idea how you could be that blind.

I don't think you should be patting yourself on the back quite so hard. In my opinion we didn't see the best of BoxeR's TvZ in this series. But in the end NesTea is the winner regardless.

Patch 1.1.4 Notes

Balance changes:

Terran:
Mule now lasts 15 seconds longer.
Banshee build time reduced 10 seconds

Zerg:
Roach build time decreased 5 seconds
You now get 3 zerglings per egg

Protoss:
Race deleted from selection list.

Altho i see your irony 15 secons isnt even a complete mining circle =X

The word is either sarcasm or being facetious, sorry to go all grammar on you but the misuse of irony (primarily by Americans) fucking slays me.

You're not the only one.

Actually, "sarcasm/facetiousness" is a terrible definition of irony. Irony is best described as the superposition of two (or more) diametrically opposed ideas.

The "buff mules" is sarcasm, due to the idea that mules are already OP.

The irony is that his proposed "buff" wouldn't do jack shit.

Yeah, as a spectator I have to say that I've found SC2 to be pretty uninteresting on the whole. What drew me into this tournament was the crazy stuff we started seeing from BoxeR. I enjoyed watching the clan games the other day since they turned out to be pretty offbeat, but the only other player who I have a good time following is Cella since he makes his stream so much fun.

Edit: Oh, and aMeBa. He is TOO HANDSOME to not support.

GSL 2 was as enjoyable if not better than GSL 1. No complaints here, will be buying S3. GG NesTea.

Before wraping up of this GSL, i'd just say wow commentators are turning in such an important part of SC 2, first we had day9 saving MLG when bnet went down in finals, now Junkka spontaniously from the heart saying such a nice speach for global e sport community and all current and future players.
I'm really amazed, gj Junkka, keep pursuit and living your dreams, like you are now, we are all proud on you.

And about finals, well it was way closer then GSL 1, tho i'm sure there could be a litlle more "famous" names in it, even tho, obviously this two guys deserved to be in it.
Props to NesTea for managing to learn how to play vs Foxer agressive style, and for Foxer gj for what you show, there is whole future for you, you just started.

It is interesting that GL 3 is starting so soon, last train to catch for some of the pros, in pursuit S code, it will be more then fun, especialy first 3 rounds, that will determin it all.

Is the third one the last one before the "real" GSL starts then?

Yes, third and last GSL open championship, of 2010 year. From 2011 new system that players were ranking for is starting.

Hmm kinda interesting how things repeated, again 3 T and 1 Z in finals, again Z managing to win. Even tho i'm zerg player myself, and happy how things are going from fan point of view, you have to feel a litlle bit sorry for Toss players, how things go for them. Hopefully in GSL 3 one of them will stand up a bit stronger I mean, finals lose epicness for you, when there isn't your race to cheer for, no mather how great players play.

It really pains me to see Foxer still being referred to as Boxer. He is not Boxer. There is only one Boxer. He is either Clare, Ellenpage, Foxer/Fauxer or Optimus.

The games are way too short. Feels like every game is a semi-allin.

This is so stupid i just had to respond. So you want to turn irony into a synonym for sarcasm? cause that's exactly what that guy did. If we did this we would no longer have a word for irony, wouldn't that be kinda sad?

To be more on topic i enjoyed the finals, but i kinda wished there would have at least been one longer game with more macro and bigger fights but i guess boxer really didn't want that to happen which is understandable when you're up against a 14 hatch zerg opening.
