Anyway, here is my profile. Hey, I am PointyBagels, and have been PointyBagels for a long time now. I started playing Brood War in January or so only against friends, all of whom were better than me, later found iccup, where everyone was better than me. It's not like I was D-, I was rank E, it was terrible. Finally, when SC2 came out, I finally started winning some. My macro improved, to the point where I am fairly high in the gold league. I am 15 years old, and have not really gotten into gaming much before SC, but since a lot of my friends have, here I am. My first tournament was the RISING Cup 2, and I had a great time, so I decided I would do this. I think playing in the Rising Cup helped me not only by jut playing games, but opened me up to more strategic variety, so now I vary my strat pretty often, since repeating strategy does not work too well in BO3. I much prefer to simply outmacro my opponent than to rush, however don't be surprised if you see a 4 warpgate out of me, though i don't really consider that a rush. I started playing in the beta just a little bit, and was placed in silver. At first, I thought I should be bronze, but quickly learned enough to compete in silver. I bought the game in early August, and also got placed in silver then. I eventually made it to gold with the 4 warpgate push alone, surprisingly few silvers can defend it. Recently I think my macro has improved quite a bit, putting me a lot closer to plat. My Goal is to be Plat by the end of October and to make Diamond by the end of 2011. Pic to come soon.

You might think a league with 14 people is no fun. I find a league 2th 24 people, 5 of them missing all the time, to be no fun. Go organize your own tournament, deal with the no shows, and then see if your opinion changes.

Still nothing from Momo or Rtomas... They have until Sunday, Sep 19 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) . If I don't have anything from either or both of them confirming, they're out and the next people on the list get in. Unfortunately, however, I cannot extend the list, since we plan to do 2 Bo3's against each opponent, and 2 Bo3's per week per player, for 13 weeks. If we add more, that will either be more games per week, or more weeks, both of which I don't want, and neither do the other players. There will always be other rising cups (I believe Karliath is organizing another in a few weeks?), and new leagues form all the time. In fact, feel free to form your own. However, as much as I'd like to let you all in, it's just not logistically possible. In any case, I will send a confirmation to the people on the wait list, and give them 24 hours to respond, and go down the list until someone fills the spot, but momo and Rtomas still have their seats until tomorrow morning...

I can't make any "decisions," just suggestions. And Hayako, I think live casting would be a bit tough to organize. Can we make the profile a mandatory task too?

Hey, im Hayako "aka" Sanjay, and im currently a sixteen year old living in Canada. I spend a lot of my time of course playing video games , playing the guitar and tuba (dam right) and hanging out with friends! For the most part I played a lot of MMOs, including WoW and Silkroad online, and have never played an rts seriously until starcraft 2. When i first bought starcraft i was in the bronze league with a record of 5/25 ... :S, but i have fought my way up and currently in gold hoping to make Diamond one day! I hope to continue to participate in great events such as the RISING cup and league. I also hope to switch to Zerg one day, yet for this tournament i am going to continue to play terran. GL to all, and look forward to seeing you on the battle field ^^. P.S (duncan if i continue to make grammar mistakes I am sorry :p

![]() While I can definitely play, I don't know how well my time schedule would match others'. I usually play late at night. In addition, I don't know how much time I'll be able to invest into practicing specifically for the league. I might just have to go to every game with a semi-standard build and hope to macro myself to wins. I'm gonna test my recording tech again tonight. If things go better than last time, I may just withdraw and cast as many games as possible for the league. This would benefit the players more, and I get to participate in this great event without actually spending as much time. ![]() We'll see.

Well, it's whatever, man, but I can play most easily during work hours mon thru fri, and mon and wed evening I can stay up late. Weekends can be done, but they're a tad more difficult, as I have to convince my wife that it will be okay. ![]() In any case, should you decide to drop, you'll be sorely missed, but we'll understand, and you'll always be more than welcome to help flow hybrid and stoids (and maybe me?) cast as much as we can. I'm thinking aboutthis: for every Bo3, the two players agree upon a game that was the "best", or "most castworthy" from their 2-3 games, and then our most valiant attempt as casters to cast those games will be made. As for live casts, I doubt that will be easy to accomplish, what with the loose schedule, and besides, even if the caster and two players can agree to be online at the same time 3pm Wednesday the Whateverith of Blanktober, will there even be much of an audience at all? However, perhaps some big rivalries may occur, and we can agree to cast those games as they're played live, on say, a Friday evening or something, I don't know, and perhaps if any games have a high observer demand, setting up a live cast might be better in order to avoid lag issues... But, I do want the finals to be live-casted, if at all possible. In any case, think about it before you truly make the decision to leave, but should you do so, you're welcome to remain a contributor to the community. ~Duncan Idaho
