random seedings LOL

Its the first tournament. They say that afterwards the seeding is going to be decided by pro points which they hand out based on performance. So technically this probably will never happen again.

Tell that to machine's who's going to be behind in points for the rest of the season probably.

Luck of the draw. Such is life.

Watching the Halo 3 stream it's obvious why RTS's are so popular for watching. FPS's look ungodly boring, if only because you just see the game from one perspective. RTS casters being able to see the entire play field and what they want to when they want to helps a ton.

Halo pulls in HUGE numbers and CS has a huge community. Watch the finals of Halo and it'll be much more exciting. They aren't going to pay much attention to day 1 of competition when there is 2 more days to go. I always tune into Halo finals because its INTENSE. Crowd screaming just like in Korean BW games for every good shot. (Obviously not 1020130213012301 people like Korea BW, but its still intense)

I'll take your word for it. Visually it just looks ungodly boring. Again, I think it's just a perspective thing. It'd be akin to watching the SC2 casts only from the players perspective with the screen skipping around everywhere fast. It's just not a great way to watch a game, imho.

Are there casters for these FPS games? I don't hear any right now.

There are about 3 or so, they do not cast every game which is why I said tune into the finals. Halo games are best of 5 and I am sure there is just as many teams as Sc2, so casting every game would be impossible. Some of the best commentators are the Halo casters imo, they are extremely entertaining/funny

What options are you guys using for VLC? I can't get it to read the stream properly - do you actually tell it to Stream a different way vs Open Network Stream?
