Hi everyone,
For those who play on the North American servers, we are finally going to start our CraftCup tournaments. The first one will be happening August 19, 2010 - 21:00 UTC (check out the countdown here) and you will have a chance to win $20. The reason we're not offering much for the prize money is that there has not been enough time for signing up and the main purpose of this first tournament is in fact testing our new optimizations. So, I would like to ask everyone to please join and I challenge you to try to make the site go down
It is of course going to be more fun with more players joining so let everyone know about this FIRST CratCup tournament
P.S. I'm the web/interface designer behind the bitsPerBeat network, basically responsible for everything visual on our websites.

wait Where will this be happening?
Good to see the CraftCup back - you guys did an excellent job in beta!
Is thursdays going to be the normal timeslot from now on? or will it go back to saturdays like during Beta?
Thursday's a pretty hard day to participate in a tournament - I'm sure plenty of others would agree. Is there a chance that these might be moving to a weekend date every now and then?
From the picture it should be renamed the US craft cup.
Edit: nvm it is on the website.
Nice to see a weekly tournament start up.
This is going to be stupid but where do we sign up for it on the website because I can't find it.

Signed up. ^^
Interesting time though, it's at 3:30pm in Calgary, many people just getting back from work. Still nice to see some new weekly tournaments popping up in the NA server.

Of course we're going to move the future US tournaments for future events. This first tourney is just a quick one to start with BUT we still need lots of people to join to test our system. More prize money and a much more comfortable day/time will be used for our future weekly events.
I would LOVE to play this, but it's just a bad time for me lol. 5pm eastern (according to the countdown at least)?
I'll ask me boss "Dude, sc2 tournament, come on, let me go home at 2pm, i need to play some games before too!"
I actually really like that this is during the week. There are already so many other tournaments and events on the weekend that it is really crowded. The only issue I think this has is the time. If it was an 8 pm eastern, 5 pm pacific start it would allow people from both coasts to participate. Keep it during the weekdays CraftCup!
Damn, would love to play in this but GosuCoaching weekly is around the same time.
We simply couldn't wait 2 more days =) You are right when you are saying that during the week is not the perfect timing. I assure you this has basically technical reasons. In the near future we hope to establish our tournament on our old timeslot on Saturdays.
By the way: Mea culpa, I didnt have much time to follow other American tournaments lately. Is there any regular event happening on Saturdays already?
Same day as gosucoaching weekly :S
is the server fixed? because last time 500 players refreshing didnt do good at the webserver

That one is fixed, and also a cache has been installed to make F5 spamming less painful. We didnt get much sleep last days i can tell you.

Omg, it starts at the exact same time too? Planning mishap I suppose. I was really looking to play in both, now I gotta choose -.-

For those players with conflicting schedules, typically you can get two tournament games out of the way at the same time (downtime between rounds). I've done it before, just try to alternate so neither side is waiting long. Also, if you get eliminated earlier from one, you don't have to worry about it anymore.
Anyways, www.RAGEQUIT.tv is currently planning on casting this tournament, so hope to see some good players out there!
We will make it a little relaxed today and wont kick people off the tournament because of a little delay if they want to participate in the gosucoaching tournament as well.
I cant seem to find a list of participants, can anyone be kind enough to tell me of any noteworthy players in this cup?
Here you go:

Looks like Zelniq, Qxc, Silver, and a few other notables are participating. Short notice for the tournament (so not as many sign ups), and some of the best EU/NA players are away for the IEM.
Is it possible in the future to host these on days other tournaments aren't already scheduled on?

As said before, we have to test our whole sytem today due to technical reasons. We will be trying to set us up on our old slot on saturdays. We are sory that this cup ahppens parallel to gosucoaching.

OMG I just saw a beautiful nuke take out an army in Stalife vs Jimm.
Hooray! I've been waiting for you guys to return to US ^^
My compliments on the site running much better than last week!
how do I check in?
Edit: Don't tell me the countdown on the site was wrong... I saw I still had 6 hours so I went to take a nap and wake up an hour before it starts. Wake up. And it's already round 3. What the fuck.....
The site for uploading replay, reporting wins are very good. I can just ctrl + f to search for my name (unlike binary beast... unless there is a way) I'm not sure if there's a link to go back to the brackets after reporting though.

Lol, that sucks.
Otherwise I have to say the stream looks very good, no lag and good quality.
Lost in 3rd pre grid round. Least I don't have to play QXC like the guy who beat me does. Very nice system though. The way of uploading replays and reporting is SO easy.
Yep, really nice site, nicely organized. Excited for more.
Looks like great games coming up; I wish someone would restream in lower quality so I can watch them, though.

Yea, the checkin-in system and reporting is very nice.
Really smooth site. The message for when you get knocked out though is a bit awkward
You're out of running tournament...

are you sure you didn't accidentally go to the european version of the site? Their tournaments run at different times

You guys should make a new thread to advertise this, as I doubt many people are going to notice this...
