ZOTAC StarCraft II Cup is a weekly tournament organized by Freaks 4U Gaming, which had 16 StarCraft II Beta Cups. As the retail-phase has begun, the ZOTAC StarCraft Cup is back. The tournament has an easy page, where everybody with a European StarCraft II account can quickly sign-in and participate. The games are broadcasted in many different languages such as English and German Replays are released after each tournament.
Website: http://sc2eu.zotac-cup.com When: 14:00 CEST every Sunday Check in:one hour before the tournament starts Players: up to 512 Prize: 1st Place: 100 Euro Support: http://sc2eu.zotac-cup.com/de/cups/support FAQ: http://sc2eu.zotac-cup.com/de/statics/faq
The ZOTAC StarCraft II Europe tournament will be played in a "pool system" with high and low seeds until the quarter finals. Starting with the quarter-finals each round will then be played in a single elimination grid system. Quarter- and semifinal held in Best of three mode. The final will be best of five. Maps will be vetoed until the right set of possible maps is found.
During the tournament, the pool system will find the next available opponent automatically for the participant to minimize waiting times between the matches. A limited number of players receive high seeds in order to not eliminate each other before the final rounds. If a high seeded player loses his match, his opponent will inherit his high seed slot.

ZOTAC cup back once again! Get hype!
starts in about 7 hours! register guys!
ZOTAC and go4sc2 at the exact same time
This should be fixed, somehow ^^
cool stuff guys.
go4sc used to be on saturday idk why they moved to this unconvinient time:X
I wonder which tour the better players will choose. In Go4SC2 you can collect points to qualify to the monthly finals, so that would be an obvious choise, but you never know. I hope ESL moves Go4SC2 back to saturday so you can play both, that would be optimal, for me at least.
I really hope you will keep the op updated.

i believe glhf.tv is covering it starting in 15 mins (according to their site)
Looks like glhf.tv wont be covering it ... anyone knows who else gonna stream it?
Edit: Added source
link to that source? On their site they say their coverage starts at 8:30 pdt which is in 10 mins
glhf.tv cancelled their coverage.
glhf.tv was up past like 2am last night covering some west coast Canadian lan so it can only be expected ( 12+ hours of casting) im pretty sure
GLHF everyone who's still in the Cup! I got knocked out in the Ro1 but I sure did have a great time. Look forward to future installments of this cup.
Thanks for the tournament!
Where at? The entire site is in german unless theres somewhere you can change languages im missing

There are lots of streams, 3 German ones etc. But not a single english one. Anyone wanna hero up?

Yes, if anyone find a english stream, please do post. In the meantime I guess I'll try to understand some german.

Yea, its pretty suprising that the english coverage of tournaments is so poor (i.e them not being casted, not those being casted being done poorly) when so many games are covered in german, french and russian.
man German streams/casters are so boring
tell them to commentate in english
!!
Ups, wrong thread. Edited
As Zotac is German it s understandable that 3 out of 5 streams are in German, but WTF there are 2 more streams and none of them is english o.O
hmm i wud stream, but i dont have sc2, or know any of the guys running it, i could however use the stream that is german atm, in full screen it is full screened. and cast from there? anyone interested...

that german stream has a sick music playlist

So any admins wanna get on teh issue of Goody recieving a walkover over me? Yes i did play in both Go4Sc2 and Zotac but i asked him if he could wait and he didnt say anything then next thing i know i got a def lose.
Goody pretty much did not reply and waited less then 3 minutes after my previous match was finished before going for the W.O. and now zotac admins are ignoring me. Cause he is german i suppose.
Yep. Must be because he's German.
That obviously is the case.

wouldnt be the first time.

Wouldn't put it beneath morrow not to read the rules too carefully though.

give lucifron the $100 imo...

It was Morrow and he was playing on his own account so I wouldn't really consider it smurfing.

btw it was not smurfing, everybody knew it was MorroW, Gritzefisch belongs to our own staff and he was so kind to offer his checked-in account to MorroW, so he can play eventhough he was too late.

It's not just you, it's true. The Nordic countries have the most best players ATM. They have PCBangs, Clans, and a very e-sports friendly environment from what I've heard.

I'm not sure you can say Nordic countries. Finland and Norway don't have anyone. Denmark is not that much better either. (I'm assuming you mean SC2.)

i think its a bit of a two way street where bigger acceptance of the gaming culture and superior internet connections helped to create SK which in turn made esports generally more accepted. And of course Element is probably the biggest name in esports ever.

Rofl I thought NonY was playing but in reality Nani was =S. His force-fields are definitely up to nony level.
Terrible decision by admins in the Strelok vs Naniwa match. If battle.net goes down, it should be absolutely clear the game is over, otherwise it should be a regame.
what exactly happened i tuned in a little to late
naniwa could have killed that army with good forcefields. bad decision. no way that was 100%
What happened? Somebody please explain.
Wow, that was obviously a regame, but admins decided to hand the win to Strelok.
2 equal sized armies, players even in supply... the game was by no means over. Very strange decision.
On December 13 2010 04:37 Weavel wrote: What happened? Somebody please explain.
Bnet crashed, game was far from over, admins made a wrong decision and gave strelok the win cause they are morons and Strelok has that fancy Mouz clantag.
Poor nAni... but I guess he kinda deserves it. Karma Karma!
Incredible. First they decided for a rematch, then, because of Strelok's whines, admins changed their minds gave him the win over Naniwa.
And it was a 100% regame.
EU B.net went down with Strelok in a good but not overwhelmingly good position. They were both on one base almost mined out, but strelok had a CC flying towards his expansion. His army consisted of pure marines + medivacs and was near naniwa's ramp. Naniwa had no expo on the way, but had 650 minerals and an army of stalkers/4 sentries/3 void rays/zealots. Food wise naniwa was slightly ahead. His army composition wasn't ideal to deal with Strelok's, but he could have broken the contain with good micro/guardian shield and he also had 10 or so more probes, which he could have pulled to break the contain. Admins determined Strelok won the match, but only after initially saying it should be a regame and Strelok whining about it.
That has to be the most unfair ref decision yet in SC2, rediculous.
I bet the admins were stressed out or friends with strelok or something.
Syllogism basically describes the situation nicely. Just to add Strelok has a Raven in the mix not too sure on the mana. Nani definitely has a chance to break the contain. This is clearly not an overwhelming position. Its best for the replay to be posted for you to decide. The decision in favor of Strelok comes after a near 20 mins discussion. I'm not too happy about the decision either.
naniwa had a crapload of energy on his sentries too. That was a very messed up decision. We need save points Blizzard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
strelok would've had time to build 5 bunkers on his natural, and he wouldn't even have needed to.
http://screplays.com/replays/sleepiest/14252 Replay is here, uploading it for other peoples discussion, Streloks army was For sure in a horrible position and only one tank was sieged, if i did not disconnect i would for sure have won that fight with forcefields, But but... up for other peoples discussion.
i saw the rep and i cannot see why they did not make this a rematch..
sure it was a though spot but some mismicro by strelok and some good play by naniwaa could have easily won nani the game.
bad descision imo
Strelok wasn't winning that game at all and the disconnection wasn't anyone's fault. There was no clear advantage and discussing who was doing better is quite pointless since the upcoming fight just didn't happen.
Giving him the win cause he whined about the regame is horribly unfair. Also, referees should make decisions on their own following their ruleset, changing their first decision after listening to one player's opinion is totally unprofessional. That's not what a referee is supposed to do and you got to have close to zero self-esteem if you change your decision cause one of the involved parts was bitching about it..
On December 13 2010 05:03 Naniwaa wrote:http://screplays.com/replays/sleepiest/14252 Replay is here, uploading it for other peoples discussion, Streloks army was For sure in a horrible position and only one tank was sieged, if i did not disconnect i would for sure have won that fight with forcefields, But but... up for other peoples discussion.
It is a stretch to say that you would have won for sure. Strelok had the advantage since army sizes were somewhat similar, and Strelok only needed to defend to win.
However it was far from over and the match could very well have ended in either players favor so, should have been a regame, no doubt about it.
It should have been a regame. Strelok had poor sportsmanship. Admins had no spine. Bnet sucks.
I feel the admin's were influenced by Strelok/Bumblebee, because I see no way that Strelok could have been given the win - he hadnt won, even though he had a clear advantage. There is a difference between having a game and taking it.

Yes but regame would've been unfair to strelok because he had clear advantage. There were two bad options to choose from and the referee chose one (the better one imo). The real mistake here was the referee rushing to a decision so he had to change it after.
gotta give probs to Zotac for always having tournaments running, really great effort !
I loath nani and his manners.
But that game wasn't totally over... Should have been regame.
I think that was a strange decision. They were even in supply, yes strelok had a bit of advantage but with forcefields you never know and the game was not by any means over.
Then again, I guess it's karma
no no is not karma! Naniwa is mannered now, the evil spirit(old naniwa) is possessing strelok now!!
but seriously it should have been regame for sure, some good forcefields could have pwned those marines easily. Very very bad decision by zotac admins and bad sportsmanship by strelok. Zotac should apologize for their unproffesional decision.
On December 13 2010 05:46 SmoKim wrote: gotta give probs to Zotac for always having tournaments running, really great effort !
I second that notion!
Refusing to regame should be a forfeit. Admins shouldn't give in to player whining, sets a bad precedent
Admins caved to Strelok's childish tantrum instead of DQing him, very disappointing.
Was made worse by mana's biased trash talk.
Thanks Martijn, you handled yourself well in a difficult situation.
Ones truly at fault were blizzard for designing the architecture as is, now we're dependent on bnet. C'est la vie, things like this are going to happen hundreds of times in the next 5 years.
