The atmosphere is missing. + the maincasters didnt cast from the main stage. huge minus. NASL Finals weakpoints: strange seedings. Soundproblems. and god - we dont need 2 hour breaks between bo3s. Everything else was ok though, the games itself were great - especially Sen-MC and MC-Puma A word to "HomestoryCupIII": Its simply different, you cannot cmopare it to the others. it clearly has its weaknesses as well, especially some casts... This is a near perfect breakdown in my opinion. Well done. I do give a little more credit to NASL though. That was their first live event, and once they work out some of the kinks from the lack of experience, they have the potential to blow DreamHack and MLG out of the water. Only time will tell.

Otherwise I would probably have voted for Dreamhack summer if the poll said 'NASL'. [EDIT] I am a noob. Just realized 'NASL finals' was the name of the event. Should have voted for DH.

Anyway, personally I like MLG the most purely because of the crowd; they were going nuts and MLG were smart enough to show that to the audience at home.

MLG was flawless. Generally at most 15 minutes between games, great variety, incredibly good production value, and a greater crowd presence. With MLG the misses knew that I would be setting the alarm for 3am, and she wouldn't be able to get sense out of me until around mid-day. With NASL, she still had an hour with me, then nothing. Its not fair on her to get her hopes up.

Why? MLG Columbus was a nice event but was let down by several issues such as the way the streaming system was designed, while much better than the Octoshape crap they used last time around, overly frequent commercial breaks, some of the most annoying commercials ever (i.e. the "Get real" one) and the overly large amount of hype the event got which the event didn't actually meet. It also left me questioning the planned league exchange program and whether it was actually a fair exchange, as both the GSL and MLG tournaments were pretty damn vastly different. I mean only winning MLG will actually get you an easily loseable Code S spot whereas placing 2nd - 4th will get you a Code A spot, also hard to obtain, easy to lose and quite frankly not worth the money even if GoMTV will cover living expenses and travel costs. The North American Star League was great when it actually got to the Grand Finals, and even then I found the decision to have iNcontroL and Gretorp cast the final series to be questionable considering Tasteless, Artosis and Day[9] are fan favourite casters and probably the most experienced in that field. However, the duo actually pulled through and made the final 7 games a very enjoyable experience. Also, my experience of watching the NASL has been spoiled somewhat both by the schedule which either involves me having to wait until 3am GMT to watch regular games or wait til the restream at 6pm GMT and either have the results spoiled to me via looking at the NASL site directly to watch the stream or otherwise. Also, I have questioned paying the $25 needed to watch the stream in anything that is 480p or above, or watch VODs, especially since many have complained that VODs simply aren't working. However, I appreciate it when tournaments release their replays for future analysis, casting and viewing. Both Major League Gaming and Dreamhack have done this whereas the NASL and GSL have outright refused to do so. Also, at least MLG and Dreamhack are making their VODs free with advertising, whereas to play, whereas with the GSL and NASL, you must have a premium season pass. Hence, I am afraid to say that because of all of these factors, Dreamhack is obviously my choice with MLG as a close second.

I guess DreamHuk(lol) edges out the other two, due to fantastic games and casting, which is basically what I watch for. MLG had Tastosis, whis is a HUGE plus for me, but a lot of the games were lackluster, imo, and extended series is such a weird fucking rule to use. NASL was so weird and awkward most of the time, so I found it hard to get into the mood. The crazy long player intros, the super-awkward model girl interviewing people and so on greatly annoyed me. Also, the fact that Gretorp and Incontrol casted the finals with Tastosis (casted the bronze match) and Day[9], just doing nothing, was really disappointing. I'm not going to say that they didn't deserve it, as they casted the whole season and yadda-yadda, but NASL should have gone with the fan favorites, imo. Would have surely been more exciting to me. To summarize (tl;dr): 1: HSC3 2: DH:S 3/4: MLG/NASL

1. Columbus = Most excitement/Games/eSports Drama ^^ 2.Dream Hack = Great overall. 3.NASL Finals = too much hiccups, but fantastic Finals. Might of been the best series I have ever seen. 4.HSC3 = Just not enough good games, PvP semi-finals and finals, Not that much koreans. I won't be surprised if Europeans vote for the european tourneys and NA picks MLG.
