I believe that the luck factor is still higher than the skill factor in these qualifiers. everyone of those are likely to qualify skillwise, but the brackets decide...

however, I voted for ret. not because he comes up with fancy unbeatable strats, but because his fundamentals seem to be so solid. same goes for jinro and haypro imo.

Ret has a style that would probably work against the Korean aggression playstyle. Maybe also HuK if he does put more into winning matches than winning the crowds

If he has a chance to win 86,000$ I don't think he will give two shits about pleasing the crowd and just focus on the win. HE usually tries to please the crowd when he doesnt feel he can win

Jos de Kroon is the man and I think he'll definitely qualify.

I want to see HayprO make it. He is such a solid player. He has gotten really close both times to qualifying (knocked out on the last round of qualifying I believe).

I think HuK is going to practice in his sleep for this tournament, so I would be shocked if he didn't qualify.

Jinro has proven that he is superior to everyone on this list at MLG Dallas in convincing fashion. Not to mention he will have had another extra week of practice in the TL-oGs house going into it, so I think he has a good shot this time.

I really want to see how InControL does. I am willing to bet that he is going to go all out to finally show what he is capable of. He has a TON of RTS knowledge and genius. If he gets going in pre-lims, I could see him qualifying. He probably has the most motivation out of anyone to qualify. Best of luck to you sir, you definitely have it in you to be able to make the GSL.

Kiwikaki has my vote, he is smart and innovative. Not afraid to lose an arm or a leg, so to speak, in order to win the whole game.

The thing is he has qualified before so if you did vote for him you would have had 0 chance of voting correctly.

With (T)Jinro's showing at MLG Dallas it should be obvious that it's him. (P)HuK's PvZ is not even close to top level and unless he improves that dramatically he will have a hard time and (Z)ret can get ZvZ and that is well... ZvZ. (T)SeleCt needs to get better vs zerg. (P)KiWiKaKi might actually have a bigger chance than most of these because of his abusive play. (Z)iNcontroL is more solid than anyone here knows. been studying his replays and he has strong overall play which he mixes up with good cheese. As much as I love and root for (Z)HayprO as a swede he hasn't impressed yet. But he has some solid training in korea so he should have a good chance.

My list would look something like this:
1: (T)Jinro
2: (Z)ret
3: (Z)iNcontroL
4: (Z)HayprO
5: (P)KiWiKaKi
6: (P)HuK
7: (T)SeleCt

The reason (P)HuK and (T)SeleCt is last for me is that they have painfully obvious weak matchups where they seem to approach the matchup itself wrong. If they can rectify this then they are top contenders obviously. More over I think (P)HuKs strong matchup (PvT) has a style that works better on koreans than (T)SeleCts rax heavy style TvP. Also training with oGs gives me confidence in both (Z)HayprO and (T)Jinro.

voted ret.
I guess he has the best mechanics of these players and he also has a lot of experience.
Also he is a zerg player and zergs are doing pretty well atm.
I think Huk would have a chance, too but not with the current patch. Korean top Terrans are too strong for him I would guess.

Other than that I think Jinro may have a good chance to qualify. I dont know Select's play enough to judge him.

Anyways I am totally excited about qualifiers and hope that as many foreigners as possible will qualify!!

I'd be surprised if Select doesn't qualify, and somewhat surprised if ret doesn't. Maybe one other person on the list will make it too. I think people in this poll are being way too short-term results oriented about Jinro. He's obviously not bad, but watch that Dallas set against ret and tell me who was the better player, results aside.
Of course, you only live one life, and you make all your mistakes, and learn what not to do, and that’s the end of you.

Jinro - Very solid all around. Solid builds, good macro, good decision making. He's like ice man in top gun, playing very solid until the opponent makes a mistake and then strikes. The koreans playing professionally seldom make mistakes though. He needs to dictate the game and force opportunities to happen.
KiWiKaKi - He plays very korean with aggressive and creative timing builds. Therefore he shouldn't have a hard time adapting to the korean metagame. The other side of the coin is that the koreans are more used to his kind of play style and be better prepared for it that the non-koreans he's been tearing up.
HayprO - A great player, I can't recall seeing any game of him really being outplayed. What I have seen though, is him losing lots games in which he was clearly ahead due to poor decision making. He needs to find some calm in his play.
Ret - I really feel he's improving his game piece by piece every time i watch him. He's constantly improving and his full potential isn't reached by far. Though I still feel like he's still playing with the sc 1 zerg mentality, as in "Imma gonna take the whole map, get absolute map control and starve him out". I'm not so sure that works in sc2.
HuK - I think he is the best player on the list. Solid without being predicable. His biggest weakness, as I see it, is that he's very rigid in his play style. Like he commits to one strategy and can't really transition out if it if it gets countered. This is most obvious in his pvz where you really need to be able to punish them if they're being to greedy.
I don't really feel like I have enough data on iNcontrol or Select to comment on them.
