On Friday the final group of the EVER OSL was sorted out and we now have our 8 quarter-finalists. Coming into Friday's action Best had already mauled his way through NaDa, Janbi, and Stork, so it was up to one of these three to meekly limp their way through and join him.
In a battle of teammates JangBi just asserted himself as the top dog in the Samsung house. Somehow he managed to have more zealots the entire game despite the fact that he proxy gated inside Stork's main and was fighting both probes and zealots. A true clinic of zealot play.
7 minutes into that video NaDa mercilessly sent two marines into 7 goons in order to save his tank. Karma is a bitch. With NaDa's first push crushed, JangBi was free to expand and mass relentlessly into the midgame. NaDa wasn't able to get an army out of his chokes to secure a new base until JangBi had half the map. Uninspiring.
The next round matchups are set, and while Plexa and I will write a full preview this week, here is a sneak peak.
Game 1 of 3
Flash < Troy > Luxury With 5 protoss for Flash to feast on, drawing Luxury is a bit of an enigma. I mean, he is going to have to crush him with marine medic instead of tank goliath. HOW WILL HE COPE?
BeSt < Hwarangdo > Much Best is a monster. Period. Much... well lets put it this way. Say "Much, OSL Champion" out loud. Does it sound funny? I think you have your answer.
July vs Rock circa 2005. I believe in mice made of gold.
BackHo < Othello > JangBi JangBi snuck in by the (non-existent) hair on his chinny-chin-chin, but his draw is about as fortunate as it could be. That being said, BackHo murdered his way through Much and Bisu so flip a coin here.

He'll probably just crush him with tank goliath anyways.
Backho defeated Much, Bisu and Kal (2-0) lately. These guys may not be PvP kings, but neither is JangBi. I think we will have a cheese fest here, fairly bad games, with BackHo somehow coming out on top. Lecaf ftw in all tourneys.

Go fuck yourself. I was asking why they didn't include a longer explanation of the games ahead, and just hold off the post to later so they could include everything. I was not trolling, I was not pissed. Prick.

better to have previews closer to the time rather than ridiculously in advance
There are no brackets this seasons (neither the OSL nor the MSL has one yet)...
Does this mean that the winner of Flash vs Luxury will meet the winner of Best vs Much and that the winner of July vs Rock will meet the winner of BackHo vs Jangbi in the semifinals?
If so, I truly wish July defeats rock! This way, there would be no mirror match in the semifinals! ...and it would be so nice to see JulyZerg in an OSL semifinal! (sorry Rock, I don't know you
-Flash vs Luxury. Flash will steamroll over Luxury. Not that he sucks or anything, but Flash is on another level right now. -Best vs Much. I really hope GrandpaToss schools the youngster, but Best is in great shape. Much is surviving in both MSL/OSL and maybe this could take a toll on his time to prepare for mu's. Let's hope not. For the sake of the Sacred Heart. -July vs Rock. They both need to win this. July to have a better shot of becoming his former self, and Rock to proof that he is more than just a decent toss with ugly micro who wanders from time to time in the big leagues with no real hope of achieving anything. -BackHo vs Jangbi. BackHo has shown some solid play. Jangbi has been showing awesome solid play. Janbi should take this, but let's see if BackHo has still some hidden card up his sleeve.

I don't really count on Best to lose though. He's been playing really well. But then again, Much's games against FBH were amazing. Much is so inconsistent it's hard to imagine him bringing his A game against Best of all people.
I just watched the Jangbi versus Stork game. Stork scouted it and everything...what a one-sided beating.

Much faces free in the MSL. He only has to practice PvP for now. Anyway, I think Best's PvP has no match now. Even though Much's game vs Bisu was great, I think Best will take it. But who knows?

Agree.
July Fighting!
Call me noob, but if BackHo's pulling so many upsets (including a minor one against Kal on the GOM tourney) maybe he deserves a little credit?
oh and lol yes Flash, go metal versus Luxury anyways. XD

OSL and MSL have different map pools except for Othello, and that map won't even coincide for the next weeks. So him being in both OSL and MSL will be a determining factor in his preparation for his games. Much is on a roll. Best chocked in the Ace game. Damn it, GranpaToss will take this.

Yeah exactly. Lux has great ZvT and Flash's vZ is occasionally spotty. I still think Flash will win, but to not expect a possible upset is being naive
Well, no. Flash has increased in vz, though I don't deny its his weakest matchup, and Luxury is probably around being an equal with Flash. The reason it switches from being a tight series, possibly a defeat for Flash, into a 3-0 rape is the maps. I don't think Luxury can overcome the Flash imbalance, AND the map imbalance. If it was any other season, I would give Luxury strong consideration.
