I think I'm not the only one who thought Happy was definitely out when I saw those Colossi barreling down his natural. Way to get to the round of 16, Happy! LGIM hwaiting! =D

I've never been more happy to see a Terran win in my life.
Die elephants, die!

(honestly rain is major scary, but he needs some losses because it's getting ridiculous!)

So the saying use to be never underestimate MVP and count him out.

If things keep going like they have been the last few months, by the end of the year it is going to never underestimate any IM player or count them out.

You have no idea how ridiculously hard it was not to make the whole article a play on the lyrics. <3

You have no idea how disappointed I am that you didn't.

Big points for the Garbage reference though.

very cool to see that even the koreans like a map made by foreign guys (ESV i think?) the best. cloud kingdom seems like the best choice atm.

Zerg qualified three out of five for round of sixteen, Protoss three out of six, Terran two out of five.
Terran had an overall map score of 16-20, Protoss 21-18, and Zerg 15-14.
The overall matchups ended up with TvP at 9-10, TvZ at 3-7 and PvZ at 8-6.

so you're telling me aside from the 1 terran that should have qualified, the groups were completely balanced?

You can't even say that. 8 is not divisible by 3 so that's the closest you can get.

so sad for byun. he was probably the best player last season till his huge blunder vs seed with the indicisive scv pull/pullback. he was so good last season, how he destroyed nestea and how he played overall was just a joy... now this ;(

I love those stats near the end! 14-6 is actually a surprisingly low winrate after winning the first game in a bo3 though. Assuming both players are equally skilled, there's a default 75% chance to win either game after that + the third map is always picked by the winner of the first game.

Anyway, I'm glad it seems rather balanced now. Maybe TvZ, but since it's 4-7 (MKP won 2 against Jaedong, 1 against Curious & Yoda won once against Symbol) and Symbol going 1-4 it's not really a big deal

Great write up and I really liked those facts of the first week, they are very interesting. I am glad that Rain made it through he is a really good toss he can play both macro games and short ones and defend cheese. Watch out people he could be the first Kespa GSL winner! but not this season me thinks.

Totally agree with this, I have been preaching and arguing with everyone on live streams that Byun is one of the strongest Terrans there is. But now he made me put my foot in my mouth.
