HOYL FUCKING SHIT IT'S REALLY HAPPENING.

:DDDD So happy, can't wait to see the SC1 pros in a year or so in SC2.

Flash v Effort, and look at their macro. They never miss a beat, cept I think at the end Flash does and he needs to add more raxes, but for 98% of the game both of them, phenomenal play. Can't wait to see these guys with time :D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if Flash needed more raxes, he might have, but his biggest misstake was not getting enough tanks. Tanks are the key to zerg wave play. He could probably afforded to have put down 4-6 bunkers at the front as well.

Still though, that match was actually really nice, which isn't something that could be said about most of the other matches.

Also, how much I'd even want to join the protoss imba train, this is at least no show of that, it simply shows that terrans needs to know how to do TvP endgame to have a chance, meanwhile PvT endgame is really straightforward and thus maybe more easy to learn.

He tried to out macro Effort and that simply isn't feasible in TvZ unless you got for the Factory All-in before Broodlords. He went for a marine opening and didn't know how to exploit it and lost.

Flash went for a fast 3OC build that a lot of Korean Terrans have been pulling out, but Flash didn't pressure AT ALL, he literally only had 1 rax by the time he was building his 3rd OC. Once Effort scouted it, he just shot straight up to 80 drones, 4 bases, and fast upgrades, and got all the tech buildings he needed. It was over by then.
¯\_(シ)_/¯

This is absolutely fantastic, to hungover to take anything seriously, but when I am no longer hungover, I am reading all of this. Thanks for trying to bridge the BW and SC2 gap
The only way to attack structure is with chaos.

OMG... just going to their youtube channel to watch all these super pros play Starcraft 2 for real.... JD playing SC2... wanna cry XD
In SC1, ZvZ was Rock-Paper-Scissors... unless JaeDong was playing, then it was Rock-Paper-Scissors-JD, and JD beats all of them.

These BW players quite clearly don't yet have any intuition for SC2. The games look like they're what would happen if you had someone play a few games in the beta and then told them to play a game now, umpteen patches later and with wildly different maps. Very frequent throwing away of armies and misuses of advantages, with an embarassing amount of 1-A siyndrome going on (this strikes me as the oddest; aren't they used to commanding units 12 at a time anyway?).

Seriously, I think most Diamond players on NA could have smashed the play they showed on this first day. A Zerg player moving his undetected burrowed roach ball away from the protoss stalker ball it was on directly underneath of, a Terran player running his whole army as one unit up a ramp, a Protoss letting his Zealots charge in one at a time through a narrow path to get kited to death, it was all painful to watch.

Presumably this will get better over time - in principle they already have all the requisite mechanical skills and just need to learn the basics of the game that even platinum NA players understand.

You didn't play the beta. :p Because they were all super greedy...
I feel like we are watching players with an insane macro and micro, but who don't know enough at the moment.

Jaedong, Effort and Flash were really impressive at Starcraft 2, but they just did some stupid mistakes.
Flash had a split and a macro as good as MKP and Jaedong made a great game where he was close to win even without knowing how to counter his opponent push. Effort just plaied perfectly but he had no realy pressure in front (even if I'm sure he can handle any pressure).

How come in the liquid bets it says Cj won? From what I remember, Lizzy (KT) crushed Effort (Cj) in the ace match..?

Edit: Are we only counting the bo3 SC2 match? lol. that's pretty lame.
Mmm, what to watch.
