There isn't a lot of information around for this, considering it must be starting fairly soon.

JBright, gonna be in the IRC for this? I'll be up.

Redemption tournament for CLG.eu. Maybe.
|
This seems like something I'd like to watch, however I cant for my life see when it will start?
|
strange that its sa-mo instead of fr-su but whatever if the finals are promising to be good i might take monday off of university^^ although at the time of the granfinals i should be homeanyways. gogo m5 and clg.eu

wait a few minutes ago this page told me it started in like an hour. now it says it's in 30 hours. what's going on

19:00 CEST for LoL, it's in the head post ;o.
|
I wonder why there starting the LoL tournament so late. Yes its the open qualifier but with the lenght of matches there easily going to be at it untill 1am and then the next day it starts again 9 hours later. Kinda harsh considering they could just start the open before 4pm Oo

Im here to watch froggen annihilate the BYOC qualification and then take the tourney

As strong Wickd and the rest of clg.eu are super skilled players it's currently really "Froggen and the Boyz" instead of Clg.eu

CLG seems to start playing now. Snoopeh even streaming: http://clgaming.net/snoopeh/
Its only BYOC against amateur teams though, not much to expect there.

The schedule in the OP may be off since the DH stream says that the BYOC semis and finals will be starting in around an hour. It would be great if someone who's at DH can update us on the status of the tournament.

Ugh. Edit post again.
This link is how I get to the BYOC bracket. I can find the info and teams from the link in the OP, but not the bracket for some reason. Maybe I'm just dumb and can't find it in the OP's links. Edit 1 billion: OP removed the link that confused me, the link still in the OP works great now, thanks!

From what I heard on Snoopie's Stream, he was using a mod to the game file to let him zoom out the screen to 2-3x the normal distance. Something about champ vision too, didn't catch all of it.

Yeah, thanks for your link. The original one I had was from a really old DH post so they must have changed it without updating their site.
Some teams are playing against Rioters right now but I'm not sure if it's streamed.

I feel this "let's show the audience while nothing is going on"-thing isn't exactly working in Riots favor. After having one of those "CANT LOOK AWAY SO HORRIBLE OMG"-cases I luckily pressed print screen to capture it for everyone:

It's more like SK didn't show up to the tournament. Ocelot is there but I don't know about the rest of the team. Same thing with aAa. They didn't play in the BYOC either.

Why isn't hon featured either? Because both are not really active on TL. Just an observation. DH discussion thread in the league forum 4 pages. Dota 2? 57 pages.

You guys are complaining to the wrong people. The topic creator has no say on what's represented there. Pretty sure TL does not support LoL unofficially or officially. They do, on the other hand, officially support DotA. This is why you see the DotA listing on the On Air portion.

MLG was last weekend and was a huge tournament. This weekend, we have GeSL and DH, both of which are relatively minor in terms of LoL tournaments due to weaker team line-ups and smaller prize pools.
DotA 2 has very few offline LANs a year and DH is one of them. If you want to compare the popularity of LoL vs DotA 2 on TL, you can simply compare the number of posts in the DotA 2 General Discussion thread with the accumulative amount of LoL General Discussion posts in the past year or so.

I'm pretty sure that's proof this is a matter of support. An inconsistent stream display when compared to anything with DotA2 or anything with Tobi casting is ALWAYS linked. I'm relatively certain MLGLoL was also not there. There was only SC2 representation. Think about it. Even with the very active LoL community on TL, the lack of support for LoL is telling.

As someone else mentioned already, Neo doesn't have the power to put up events to the calendar. Sometimes the event requests it themselves (i.e. IPL, GESL) but we've been asking heyoka for help in most cases. It's a bit of people being busy and us being lazy to make sure the streams are attached.

It's also easy for them to link to the stream as well. The fact that the stream was not there is the fact that TL has pretty much officially supported one game, DotA2, rather than LoL.
It's not as bad as you make it sound. As far as I know, TL hasn't "cut" support for LoL, just that the current staff members have more interest in Dota2. Neo, MoonBear, and myself just have to make sure to remind the right people about the steam sometimes. Regarding last weekend at MLG, I didn't even realize the sidebar was an issue since I thought it was an external link that can watch all of MLG's streams on the same page. I think MLG also had own.3d/twitch.tv streams for LoL in case people can't watch from their page but those aren't usually linked even for SC2. We definitely would have made a request to link LoL if we knew people were having trouble finding the stream.

TL has no vested interest one way or another, so it's not like DotA 2 excludes the possibility of supporting LoL at some future point in time. It just happens to be that among the staff, DotA 2 is more popular right now.
Bear in mind that we also got our own subforum before anyone else did. At that time, I seem to remember people in the HoN/DotA thread complaining about favoritism TOWARD LoL.

I'm mostly just going by what I've seen. It sure feels like it's one or the other on TL. Especially on the representation the LoL community gets on the stream listing.
I just want to make it clear before I get misunderstood. I enjoy both games. I dislike the somewhat obvious difference in representation shown by TL

I understand your point, but do not necessarily see why it has anything to do with the stream listing. I think we are talking about two different issues at this point.

There may or may not be favouritism, but the two most productive ways to get LoL featured in TL.net are to convert some of the TL.net admins or owners to become huge LoL fans and to have a massive protest/campaign to get LoL featured in the website feedback section.
The elephant in the room is that there are TL.net admins who are huge DotA 2 fans, and inevitably, they treat LoL as a rival. It's natural that this affects some of the decisions on TL.net but using this as a point of protest won't get you anywhere and will only alienate the TL.net staff when you make blanket statements on favouritism.
|
TL is not that important for LoL viewership anyway, probably not for Dota either. These games are succesful with or without TL, unlike sc2.
|
On June 18 2012 00:51 JBright wrote: It's not as bad as you make it sound.
Thank you for this clarification. I know there are a few of you who do a lot for this sub-section and want to let yall know it's appreciated.

You're forgetting that FakeSteve is the one who made the move to get us this subforum in the first place.
IIRC we didn't even have to ask for it.

Does anyone else have a working english stream? I get some ads, then when the real stream begins it goes black after few secs...god I hate twitch right now, so fucking many problems, haven't been able to watch any stream there for a week while own3d works just fine.

Well M5 dominating as expected, I really think this is going to come down to M5 vs CLG.EU and I just hope it isnt a complete stomp.

They have said it 500 times now ? Are you listening ? Gosu peppers pc.

I'm starting to side with the "gypsy internet curse" theory put forward for GoSu Pepper, tbh. Really good to see him on support Nunu - such great synergy with a good Kog, up to and including rage Absolute Zeros for guaranteed Icathian Surprise revenge, heh.
Looking forward to the M5/CLG.EU matchup; not entirely convinced AL will give the latter any trouble in the next match. Anyone know the deal with MM?

AL gets first blood on Krepo after a facecheck. AL off to a good start. Now let's see what they can do with it.
|
Kikis' Jax absolutely monstering Wickd's Irelia top, and Leona/Corki showing how you deal with a Sora/Trist lane - AL doing quite nicely. One for one trade in a 5v5 mid, but CLG.EU are too low afterwards to contest dragon.
|
|
CLG.EU lapsing to the "Froggen + 4 guys" form that showed up at MLG :/ Snoopeh's been atrocious. Can't see CLG.EU winning this.
Amazing teamfighting from Froggen on Ahri, btw - Zhonyas rush to let him play incredibly aggro at the start of teamfights, Zhonyas, then use the remaning ult charge or two to GTFO - as I'm typing this, CLG won a 5v5 3-0 after being down six kills to 15 and having lost every dragon.
|
We haven't seen an oracles yet in this game. That's strange.
Oh, there's shen with one.
|
What is it with CLG's bad form at offline events?
|
Srsly Nerf Froggen, dudes OP
|
Froggen's back must be so sore, yikes - amazing triple after getting focused. Gold difference is around 2k now after being something around 10k in AL's favour at one point.
|
On June 18 2012 03:32 DanielZKlein wrote: What is it with CLG's bad form at offline events?
They don't have THAT much experience at offline comparatively speaking....at least that's what I think it is. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Froggen just plays so well, each game, each tournament. Just amazing.
|
On June 18 2012 03:32 DanielZKlein wrote: What is it with CLG's bad form at offline events?
They make up for it with mind-meld teamfighting synergy (CLG.eu that is) Also it's impossible to peel Ahri + Nautilus off a carry

Froggen has a broad back, can carry lots on it.
|
Froggen #1 mid. Alex Ich close #2.
|
That Abyssal was the first defensive item on Froggen's Ahri. He's definitely building full on glass cannon hardcarry.
|
WTF T_T
That's.....I don't get how they do it.

Oh my god. How are they doing this! Wow. No ult on Froggen? No problem. Kill everyone anyway.

At MLG there were tons of technical probblems, and they lost only extremely closely. With a litle more luck they could have even won MLG with their bad form.
Snoopeh looked atrocious this game though. Have seen more than once that Snoopeh goes emo mode if lvl1 doesnt work out and he gets a little he behind in the jungle. He then proceeds to not do anything until team fights.
Wickd also being overagressive on top and collecting unneccessary deaths.

OK, eating my words - CLG.EU comfortably in the driver's seat after coming back from being ridiculously behind. Amazing Super Mario mode from Yellowpete's Tristana in that last teamfight, and Froggen playing v.v.cautiously + sensibly in that last teamfight due to ult being down.
|
That would have been a penta for frogen if he didn't blow that ult for no reason :/
|
Yeah, I was like wtf is Froggen doing wasting ult to jump blindly over Baron wall. AL forces baron and loses with no ult Ahri. Shit is cray.
|
Hmmm that PD choice by corki seems kind of sketch since all of them have so much armor items. Randuins, FH, zhonyas...
|
On June 18 2012 03:36 DanielZKlein wrote: That Abyssal was the first defensive item on Froggen's Ahri. He's definitely building full on glass cannon hardcarry.
He went zhonyas rush though, for the defensive utility.
|
True, true, he did have Zhonya's. Still, I am so used to seeing Abyssal first on Ahri. Has that changed since the AP ratios were adjusted or is Froggen really building super aggro?
|
I think Froggen was a lot more worried about the (at that stage) 6/0/x Corki than Karthus, and was counting on mobility/invulnerability to dodge Shen/Jax's damage.
|
On June 18 2012 03:39 DanielZKlein wrote: True, true, he did have Zhonya's. Still, I am so used to seeing Abyssal first on Ahri. Has that changed since the AP ratios were adjusted or is Froggen really building super aggro?
I think considering that froggen was owning karthus as it is, just with boots and doran's, he felt zhonyas would have been better, considering everyone else was mostly physical damage. Suppose it could have something to do with the ratio changes, iirc, when you have 300ap, ahri ult does more damage (with new ratios as compared to the old one)
Either way, froggen definitely carry clg hard.
|
Rylai's RoA mercs Karthus??
|
Amazing how easily CLG wins team fights once they are even on money. True that Froggen carried this, but on the other hand they won this in team fights, for which you obviously need a good team.
|
I'd love to see some slow-mo replays of those first few teamfights to watch Froggen's micro - absolutely breathtaking.
Casters are correct in crediting Krepo's silences as Soraka from stopping Jax from killing Ahri in those teamfights, yeah.

is clg vs m5 going to be played today ?

I know people say Alex Ich is nearly as good, but it always seems like the dropoff between Froggen and other AP mids is steeper than the dropoff between any other position in LoL. He just carries CLG so hard every game, even the ones they lose.

Yup, CLG vs M5 is likely not going to matter, assuming M5 will win vs MM.
|
Teleport/Smite Shaco on MM, with Singed top, Lulu mid, and Ali/Corki bot. No idea of their chances vs M5, but it'll be entertaining, hopefully!

teleport smite jungle shaco, this should be interesting.

MM describing their strat in after game interview: Lulu ult Shaco clone so M5 will blow everything and they can clean up.

m5 vs clg this gonna be good

Froggen already punishing m5 for not banning anivia.
2-0 before 10 mins.
|
Snoopeh has been useless the entire tournament so far :/
|
Perfect timing from M5, getting that dive on Wickd top then a double kill bot just before the dragon spawns.
Aaand, another dive on Irelia as blue is spawning, to deny Frognivia another blue. Diamond romping around with all kinds of ward-fu on Lee.

That last fight for dragon was pretty close actually. After that CLG just gave up or something giving up baron for an outer tower and then getting picked off after they had it.

So fucking dissapoiting game from CLG.
Before I facepalm to death, can anyone explain me why Wickd went Triforce first against Vlad top with Karthus mid? Seems so dumb when he could just have gone double null magic mantle into merc + wits and be an anti magic beast vs. 2xap team?
Wickd still no mr items. Real.

Wickd still no mr items. Real. Obviously because he wanted to play agressive aganst Vlad. Equal farming with Vlad is not enough becasue he will get stronger all the time. If they can kill him early with the help of Alistar they can snowball top. They could not get any decent ganks going though, so it backfired.

Yes, that is deffinately true, and I liked that he bought the sheen as first component. But in my experience, both from playing at suck elo (~1500) and watching pro games, as soon as Irelia gets 2 null mantles, she will WRECK Vlad in all engagements. In that way, Wickd wouldn't even need help from Ali to win his lane, and Ali could focus on ganking the more accecable (spelling?) Karthus or bot. But, I think you are spot on that they wanted to make strong ali ganks, and it backfired.

The reason why it's always "boring" is because CLG know how not to get out of position. The reason why certain games are exciting is because there are mistakes by other times that teams can take advantage on catch people out of position.
CLG.eu knows when to not do stupid things.

Yes that facecheck at blue when CLG were probably ahead was one of the throws.........
So many people misinterpreting this game like it was some amazing display of skill.

Lets not forget Corki is a pretty low range AD carry. With an ad carry like Kog or Trist they could have easily gotten 1-2 hits off on the turret once in a while but with Corki Genja couldn't

They just needed to take potshots at the turret when they had flash up. Anivia can wall you, but you can flash over it
|
LoL was just christened as an eSport.
|
M5's lack of any CC harder than a slow (aside from Lee Sin's ult) really cost them - it contributed to their inability to let Corki take potshots at the tower without opening themselves up to huge risks, and when everyone's at 6-item builds and offense has outscaled defense by a ridiculous degree, getting half your team caught in a Pulverise/Flash Frost/etc while the enemy team is free to roll their face across their keyboards makes teamfights fairly unwinnable - Karthus/Vlad melted before they could use their Zhonyas towards the end.
|
Hm, Alex Ich on Anivia? I don't think I've ever seen him pick her, am I mistaken?
Edit: wait, apparently it's a rerun?

this just shows that league has and long way to go in the picking phase when m5 didn't even comphrend how they were going to take towers. imagine if the game was even it would of been a stomp by clg

"Throw" is just another word for "played like shit after they were ahead." I don't even know what it's suppose to convey other than, "I like this team but I don't want to admit that they got outplayed."

CLG had no wards, nobody would have noticed and they couldn't have left mid tower either. Tank tower for 1 attack (with triforce proc), pull back. Considering they were trying to take that mid tower down for like 20 minutes, it would have been enough time to poke a tower down like that.

Scarra was talking on his stream about how strong Anivia is. He was saying something to the effect that Anivia's kit and base damage is so ridiculous that he could smurf lower ELOs and still dominate with AD Anivia.

I want to see the VODS....

It is a throw in the sense that M5 wildly misplayed that. If you don't think they misplayed it and threw the game, then you have to say that there is no way for Anivia/Soraka to ever have their base turrets pushed down. I think M5 should have just manned up and dove way before the respawn timers got to the 60 second mark.
Maybe people will start taking Anivia/Soraka every game and play for super late 60 minute games.

People like something I don't like, they must be stupid! Great attitude to have.
|
Just because one team did something wrong doesn't mean it isn't a great game. Often it's because the other team forced them into that mistake, which is why it's a great game.
I guess we're all responsible of doing it every now and then (looking down on games because of what perspective you're looking at), but Chaox's tweet was really in poor taste. As much I like TSM, it doesn't make sense to use your public pulpit in such fashion (i.e. "need more intelligent fans" is very offensive).

He and vlad were getting 100-0'd without CC ever letting up - might have something to do with the fact that CLG had 5 hard CCs (counting silence since it shuts down zhonya) - many of them AoE, ALL of them on short CDs, plus anivia wall, and M5 had only Lee's ultimate for CC. If they dove 20 minutes earlier 5v5 maybe they could have won a fight but against that much CC and with none to show for themselves they were relying entirely on blowing CLG up before getting CC'd.
M5 just didn't have the composition to go up against that much CC in the late game. Kudos to CLG EU for hanging on by a thread for that long - if anyone at all on CLG had gotten poked down too low at the wrong time during the siege, it was all over.

No, it was a bad game because most of the game (and keep in mind it was over 60 minutes) was two teams standing off at a turret killing minion waves. If you find that interesting...yeah
|
It was a good game to me because:
-A team I highly dislike, but still have much respect for in terms of skills, like M5 lost a massive lead to -A team I think is very over rated like CLG.eu
So yes, while you can choose to focus on the perspective that M5 threw the game; I focus on the perspective that CLG.eu forced their hand in little ways that amounted to a clutch victory.
People will watch hour-long games of baseball, chess, etc. (all of which I could also argue are pretty damn boring) and find it enjoyable. If you don't agree with that, fine. If you find it logical to question people's intelligence based on what they like or dislike...yeah.

On the contrary, TSM has been on top of the NA scene lately. I think if it's out of frustration, it has more to do with how the GESL tournament is going.
But yeah, there is probably a slight bit of resentment towards m5

an issue that I had with the game was Genja's lack of lifesteal. I felt his GA was not utilized properly, as even when he came back to life there was no way he could survive with only 750 health and nothing else. Basically as soon as he took any damage during the teamfight there was no way he could gain that life back

Did anyone else notice Vladimir selling his Abyssal Scepter at 56:30 for a Needlessly Large Rod? What the hell was he thinking? How is that a remotely good decision? Maybe if he could afford to one-shot the 2nd Deathcap it would be ok (I still don't think so), but selling a full item for just a NLR, giving him 10 extra AP whilst losing 57 MR (plus the aura)?
That's pants-on-head stupid, and he was rightfully chunked by Froggen in the final fight for his idiocy.
There were some other bad item choices by M5 (Sorcs and Tabi on Karthus/Vlad when they're both being mucked by CC, FoN over QSS on Karthus), but this one is just... so... stupid...
Darien (Vladimir)'s Item Path: + Show Spoiler +Boots of Speed Will of the Ancients Ninja Tabi Rylai's Crystal Scepter Amplifying Tome Abyssal Scepter
Amplifying Tome Rabadon's Deathcap Thornmail - I have no idea why he would get this over Hourglass.
Thornmail - (about 7 minutes after buying it) Apparently he didn't either.
Will of the Ancients - Considering Karthus didn't have one, nobody on his team but Lee had any sustain and everyone did lots of spell damage, this is perhaps an even worse decision than selling the Abyssal later on - plus it was done at a point in time where M5 was still ahead Zhonya's Hourglass - finally at 52 minutes he gets this core item Void Staff - I don't think it's worth selling Will of the Ancients for this. CLG was all under 110 MR. Damage is nice but WotA brings so much to the team. Sell the Rylai's if you really need MPen, the slow is worthless late game. --- this is where the bottom lane teamfight happens ---
Abyssal Scepter - WHAT IN GOD'S NAME? Needless Large Rod -WHY? --- this is where Vladimir gets 2-combo'ed by Anivia because he has no spellvamp to heal back and only has 50 MR ---

The dangers of supports clearing wards alone. That could have lost AL the game.
edit: guess not. Kog gets caught and gets exploded by Ahri.
|
This fight was awful to watch, terrible play by curse
|
I don't understand why they tried to engage that, the charm was shielded and Ahri had already blown 2 charges on her ult, why follow-up with Malph's ult (more like "dive") with Taric/Graves/Kayle unable to join?
|
I said to myself 'Genja, if you don't do something in the next team fight I'm going to have to declare Chaox as the best AD carry" but then he got a triple kill and I was like "Genja, I'm sorry I doubted you."
[Please don't respond to this saying "LOL (Insert AD Carry) is best AD carry LOL". It's opinion.]
|
Didn't see the bans.
Curse: Taric Nocturne, Graves Morgana, Darius M5: Shen, Nunu Kog, Irelia Galio
|
Taric gets harassed by Nunu and Kog, but stuns Nunu just out of turret range when Graves comes back, they almost burst him down and chase, with Taric still low. Galio tps in using a bush ward and help finish off Taric for FB.
Two minutes later Nocturne ganks bottom but summoner heal allows Kog to live till Shen ults him. Curse dives and gets Kog for Nocturne, with Shen almost dead too.
Gold roughly equal thanks to Morgana pushing when Galio leaves. Irelia almost even with Darius (which sux hard for him) and Kog a bit ahead bot.
|
Darien + Nocturne dive top and get a kill on Irelia + top tower, M5 responds with drake (and kill Morgana not careful enough). I'm not sure if taking that tower was the right idea, here Darius didn't need to ult to kill Irelia but she still holds her own in cs and she pushes less.
|

same here, cant sync it :s
very annoying
|
Darius roams to no avail, meaning with Morg's death all lanes are outfarmed by M5. Irelia takes top, and M5 the gold lead.
|
Massive teamfight bot, my stream stutters, things to note are Shen surviving with like 100 HP, Morgana ult not stunning anyone due to late timing and good splitting from M5 (they could as the fight had broken down, less free damage taken). Graves gets caught and bursted, Taric dies, somebody finishes off Irelia despite Galio using his ult to peel beautifully.
|
What do you ban vs M5? Its so annoying, im gonna have to go with TF Shen and Karthus... Those globals... daaayumn
|
I'm lagging like mad (bad comp at work), apparently Curse took a tower but lost 4 people. Can't full screen to look at gold but M5 probably firmly in the lead by now, I imagine they also got a drake out of it.

Why does xPeke always run TF? His TF is nowhere near tourney level. His TF exerts no map pressure, misses farm and get outlaned (sure, it's Ahri, but he lost because of bad play not because of being countered).

I believe the TF already did a lot simply by being a threat. This was the reason why leona 7 graves did not play more agressive bot despite being ahead. Without the tf threat they would have played much more agressive I believe. Same with top lane, I have seen mayn games of Wickd with Renekton against Kennen. usually he plays it very agressive, but just could not in this one because of TF.

I proper jinxed Froggen with the 'doenst die' whoops

That was a very greedy dive by Froggen. Unexpected of him to make such a blatant mistake.

Whoaaaw that was a 5man stun on the leonault, followed by a 4man stun wit the nautult
Those are the things that seperate them from the rest imo

Anyway, if CLG.eu or FnaticRC played like TPA, this game would be over by now. Lategame ambush into fast push OP.

Snoopeh is actually very solid and clean, he doenst get into trouble if he doenst has to and hes very calm in his ganks. Wickd farms. You gotta love it or hate it, but thats what he does and hes one of the best at it. He has no fear and an insane gameknowledge, you dont want him on you lategame when hes farmed. Thats why so many opponents camp his lane.
In the end , LoL is a teamgame, so if they get 'carried' as you put it, is that really a problem? Teamfights is where you win and lose games.

Still Snoopeh behing behind something like 60 to 120 cs to Maokai was way too much. Wickd cs was also somewhat low, although I give him the benefit of the doubt because of the TF threat. And kennen is annoying to lane against. Anyway both of them were good in the team fights like always.

FLASH BANANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

|
Froggana is pretty good too
|
Morgana missing, Karthus follows bot, but despite that fnatic's botlane still camping CLG's turret until it's too late. Good communication skills.
|
Gotta love Fnatic going with splitpush Nidalee then diving 4v5 to defend an inner turret instead of stalling for Soaz to kill an inhibitor.
|
Who won game2? Can someone give a quick recap of the game? Tnx in advance <3
|
CLGeu won it, didn't really see game.
|
Fnatic got more or less stomped because Nidalee got caught by Jax at level 2, dropping to below half-HP, then Maokai came for the first blood gank, putting Nid in a very awkward spot (figure Jax level 4 with around 15 more cs than Nida). Then Morgana ganked bot since Kog/Soraka were pushed to their turret. Fnatic's mid (Karthus) follows, but Tristana and Nunu both stay under turret until Morgana is nearly at the tribrush, so jump or not Trist gets caught by Morg's ult, stunned, and dies. Karthus tries to finish off Kog (runs into bush, juking Nunu) then damage Morgana, eats a lot of damage 1v3, flashes away, Soraka flash-banana for the 3rd kill.
I started lagging after that and missed most of the action but with such leads and Jax scaling way harder than Nidalee anyway CLG just rode their advantage. Also SoaZ doing the splitpush, but Fnatic still tries to contest baron or initiate on CLG 4v5, at least thrice (once at baron, once to defend a top tower, the other one I can't remember when, I had barely fixed the lag and didn't see that Nida was missing until the fight was over).
|
Between that banana-kill and the splitpushing Nidalee, Nocturne ganked bot once, yellowpete died and fnatic got the turret. Then they tried to roam around playing towersiege, but this did nothing apart from letting yellowpete freefarm. Froggen got caught and killed once by 3, but Jaxjump+Kog ulti made it a 1 for 1. And from that point, soaz was splitpushing top while clg was 5v4-ing or 4v4-ing towers (with Wickd defending). They dove at one of the mid towers, got 2 kills and did Baron.
EDIT: And yellowpete finished the game with something like 7/1/4. Wüppens gonna wüpp^^

4 man backdoor dive on bot, Nunu gets killed under the tower, corki suicides on CLGs tower just before kog can get a hit on him.
Huge fight at dragon, wickd is there making it 5v4. CLG takes dragon and TF down, M5 takes down Snoopeh. Vlad pushing top in the meantime.
M5 dive alistar bot but allmost gets Nunu killed, cow lives.
|
Anivia 20cs ahead of TF in mid, rest of the lanes are pretty much equal.
|
Nunu sleeping on the job, gets killed by a simple gank. 4-2 score now
|
Froggen playing very well this game. Constant pressure mid means no ganks from TF.
|

we have yet to see either Noc or TF use their ultimate to gank.

Dragonfight comming up, everyones just bought. Wickd and Vlad dont take part , making it 4v4

Stream dies on me as they start the drake. Yay.

Drag Fight into Stream Smite.

great timing with the stream

this is the worst i've seen in any tournament

Looks like M5 got the dragon plus a 1-for-1.

I see you havent seen WCG ever
Finally a noc + TF gank bot
|
Wickd steals red after Noc dived bot. Uses red and yellowpete to kill vlad.
7-5 is the score now.
No clue if anyone followed my poor LR, but i gtg
|
|
M5 gonna have to make some plays soon. Kog and Anivia are getting big....
|
The stream is still muted for me;
I've followed WCG streams, but the really bad ones were from what? 2003 - 2005?
It's 2012.
But yeah the GESL is pretty bad too.
|
am i the only one with a lagging no sound stream?
480p partially works, 720+ is totally shit -.- cmon dreamhack dont disappoint me as the best tournament alongside IPL
|
The production of this is not bad at all. The stream was just dying.
edit. I have sound and no problems now on 720.
|
M5 trades bot turret for stealing blue. On the surface, seems like a bad trade.
|
What about the sheer fact that ads play at the worst times? And even when they're not playing, I'll often get the overlay that says "ad loading" as if someone keeps hitting some damn button they're not supposed too.
Also someone in production keeps switching to the wrong overlay at times.

Unless you can press on that advantage, it is a bad trade. Denying Froggen blue could mean that you could either 5v5 fight at Drag/Baron or try and push a turret with the small advantage you have.
CLG getting a turret really only nets them money/exp and a small positional advantage.
|
Bullshit stream totally crashing my browser. Fuck this. I know that computer's kinda old but still, that's infuriating. Brb searching lost tabs URLs.

That bot lane push gave them a kill on Genja and the inner turret.

Ah. Well than it's clearly in CLG's favour!
Just turned on the stream myself. Fun to see M5 taking a bit different comp than usual with double global ultimates (Tf/noc).
Alistar+Maokai is real terror though.
|
M5 just keeps staring at that first mid tower....
|
Why even bother picking proper initiation and hard cc against kogmaw~.~
|
CLG takes mid inhib after a great engage. 4 For 0, and now they Baron.
Froggen's area control is pretty damn impressive. Makes for great followups with their line-up, considering they have three tanky champions with stuns and gap closers. Meanwhile Yellowpete just shreds through their whole team.
|
The real terror is just letting CLG have both Kog and Anivia, M5 can't or won't seem to push even 5v4 on that first mid tower while YellowPete is farming bot lane. Seems more like they're giving up any chance at aggression at this stage when their comp falls off hard compared to CLG. Just seems really sad to me.
|
At this point, it's pretty over. CLG's got a late-game comp and are up ~5k, a baron buff, and mid inhib vs. a mid-game comp from M5.
|
I dont understand how ANY team especially M5 can still not ban anivia vs Froggen, especially after yesterday's game. Are they too cocky to admit that he IS the damn bird. Please dont argue with the He's gosu with any mid champ argument because clearly anivia in his hands is gamechanging :D
|
m5 don't know how to pick

Yeah, Kog is benefiting a lot from Anivia. Great synergy. Can't push vs late game Anivia or Kog.
And CLG pushes it through and takes the game! GG!
@Asnsensation:
I think they were planning to use the double global against the Kog+ Anivia. Anivia can't wall vs TF/Noc ult, and both Kog and Anivia don't have an escape on their own other than flash.
Of course, CLG were in the lead from the beginning due to Kog's lvl 1 FB.
|
m5 need to stop running vlad top i think.
|
CLG teamfights too stronk. And yeah, Yellowpete, Wickd, Froggen, Snoopeh all got their most favorite champ.
|
M5 trying to take advantage of early game stronk champs; can't really blame them for picking that way. They're playing where their strengths are.
|
I can't even get impressed by Froggen anymore. The more I see him play Anivia, the more I'm jaded. It became that predictable and repetitive.
|
What can M5 do against CLG? It seems their nerves were even shakier in this game.
|
On June 19 2012 00:13 jacosajh wrote: M5 trying to take advantage of early game stronk champs; can't really blame them for picking that way. They're playing where their strengths are.
I'd argue that CLG's supporting heroes are far better early game. Maokai is a better early game ganker than Noc, and Ali is a better support early on. I'd even argue that Irelia is better early game than Vlad.
M5's lineup really looked focused on lvl 6 and higher (not late game though).
@Zenon: The lvl 1 kill contributed a lot, can't let a Kog get a lead in lane early on.
Other than that, their picks just didn't work out. CLG played protect the Kog perfectly, and M5 wasn't able to edge an advantage out in laning phase, where they should have the advantage with double (semi)global ultimate ganks.
|
Once vlad is lvl 9ish and gets hextech, he's a beast, and can push his lane to help Noc gank or counter jungle.
TF and Noc ult at lvl 6, that's pretty game breaker from 15-25 minutes. All of the games I've watched with M5, this is around the time when things really spiral out of control.
But yeah, in late game, TF and Noc ult are pretty much useless vs that CLG team comp.
|
I've been wondering for quite some time, but isn't Gosupepper a bit mentally challenged? He seems to be so stupid compared to any other support player.
|
|
While I'm a big fan of GoSu Pepper's Nunu, I don't think it combos with Corki well enough to keep running that particular bot lane :/

Yeah, M5 ran a mid-game comp, not an early game comp. But his point correct in its idea. They were hoping to get kills on Kog with double-ganks from Nocturn and TF globals. Unfortunately, TF was always pushed back by Anivia, and Nocturn was afraid of being counter-jungled by the roaming Irelia and a weirdly agressive Maokai. M5 won the mid-game, but they didn't win it by very much when they needed to absolutely crush it be able to compete with CLG's late game.
|
Why do M5 keep running Corki with Nunu? I would have thought of all the popular ADs he would be the one who benefits from AS the least.
|
I know that Genja plays a pretty good Ashe. If they have problems pushing vs. Anvivia / Kog, a heavy initiate when they're slightly ahead might break the mid game stalemate to seal the deal before CLG can recover.
|
Is game1 over yet? If so, who won? Cant access stream where i am now. tnx in advance
|
It's been over for like 15 minutes. Clg won.
|
They still refusing to ban Anivia.
|
And CLG gets Kog again first pick against Noct/Nunu, are they really gonna let CLG have the same team?
Edit: Oh wait is this just game 1 over again? Yup, stream seems awfully weird today, Quake gets phased to LoL, then back around and around. Pretty confusing.

One cookie here says that it will be another two hours before we get a random representative on the stream that tells us there is a delay so it will take another hour to start.

So they cause a 2 hour delay just because they want to move the game to the dreamarena.

I give up. I really wanted to see the games and had planned my evening around it, but this is plain bullshit.
NOT a single word, not a single piece of information, and a 2h+ delay ? Without ANYTHING interesting to watch inbetween ? And now the 3 games I want to watch will start AT THE SAME FUCKING TIME ? Read : DotA 2, SC2, LoL ???
This is just stupid. I waited 3h watching VODs and now everything will start at once, if it starts one day. How does that even make sense.

God I hate twitch.tv, every time any stream gets a decent amount of viewers it starts lagging.
They updated the start time for in 8 minutes, according to the clock thingy on the stream at least.

I mean, yes, he's annoying to lane against, near impossible to gank, and can stomp on some/most mids, but not really as hard as some champs, I feel. He can get shut down by pre-6 pressure and really safe play, which pros can do easily. And past that mid-game instagib potential, I just don't think he has the carrying or utility power that others bring.

The Korean ones used sound booths. MLG Anaheim is the first MLG event to use sound proof booths, the previous ones all didn't. And MLG's sound proof booths caused additional problems on day 1 like feed back in the booth and stuff lol.

Well, I don't know how they've been doing it, but AFAIK all tournaments I've seen so far; they didn't have to not discuss information sensitive stuff like where wards are, gank setups, etc. That's all just pretty much basic caster material I would think.
Also, IIRC, all of the recent tournaments used closed booths.

Maybe they're just physically really close to the casters. Which is kind of dumb. I don't know cause I'm not there, but it doesn't make much sense to prevent casters from talking about that kind of stuff.

What amazes me is that m5 chose kass right after clg chose maokai, arguably the best early ganker mid, certainly one of the best, just does not make sense. No matter how well kass does vs karthus 1 v 1, you have to take junglers into account ._. Weird pick.
|
Not just Maokai for Kass to worry about, but Urgot/Sora when teamfights roll around - you're not going to burst an Urgot down, and you're unlikely to burst anything down with a Soraka there to heal as well as silence you if you jump in.
