Obviously in an ideal situation, 100+ champs would be viable each and every game and pros picked champs based on a strategy they want to execute or a counter to their opponent's strategy/champs. Given League shows no sign of ever reaching that sort of variation (My guess is focusing on nerfing popular champs rather than buffing underutilised, plus mobility creep is the culprit. Not to mention having that much possibility is super unlikely anyway), removing some champs from the 'pro champ rotation' and adding new ones is the best way to keep the game fresh. I know personally I've watched precious little LCS so far, and current picks have a lot to do with it. I'd love to only add champs to the 'pros will actually pick this champ list', but I don't think Riot is capable of making that happen, at least not at the moment. If the best they can do is 'refresh' the list with new champs, than that is better than nothing. Granted it doesn't help that I find a lot of popular champs right now very boring (e.g. Kayle and Nidalee), but that's a personal thing. | ||
