Curiously..... Is he good at all? My most memorable moment of IWD is his Alistar during OGN Champion Summer.... he camped the bottom lane for like 3 minutes only to fail the QW combo.

Scarra really pushing that Ori. She just seems so finnicky, not really straight up strong like Ahri or even Annie, only shines in certain situations. Maybe it's just me.

Because 50% of LoL playerbase doesn't' play ranked, has no interest in playing ranked, hates playing ranked? I'm sure there are a few talented unranked players who only play normals

Orianna is so annoying though. Unlike some other skillshot champions, Orianna has a shield that also gives MR, and just in case she missed her skillshots she can still auto you. I really dislike laning against Orianna. Luckily I don't see too many... I guess people around my skill level are too nub to realize how broken she is

He looked promising when he first joined Dignitas when Jatt left but after the first few tournaments with Dignitas only placing in top 5, top 3, in tournaments and never winning anything, its clear that the junglers from every other team does a better job than IWD does and then some. I really liked Jatt more than IWD and I felt he fit into/led the team much better than he does now

I am pretty sure that those don't count in that statistic. If i understand correctly, the average of LoL elo is at 1200, which, if the system works correctly, would mean that half of the people who play ranked are below 1200.
The crazy part is when you notice that you are gold or platinum, and that means you are in the top 1-3%. Which makes no sense whatsoever considering just how bad i am.
I think the lesson one should take out of this is just that it is hard to overestimate just how bad the average LoL player is.

In SC2, too, I've been able to reach plat even though my macro is terrible, my APM is 20-30 and I don't have builds, I just wing it every game. From how I viewed myself playing SC, I should have been bronze, but I underestimated the amount of bad that is present in the majority of people.
Ppl so bad

the ENTIRE LoL playerbase that play ranked: Mystery, I'm guessing around 40-50%
of that 40-50%, only 50% are actually 1250 or higher(which is old "bronze", now silver is 1150), rest of 50% are sub <1250 which is unranked This information is outdated because you are given a bronze medal all the way down to 850 I believe
Now these are the % of ONLY RANKED players Silver is top 20-25%
Gold is top 5-10%
Plat is top 1-2%
Diamond is top 0.01%
Again, these stats are OUTDATED, the new tiers for medals made every tier so much lower before, especially for the lower tiers Bronze(1250, or "old bronze") is top 60-70%, Silver is probably top 30-40%, Gold top 10-5%, Plat top 2-2.5%
Edit: There are currently 351,086 "ranked" players according to the official soloQ ladder, which starts at 1200 which is AUTOMATICALLY silver

Top 1-3% of all players higher than 1200 elo is the stat. I remember someone on reddit collected the data of players above 1200 elo. I am pretty terrible at this game and I am 1800 elo which is top 2% of all players above 1200 elo, thus if you account people below 1200 and people that dont play ranked yeah.. so what you said about the average LoL player.
edit: here is the data, about 1 month old now http://i.imgur.com/OGWi6.png

Its pretty reasonable to assume the population that plays ranked is roughly the same in skill distribution than those that don't play ranked ever (if not slightly better), so being in the top 10% of ranked players is the same as the top 10% of all players.

I just looked at what the lol wiki says here. I don't know where they got their data, though, so i don't know how much one can believe them. They state that gold in the season 2 system is top 5-10%, and plat top 0.5-1% of all the people playing ranked.

EgoIgnaxio is a pretty good example. He soared really high once he started playing ranked to shut up everyone who said he was bad because he only plays Normals.
He got to 2k ELO in two to three weeks iirc.

If anything, the new medals thing just made a shitload of bronze players change to silver so they wouldn't feel as bad, and the unranked->bronze for the same reason

God, Nid is such a bitch.

Hm, but they are significantly NOT the stats you just posted before.

You have to realize that LoL is HUGE so casuals who have either never played video games or come from console games are playing. I have some RL friends that played Xbox Live casually who have no idea how to even control their mouse and keyboard. It's no surprise that if you have experience playing on the PC you'll be better than those who don't.

IWD didn't really seem that strong in these games. GG CLG
