Now I'm sure that most of you don't care that i won.. But it does concern the Tl.net community iF you continue reading. I won it at a School Raffle " BCIT" in BC , Canada
Since I already own a half decent laptop and owe a billion dollars in student loans i have decided to sell it. Online it goes for just over 2500$(www.sonystyle.com) since its really rare at only 300 of these machines made. My machine is labeled 33/300
Alright , if i haven't lost you yet this is where Tl.net gets involved.. If you remember i had a forum on tl.net a couple years back. I got robbed in Prauge and was staying with a friend in Amsterdam with no money or way to get back home. Well. liquid`meat hooked me up with 8hours of work and others , many others donated euros and dollars to help me get home. i didnt make it before Christmas but i did indeed get home shortly after. ALL thanks to Tl.net.
SO!! what im going to offer is 10% of my sale to TL.NET. which could be up to 250-300$
of course i would put Meat in charge of the cash , but ill leave it up to you guys for what you want to do with it. Tournaments , Tshirts, donation to charity , etc.. i really dont have a clue.. but this is my way of giving back to the community..
ill have the listing on ebay withen the week sometime . i have to set up a new paypal/ebay account. and will post a link to it as well.
i was also going to offer an additional 5% off to any TL.net member who purchases it. thats just an idea though
alright hopefully you made it all the way down to the bottom and are about to share your ideas on what to do with the 10%

I definately remember you User11, your story was so cool even though it was so unbelievable at first considering you just coming and writing such a crazy post about your travels (if I remember you were also just a new member with a very low post count at that time as well). Good luck with selling your Z series and i'm sure the money given to meat will be greatly appreciated!

That's really cool, I think one of the better uses would be saving it for Highlander II (because this one is going to be a smashing success, I can feel it), as a place to start the prize pool.
Anything is awesome though.

This is a pretty nice thing to do.
It sucks how you were robbed though. It must have been hard to replace all those things, if you even got around to replacing them at all, considering your debt, which seems to rival that of the United States.

OMG, this is really epic, congrats!!! I'm reading the original thread right now but from the look of things, this totally made me happy to be part of in such an inspiring nice community such as TL even if it was someone else point of view. It just to show how TL owns many of the forums out there! ^_^
As for the laptop, I checked it out too and o.O....... me want...... lol
But my suggestion is like a contest, rather than a tourney, maybe like a contest where you let them do something for ya to be picked.... you know how TL had the beta key guide contest and all.... ^_^

Truely inspirational, my favorite part is where you get home and post nothing for the next two years. It must have sucked for the people who cared so much for you to not know what happened, but then you reappeared after all that time, and it was beautiful.
It seems like you have a lot of fun and enjoy life no matter what your situation is. I respect that. Also, this idea is a really great way to give back.

iv gotten 2 offers so far on tl.net one for 1200, and one for 1400. im looking to get 1700 for it.. but been told since its rare it might go as high as 2500 on ebay. i just opened an ebay account since my last one was lost or closed down. dont really have any feedback so that might effect the bidding.

the Z790 yeah the color being black. its fully loaded... except the ram is 6gb not 8gb. everything else i think is the best. vista ultimate 64bit 512gb ssd bluray p9700 2.8ghz

For gaming, isn't nvidia 9300M GS a little lacking? Frankly, I don't understand how some of these business notebooks go for anything higher than 1000. If you want a gaming laptop, a 2ghz dual core/4gb ram is enough, and after that it's the graphics card that matters. At the very least, if you want modern games running smoothly at playable settings, you should aim for 9600M GT as a baseline.
If you truly want a work only laptop, even a 2ghz single core with 2gb ram is fine. Heck, a netbook will be enough.
The SS hard drive and 8gb ram are just excessive for any purpose. Until SS drives go down in price, regular hard drives will almost always be more bang for your buck, especially on laptops, which generally last at most 3 or 4 years. And although 8gb ram is nice, the difference you will feel from 4gb and 8gb rams will be almost nonexistant.
I mean, look at the 2gb of video ram available for the graphics card. At this point, the number of games that can benefit fully from the 2gb ram is nonexistant. Indeed, the 9300M card will limit the gaming and other graphics performance so much so that the 2gb ram won't feel like anything special.

I think that the whole limited edition thing jacks up the price a fair amount, even though I agree with many of the points you outlined here. Besides, you don't need a great graphics card to play Starcraft.

its business executive laptop, meaning its light and portable like a workbook yet has some features of high end rig, so basically its none of the two but since its sony and its flashy, its 2x the price tag.
Its made for people with $$ (or lack of something else) to impress ladies in conference room.
Having 2 graphic chips on a book is just waste of space if you ask me.

My opinion is to just give it to the TL staff, and let them run a contest in your name and use the money as the prize. I think that a good contest type would be like the guide contests that TL held for the SC2 beta keys, since not only is it fair and accessible/winnable by everyone, but it also contributes to the overall community.
Something like a VOD commentating contest would be nice, for example.
