I highly doubt that a race so evovled that it can survive billions of years travelling through space will so much as think of us as "interesting creatures". I doubt they'll need to enslave us given that the aforementioned technology (that allowed them to travel billions of years through space) would be more then adequate for their survival. Even on earth we're replacing more and more physical labour with robotics and automated factory processes. So, if aliens do come, they'll be like "omg look organic life forms.. take a picture" and then fly off.... Might explain the UFO sightings and the complete disinterest of the UFOs in making contact. It's only humanity's narcissism that makes us think anyone would consider us as anything more but dumb animals. Besides, most animals which we make daily contact with communicate EXACLY the same as us. The only difference being that they don't go into the complexities humans do. Seriously, how far off are we from being 'just animals'? Analyse our group behaviour and we're just like sheep. human beings are just one the smarter primates. We may dominate life on this planet, but were still just monkeys ![]()

But in terms of epicness and long-term changes to humanity, an alien invasion would be unbelievably awesome, provided we have similar military technology.

I can just see myself and a band of brothers having to slash our way through hordes of zombies and having to live on the edge every single second. I'm starting to think that only if we were so lucky that all the people we don't like turn into zombies and the people we like are with us slaying the zombies. But if it was reality, that would not be the case and you might have assholes that are still alive with you while your loved ones are flesh eating monsters that you have to kill. Sounds bad. So basically, zombies are worse. Aliens are better since they don't care about us.

Well, more like love to see get shot in the head. There is nothing more satisfying than a zombie getting his dome wrecked.

Say, if they kill the assholes then they would only be here to make your life better. If they killed an equal ammount, there will be still more assholes than loved ones, because we are more frecuently assholes than lovers. And if they kill more assholes than loved ones, then those assholes will be the loved ones of other assholes and the aliens will only be here to be assholes with the assholes for making their lives miserable.
