Trying to connect a PS2 (game console) to a computer, so that I can use the monitor like a TV.
I'm Not trying to rip, or burn, or play online or anything. Just want to know if there is a simple little converter thing I need to get or whatever to play using the computer monitor and speakers (in place of a TV).
EDIT- Well I ended up using the shitty TV that couldn't accept A/V cables directly like this: I hooked up a VCR with the Coaxil cable TV. Then I hooked another coaxil from the vcr to the TV. Then I plugged the A/V cables from the PS2 into the VCR and did a little channel tweaking and got it to work 100% without a computer.

I'm pretty sure there's RC to VGA converters though.
Check out www.monoprice.com or Radio Shack.

I could swear red was stero and white was mono.
---edit---
nvm, I just looked it up. White is Left and Red is Right. They're both for stereo sound but either can be mono, I believe.

Aren't red/white stereo channels (i.e. left and right)?

on my ps2 I plugged the rca cable into my tv card and used dscaler
it looked pretty crappy but ps2 always did.

An option that will work if you cant find an s-video/rca to dvi is a tuner card like lake said, goes in a pci slot they cost about $30-120

Blah, for anything that cost over 20$ bucks I can just buy some crappy little TV instead. Thanks anyways I guess.

There are converters, but they aren't cheap. Mine cost almost $80, but it contains a universal component input. Anything cheaper then the image is all washed out and ugly. They are worth the price since the image are so sharp & can be use with any system with adapters.
