What do I do? How do I find this son of a gae and get him back. I don't think you can do anything about it, because you have absolutely no trace as to who it might be. Suppose it's a blue Dodge Neon (or Chrysler, or any other company that puts its name on that exact car). There are far too many of them to pinpoint one in particular, and even if you took all the blue Neons in your area, you can't be certain that it's someone from your area. It could be any blue Neon from any state that happened to be travelling down your road at that time. There's pretty much nothing you can do except pay for the repairs yourself.

i always wanted to have a camera attached to my car so that when someone hit it, the camera would pop out of the roof of my car and take like 24 pictures while spinning 360 degrees to get the plates and face of the person who it me. and obviously pop back into the car.

I'd advise against doing this.

I'm pretty sure his premium doesnt go up if the accident wasnt his fault. such as if there is a police report and he got points on his license, which there is no reason for him to get. Hot_bid confirm/deny? I think it also varies state to state based of if they area fault/no-fault state.

Your insurance probably has a deductible too, which means that either way you are stuck paying. I saw one of these happen not too long ago late at night, except the car totally SMASHED the other car and just kept going. We couldn't get the plate. People are douchebags.

Depending on the dent, you can try to pop it out. Or you can try heating it with a hairdryer and cooling it with dry ice or a compressed can. There's a video of someone doing this online and the dent simply pops itself out. Someone hit my car with a ladder and I was going to try this on the weekend, but the dent is so small I figured it wouldn't actually move if I tried it.

Cars are money pits. On the average mid range car you will be driving between 2 and 3 grand in resale value off of it every year. That's the average. Triple that number for the first year. You will be paying huge insurance rates, because you are a male ages 18 to 24 and you take responsibility for causing all the fatal accidents on the road, because too many of your peers are retards. You will never win making a claim. Your premiums will ALWAYS increase more than the cost of the damages, over your career as a driver. Gas is fucking expensive, and will continue to increase in price far in excess of inflation, for the rest of your lifetime. What used to be a minor repair 20 years ago will now cost you thousands of dollars because there is apparently a highly expensive computer chip in your rear bumper and getting that dent out is going to require special suction tools from Japan. Your car is a status symbol and will continue to represent your lifestyle more than any other item you own, which is ironic because the more you put into your car, the less wealth you will actually accumulate. These truths will never change. Accept them now and move on.

I backed into someone because I'm an idiot. I sat there and thought about how easy I could drive away. Then I realized I don't want to be that guy, so I left a note. My good deed was rewarded by them not phoning. Maybe your writing is just really awful XD That's almost worse than no note at all!

you get the trucks ID number and go report to the cops and they barely accept your charges and they tell you that unless you have another car that can witness your screwed because the truck driver can always say he didnt noticed anything.

To Jkilla there is nothing you can do really, (give pics of the battle wound plz?) maybe just see if there is a color of their paint rubbed off and just keep your eyes peeled for cars that have matching dent/your paint on them. If its a small dent there are some tools and crap that you can buy and fix it/cover it up for cheap. Other than that it costs like 300 bucks for them to fix at a shop.

You pay hundreds, perhaps thousands a year and when you get into an accident you have to jump through hoops to get shit done. You might as well bank the money you're paying the insurance and save it in case you have an accident. Then again, that's illegal. Bad news Bey, it wasn't mayo. BAH. Unless you live in New Jersey, you have no right to complain about ridiculous insurance rates. My old company tried to get me to pay $9,000 on my old Spyder Eclipse when I was but a youngin (and it wasn't even in my name, I drove it sometimes) I had to pay $3,500 for a fucking 88 VOLVO and up until about a year and a half ago, was paying $6,400 for my 98 A4. Thankfully, karma finally got the douchebags when they goofed up my insurance info, which stated that i was 35, owned a house and had been driving 40 years. I sent them the correct shit and they never updated. Fuck you, insurance.

Repairing a hit-and-run through your insurance company should not affect your rates, but I'm not American so I could be wrong. Anyways, many insurance plans will contain an optional 'hit and run protection' or something of the sort. Basically, if you report the accident in a reasonable amount of time and follow the other rules, the insurance company will often waive the deductable (most or all) and you get your car repaired at minimal expense. But this might not help since the hit and run occured a few days ago. Often these insurance options are only valid for something reported within 24 hours. Anyways, the whole point is that you should contact your insurance company and see what your policy says regarding hit and runs. More than likely you'll end up paying the deductable to get your car fixed, which may or may not be worth it.

To make a long story short, I was assessed 0 liability and it didn't affect my insurance at all. Then again my car was so old I didn't bother asking for money, I just forced the other guy to deal with his own insurance company. So did I make out reasonably well because I didn't claim for the ~100-200 dollars worth of damage on an old bomb? (keep in mind I say 'reasonably well' because I put a humongous dent into a brand new Acura and took minor damage on an old car). You will never win making a claim. fucking idiot berkeley police moron pieces of shit that they are...had me hold yes hold on 911 for about 15 minutes, then takes my report and says she can't find that license number in the system. Fucking great, I got hit by a non insured skinhead mexican. Then she says a officer will be over to my residence in a bit to take an official report....thE faggot never showed up. wow. Fuck all hit/runners and the berkeley police. I wanted to kill something that day. Sorry for that rant, hit/run sucks and there ain't shit u can do about it unless the dude is in the system. Then who knows, i'd personally like to be there if the police actually went to the guy's house later and all that, it would be the best thing ever to just laugh in his face while he gets a ticket or whatever.
