Using PHP to Create Dynamic PDF Files

I've done quite a bit of Googling on creating Dynamic PDF files using php and have found some responses but none of which have really helped me. I was just wondering if anyone has actually used this first hand. I need to create a page that will automatically generate Award Certificates based off of information queried from a database. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

One way I can see of doing this easily is generate the certificate into html, then use cutepdf or a similar thing to print directly to pdf. With the right tweaks and settings you should be able to automate the whole process.

Have you used cutepdf before? I haven't done a whole of html -> pdf but I've tried quite a bit of pdf -> html and it never turns out right.

I already did this to generate some "states" for an university. I used "fpdf" to create pdf on the fly. basically you create your html page and put it into an "obj" then instead of displaying the html content of the obj, you juste put it on an fpdf object that will automatically render your html code into a pdf file. Very usefull tool and very well maintained.

I don't have the official website in english but i think you can find some documentation quite esaily.

Well cutepdf simply takes what output you would normally send to your printer and turns it into a pdf file, I think it works pretty accurately too. There's a built in PDF generator library in php too, if you'd like to use that: (http://www.devshed.com/c/a/PHP/PDF-Generation-With-PHP/1/)
