There are 1609.344 meters in a mile. That means if I maintained that speed for that long, it would take me 1609.344/50=32.187 x 7.7secs=248 seconds or 4.13 minutes. Of course a big part of the 50 meter dash is the start which is slower. I also have longer legs now than in third grade (can you believe that!). May be I should just go to the track and time myself again instead of wasting people's time here...
