If anything, I'm now forever creeped out by Laura Innes.

the reason they couldn't just teleport their planet to another solar system is because the planet had already been irradiated by their sun going super-nova. when the planet appeared in the sky the lower portion of it was firey and angry looking, it might just be how the planet always was, but i'm guessing that it is a result of their sun going super-nova.
they we going to kill the earth's population to make room for themselves. earth can't support another 2.2 billion people and there is no room for them. Then they drop this new info that even if they didn't kill us, we would die anyway during the event; which would occur when the visitors and humans lived on the earth together.....
Simon Lee begins to explain the event to shawn(sean?) and then the guy from heroes interrupts and everyone forgets about what agent Lee was saying..... wtf? then he says all the answers are on sean's scroll, which he's had for like a week and hasn't even thought about.
i really don't get how this kid who has been following along step for step with the visitors, figuring out all kinds of shit, hasn't tried to start figuring out what the old guy was talking about and what the old guy gave him. They've been globe-trotting and driving around the country, so there has been enough down-time for him to at least try to figure it out, but he seems to not care about any of it.
What's the deal with the president's wife? she's a visitor, and tells her son the planet in the sky is home, yet she helps the president who is trying to stop her people. I'm assuming it's simply because she loves him.
we better get some answers if the show never comes back.

I feel kinda robed after seeing it of my time. It started decent, just went downhill. Without spoiling anything, im not really sure what to say. Ill put a spoiler just incase (though i wont spoil anything i hope) + Show Spoiler + Plot is kinda shallow Contains quite some cliches End is really anti climatic.
With that said, if you're like me and watch every show you can get your hands on, i guess its a decent time filler

Fuck me. Literary well over 90 % of all tv shows I've watched the past years have got cancelled after 1-2 season. Getting sick of this shit. Sure the event wasn't the best thing ever but how tv channels expects people to tune in only to never get to see a conclusion is beyond me. Some of my favourite shows of all time have had so and so first couple of seasons while growing to pure awesome later. If they don't have the courage to give these kinds of shows a chance, at least make them more like a mini serie with a story arc that is meant for one season without any damn cliffhangers or unresolved questions at the end. Bah!

I feel your pain. I have had a lot of shows canceled on me. Thats why I try to stick to Cbs because they cancel the least amount of shows unlike NBC which is the cancel king

That really depends on your taste. I wouldn`t call it a huge disappointment but I can clearly see why it got cancled. The ending is kinda semi-finished, the old plotlines mostly get fixed while new once open up in the last second without any kind of explanation. So it is not really finished. Then again, if you got time to kill and don´t mind huge plotholes I think you can enjoy this show. I did, it is very silly at times, but not enough to kill the mood, so it is still kinda interesting and intense.
Some characters (I am looking at you leala..) are really annoying though.

alright now that guy went too far. 24 was epic. V was retarded. Event was in the middle with below par acting and decent plottage!

-1 cool point for you then. Almost all of the main actors are terrible.
In other news: The Event may be picked up by SyFy as a miniseries!
