Do people in Europe/Asia actually say; 'twenty fifth october two thousand twelve' or 'two thousand twelve december fifteenth' when asked the date? If they don't then in fact my 'american logic' makes more sense because the spoken matches the written, there is no arbitrary rule in place to change it.
What? Even people in NA sometimes say "twenty fitfth of october"

in hungary we use the "japanese logic" because thats what matches our spoken language. Why is it so hard to get that other languages say it otherwise? Also an idea, someone should make this: Japanese and Hungarian logic: family name given name vs rest of the world logic: given name family name

Actually no we don't say that, we say 'twenty fifth OF October two thousand and twelve', i.e the twenty fifth day of October of the year two thousand and twelve. Grammatically, it's more correct than the American way of saying October, twenty fifth day, year two thousand twelve.

Its actually depends on the language. You know, Europe has some of it. In Hungary we follow the "Japan way", so today is 2011.11.18. Some of my pics may be repost, all funny pics goes to same folder, sorry :C
