Just got this email a little while ago and apparently Hotmail has come up with another option for creating an email address. At first the only option was "ADDRESS@hotmail.com" but eventually they also got "ADDRESS@live.com" and "ADDRESS@live.ca".
The new one they just added is "ADDRESS@hotmail.ca" so that people can get their preferred email account as far as the actual address part is concerned. Now, the ".ca" are limited to those in Canada and if other countries got their own like "hotmail.de" or whatever the equivalent would be.
EDIT: Link isn't available on their homepage for some reason but the link is here

While the @live emails have been around for awhile, the @hotmail.ca emails must be fairly recent since I got the email advertising it approximately 1~ hour ago.

@hotmail.fr exist for quite a few years now. At least 4 or 5. I'm actually quite surprised that .ca are available only now.

I don't work for Microsoft (that'd be cool though) and yeah like Graham I just got the email a little while ago and I figured I'd go and get all the ones that I may end up using before anyone else takes it.
@ Horrde: Like it says above, the live.com and .ca ones have been out for a while but the hotmail.ca is new I believe.

Yeah, I just got this e-mail too, thought it was spam, and just discarded it, lol.

They used to have live.ca but sort of did away with it, you could still get one but it was really hard to figure out what hoops you had to jump through (atleast I had trouble finding out how to make a live.ca email) eventually I got one though.
One of the things I regret about gmail was during the beta, I just never registered my own name. I had all these stupid gmail accounts but it never occured to me to get my own name. It's just nice for real life contacts etc, instead of being like yeah I'm weedlord420@gmail.com hit me up sometime
|
lol, also put that in your resume and what company won't hire weedlord.
|
Whoa whoa whoa... hotmail.ca? What took them so long and who was in charge of this when we didn't have it.
|
Sounds bothersome tbh, i'm so used to just saying or typing myadress@hot..., but now i have to include the end in case i dont use .com?
|
Sweet, time to take all the names.
