Hang back defensively until level 6 to start ganking while last hitting? Farm up power treads first? Then go for Diffusal Blade? Screen->Blink-Backstab-Blink-Backstab? I'm guessing just one level of Screen since the slow and -Attack Speed is the same at all levels, and only the %miss changes. Thoughts? | ||

2 wraiths boots diffusal treads. Or treads -> Diffusal if you intend to be ganking more. (You go treads because you need the HP to survive vs the nukes and be more useful in team fights). Riki works excellently as both a carry and a ganking-carry because his invis + cloud often turns gank attempts against the other team + people often forget about him even if they have wards. Choosing when to make him a ganker and when to farm back and carry him is completely dependent on the lineups and what the other team is doing to you. Say there are heavy nukers in each lane, and they really aren't letting up on you and messing with your farm heavily. Also add into the fact that their team has the ability to push easily. It's quite common to see a riki get 2 or 3 wraiths + treads and gank/counter gank them (usually done with TP's / cloud initiate etc). (If you're stopping pushes max cloud/blink first with maybe one point in stab). A huge ass cloud is really, really annoying to play against. ;p But sometimes even vs heavy nuking ganking pushers, if they aren't messing with your farm it is perfectly fine to find a place to free farm and farm up a diffusal fast so that you can basically kill a hero every time you initiate on it. (If you estimate that your team has enough firepower to keep them at bay so that you don't end up 5 towers down to 0 while you're farming or whatever whereas a cloud may be all the difference they need in team fights to have kept every most of your towers up). Why it is ok, is because sometimes after this it completely demoralizes the other team saying, 'fuck we haven't really done anything and riki is buff as hell'. That, and you're buff as hell killing shit left right and center. Demoralizing a couple players*... as we've seen in inhouses, has a pretty huge effect on the entire team. | ||
