Character diversity is horrible (tons of mirrors vs. character switching within single matches last year), the crowd is almost not hearable, Seth/Jchen way more hype than Sajam/Jchen, excessive amounts of reverb on the commentators, less non asian crowd favorites... How are people that like SF5 as much as SF4 feeling about this years hype? nobody is gonna pull out crazy counterpicks and shit 5 months after the game came out, check vanilla sf4 first tournaments for comparison, those were goddamn horrible I realize that, but I think its still legitimate to compare the viewing experience of evo 2015 top 8 with 2016 top 8 and see how people feel about it. Last year was so great that chen and seth both friggin cried at the end, even I shed a tear at home. Im willing to bet nobody is gonna cry on stream this year.
people cried because it was last evo of a game that revived fgc, if there was no sfv everyone woulda just cried about elena being busted
not to mention, no1 cried when infil destroyed sfiv for the whole year either, just ban infiltration!

i don't know if i really liked watching elena healing her health bar to full values at evo last year.
i also don't know if i liked watching infiltration's dominantion with akuma vortex's either during ae

This would feel more hype if the crowd was closer and more involved. That is one thing I don't like about the setup they have this year.

At least I can finally get some work done. Spent half the day watching EVO instead of doing any real work.

EVO 2015 was an incredible fluke. Every series in top 8 was either ridiculously close or had some crazy reversal of momentum. You can't replicate that every year.
