Depends on who you think is big and who not. The best chinese players are the human trio of TH000, Infi and Yumiko, the Orc Fly100% and the Undead 120. To mention also Zhou-XiXi (nefl), I would say so. Most of them have been active for long now, but not such long as Sky or TED, both retired, TED streams and casts alot, Sky is also still existing, but not playing anymore.

There's a lot of the old guard playing. Infi, TH000, Lyn (just came back, Fly, Anyway, the big announcement is pretty sweet. I'm also kinda glad we know the name of someone who's actually on the team... I think it was kinda annoying that Classic games don't really have a community manager to talk to. I tried tweeting at Psione (since he's the one that announced the WC3 map rotation) but he didnt really respond when I mentioned WC3.

North American WC3. North America. I don't even think if we had a time machine we could get 2 good NA players.

The most they'll do is probably implement WC3 on the BNet launcher, and (hopefully) transfer the game to new, better servers.

I don't think they'll release some kind of special platform for the West. The most they'll do is probably implement WC3 on the BNet launcher, and (hopefully) transfer the game to new, better servers. China has the biggest warcraft population, still a pro scene, still health in it. Blizzard invested togeather with NetEase into the chinese client and the patch will most likely cater towards the chinese scene. Warcraft III finally go a chinese logo too. I think the patch will be global and for everybody, what I hope is, that NetEase and Blizzard bring the Netease client global with integration in the bnet launcher. But I dont think that will happen with 1.27A. 1.27A will most likely only get the game to modern tech standards, 1080p support, mac support, old bugs, maplimits, stuff, that needs to be solved if you want to further do something with the game. Maybe the first stage of balance changes. But 2016 could become a second coming of WC3, when they bring out the NetEase Launcher world wide.

As it could happen, that W3Arena will be broken after the patch and that Bnet becomes alot better, I think alot more people will be back on Northrend. We could join do some cool games.

If Patch 1.27A will bring Balance updates and you cant directy play these updates on W3Arena, then I see alot of people going to Northrend till this is fixed. No reason to play on old patch when the chinese allready grind the new one. We dont know what Patch 1.27A does and how much he will change, so we cant know what happens to W3Arena in the moment of release. I hope nothing gets broken, they can patch their servers and and we our clients and all goes along. But the history of Warcraft patches showed us that Blizzard likes to destroy old content with their new patches, maps got broken, replays allways break, why not also the 3rd party bnet client?

BTW the patch will only address some compatibility problems esp. with Mac much like the new Diablo 2 patch. It is confirmed that there are no changes to the netcode, widescreen or anti-hack capabilities (beyond being a new game version which reportedly breaks some hacks in itself) They say they will do balance changes etc. in future patches.
