Day Z: Persistant world zombie survival mod - Page 91

Last night I went on an epic adventure.

First up was meeting up with my usual group of Jochan and Maxster. The night before I had logged off southwest of Black Mountain after a brief firefight with two people (I killed one and the other server hopped to get the drop on me, but when I had repositioned he gave up and left, and it was late so I disconnected and went to bed). Jochan and Max were raiding the east cities and were in Krazno at the time, so I met up with them there. After raiding for a bit we head back to camp to drop off loot and regear, planning to hit NWAF.

Somewhere along the way we decide to hit Devil's Castle first, and that we should go around the north side of Gvozdno as there's a decent chance there's some camps up in the forest there. In the forest just north of the town we spot a pair of guys on an ATV powering through the woods. We take a couple shots but they veer north down a hill and we lose them. We decided that it'd be best to high tail it west since we don't really know the area and they probably live around there.

As we pass Gvozdno abstract turns up and we decide to meet up. The server is lagging like a mighty beast and half the people are on stupidly desynced time (I was at 4:30pm when server time was 2:15am). So the server restarts!

Now we all immediately decide to head south to Stary to look for heli crash sites since there are about 4000000 possible spawns down there. We meet up with Dark briefly and there's some confusion about my flashlight not being on for me or anyone in my group, but on for Dark (stupid flashlight), which nearly gets me shot in the face.

Dark moves on to refuel his dirtbike with awesome flame decals and we meet up with abstract. Then we split up. I go around the fields looking for heli spawns while the three of them raid Stary. I find no spawns so I go meet up with them again, and they've found very little. We decide to resume the original plan and go to NWAF, coming in from the east by way of Grishino.

I head to provide overwatch with my CZ while the rest of my group heads in. At this point we join forces with Dark and his partner, although I haven't seen them in hours. Dark is on overwatch from different a place while the rest of our guys looted the airfield. Dark called a spawn at southern barracks, outside all of our spawn ranges. We scanned and I eventually found a guy in a ghillie suit. Promptly took him out with 2 shots from my CZ. While guiding one guy to the corpse for loot retrieval someone else ran to the airfield with a horde and tried to hide inside the fire station. We immediately switched focus and moved in. After 10 minutes of positioning our raid team moves in to find a corpse and a large number of zombies.

Not much happens for a while and we are getting cold because it's been raining for basically the entire time. After a bit of trouble with some broken bones and bleeding, we move to the forest and get a fire going to heat up. Jochan and Max, being in Europe, decide to go to sleep now and log (something like 2am for them?). Dark's partner also logs, so now it's just me, Dark, and abstract (who I completely forgot about).

Dark decides to go looking for more helis and I call dibs on the other seat on the dirt bike. abstract goes and does something else now. Dark and I roam around the fields from Vybor to east of Stary...and nothing.

During this time another pair of TL guys have found something like 40 heli spawns and we hate them with a fiery passion. Dark also kills another TL guy because he didn't dance. When he finds out we recover most of his stuff and decide to take it to him. After a bit more useless roaming we see about a dozen people die inside 45 seconds, so Dark decides to restart again (after doing admin-y type stuff). More helis!

We continue roaming uselessly while the other pair of guys report that they found another heli (seriously this is the 4th or 5th they've found, including one inside Berezino) and are looting it. Then they come under fire from 3 heavily armed guys (M14, M249, and another guy). One of them kills one and wounds another. Dark and I decide to go help out and turn east towards the site, which is in the field between Gorka and Polona. For some reason we park the bike 2km away. After a while of hunting for the guys we lose them. The one guy who was killed only had an Enfield. Props to the guys who didn't log off either, was a fun hunt.

Dark and I forget where we parked the bike and go hunting for it (2km away fml). Eventually we find it. Now the guy Dark killed earlier reports he's in Kozlovka and we decide to bring him his stuff. We head southwest and long story short we break our wheels. During the long trek following the waypoint mostly it turns out that somehow we're only 1km from Cherno. We ride into the industrial area and run around looking for new wheels, which we find. On our way out we see a guy and shoot at him, but we miss and just continue on.

We arrive in Kozlovka and somehow Dark gets the bike on the roof of a house (how the hell did you manage that?) Needless to say I managed to get it off the roof, but in the process the wheels sort of broke again. So we meet up with other TL guy, return the gear we picked, and now call for help. Some other TL guys are happy enough to bring us some wheels so now it's just a waiting game. We raid the area a bit hoping for some wheels of our own, but none spawn. Other TL guy finds a heli site and we go raid it. It's east of Kozlovka and about 1km away. There's not tooooo many zombies so I start picking them off with my CZ. Apparently that was a bad idea, as the entirety of the Kozlovka spawn teleported to us and started rampaging. After a long while Dark is at 300 blood and lost aggro so he logs until we clear them, at which point both Other TL guy and myself say "hey we have frags let's use those". Other TL guy goes first and nearly kills me because he overshot the horde by 50m. Then I throw mine and the horde despawns. Also I overshot by 50m.

With no more horde we have time to give medical attention to Dark, who logs in. We get him patched up and transfused and raid the heli. I pick a Bizon and M14 and there's some other stuff too (a few FN FALs iirc). We attract more zombie attention again and now we've used up all of our bandages. So we ask the guys bringing wheels to also bring bandages, which they kindly agree to. Now we decide to hide and wait because we keep getting ourselves nearly killed and we aren't actually gaining anything for it. It's pretty late for me now and I have work in the morning so I log off in Kozlovka.


holy shit that's a big post...but was an action filled night.
