To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules;
  • Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
  • When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
  • No reposting of old material unless justified
  • Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
  • No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
  • Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
  • No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
  • No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
  • Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)

Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

I think that the difference is that these are held in Korea, therefore no Chris Brown cutoffs and 20somethings who don't care about kpop wondering what the fuck you're doing there.

But then you end up with the GsD ones where there are like ~100 Korean NEETs in their 30's oogling at girls.

Difference is with performance lighting; you can't see audience when you're on the stage. So the girls don't look frightened by the awkwardness of it all. Also I'm pretty sure the audience composition is vastly different in performance than it is in that GsD pool party event.

EDIT: Oh; I meant male NEETs; in my original post.

Could people here help me? Crayon pop is doing a survey on where they would do their first overseas fanmeeting.

Linku

Only SEA countries are on the list(Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia). Please help me and vote for Philippines T.T All I need from you guys is 2 mouse clicks

It somehow doesn't require an account to vote, 1 vote for each IP or something I guess.

Thanks~ You guys would notice that there are not a lot of votes in that survey, so every vote from you guys would really count and be appreciated

Japanese Shinee album completely underwhelming, my favourite song on there was Fire which they released a while ago.

I agree that it is underwhelming, its not really bad but I just wish they would do more. It doesn't help that only 5 of the 12 songs on it are songs that weren't on past singles, but that is something you always have to expect with Japanese albums. Also you can tell they really went a different way just to try and target the Japanese market with a few of the songs. Fire and 1000 years are both really good ballads but of course they have both been out for a good while. Kiss Yo is the only flat out bad song on there I think. I'm With You is a nice new ballad and Password is really really out there, kinda like prog rockish I guess? Not sure how to describe it but I do like it.

Here is Password for anyone interested, like I said the song is really different so random people may like it

I do wish though that Shinee would have atleast some songs with the same sound from their first album and the Romeo mini-album. I really like a lot of their stuff but there is no doubt for me that those 2 albums are their best musically.

I've used http://www.kpoptown.com/ and http://shop.soompi.com/ before, they are pretty much all the same.

Song's pretty good, maybe not as good as I hoped for after that 2/3 year hiatus; not an insta-classic like some of his older songs, but still, I really like it. I'm just really glad that he's back in the game

After 5 years of just lurking on teamliquid, I can't believe I'm creating an account just to rant about this specific topic...
As you may have heard or will soon hear, Se7en, Sanchu, Rain (Bi) and KCM were involved in that stupid after partying during military duty scandal.

Se7en, Sanchu: caught partying beyond curfew in regular street clothes using personal cellphones, caught entering two happy ending massage parlors, attempted to break reporters' camera.
- In their defense: "I have a bad back and a bad knee"
- Then why did the other follow you to the massage parlor? ... no answer..

Rain, KCM: caught partying beyond curfew in regular street clothes using personal cellphones
- First offense for KCM, but happens to be the 2nd for Bi in quite the short time period.

This is so royally frustrating every time I hear these kinds of scandals because it truly is unfair to the regular person serving in the military. All praise to my parents, I am lucky enough, as a Korean, to not have to serve in the military due to my citizenship status, but I have developed many friendships with numerous out of country Koreans studying in my city being unable to complete or further pursue their studies due to their military engagements back home.
From what I heard, EVERYONE in the military knows that celebrities get some kind of special treatment, whether small or large. The high officers know it, the government knows it and the public knows it as well from all the exemplified stories from past serviced men. (To put this in perspective, its like everyone knows that people pirate stuff from the internet whether small or large, but barely anything is done about it...)
Celebrities MC events, perform on shows (hence rehearse/travel, therefore less hours doing real military stuff), celebrities can easily lobby themselves out of hard-labor duties and go for the so-called easier duties, etc. (but SO many other examples).
As for celebrities who actually do decide to go through the things that regular healthy men go through, they still get special treatment, but on a very lower scale, but still, it makes your life easier nonetheless. For example, if you're a regular guy and happen to be lucky enough to be apart of a troop or share a room/tent with a celebrity, you will notice these subtle benefits and how it makes your life a lot more easier during those 20 months.

I just feel they should just stop with all the celebrity event mc'ing and performing b.s. because NO ONE in the military wants to watch male singers on stage. It's not 5 different songs of se7en they want, but just one minute from Sistar, 4minute, GsD, etc. In actuality, many people get annoyed when a male performer is there on stage. Hence, that would eliminate a lot of the unnecessary vacation time these celebrities get.

BTW: Kim Tae Hee needs to find herself another boyfriend because that dude is seriously tarnishing her almost perfect image.
And I expect some split announcement from Park Han Byul very soon, if not, that girl lacking some serious self-respect.

I think neither Kim Tae Hee, nor Park Han Byul will leave them, even though they deserve better. They've already been sticking to their boyfriends for such a long time, so they probably had to deal with a lot of sh!t before, I assume. You're right, nobody wants to see male performers instead of female performers, and celebrities shouldn't get special treatment. Let's hope that these events will change something about the whole situation...

Actually, I totally understand the army's policy on celebrities. Fangirls are dangerous and vicious, and if their oppa isn't treated well in the army, they might start riots and fight against the Korean army, which would probably lead to the defeat of the Korean army. The Korean army might have a lot of weapons and well-trained men, but every fangirl would literally die 5 times for their idol, their nails are claws waiting to rip out the eyes of any anti that they meet and they'd DDOS the Korean army with all their "LEAVE OPPA ALONE" messages. It's better for the Korean army to obey the fangirls.

I did something that I never should've done, and that was read the youtube comments and the allkpop comments on the articles/videos... someone should make a t-shirt with "all fangirls must die", cause the stuff I read... unbelievable.

Ohh okay. I kind of skimmed the last page, thought people were still talking about the song .__.

Yeah true enough, I think that's a pretty big part of why it sucked balls. Either way I hope it's not as bad as before @_@
