Since its just a side story, all it really serves in relation to Index is giving further development to various characters. Nothing within the plot of Railgun matters to what happens with Index. And if you go into Railgun expecting to see Misaka's side to certain events that happened in Index, well you are gonna be disappointed lol.

Should be fine, character development isn't usually a bad thing, unless the characters are terrible to begin with. ^^

Im getting major gay vibes from the Mikage dude. But it looks like Kagura got some badass elemental power awakened thanks to him. I kinda feel bad for Zessica, shes like the really pretty girl that cant land the guy she likes. I really wanna root for her, but Mikono was just unbearingly cute this episode + Show Spoiler +. Its almost a given that shell end up with Amata. But who knows? I wouldnt be surprised if they gave us a good mind fuck in the end. Im also really digging the contrast between Vega and Altair: Kagura fighting his way out of the dark-barren-industrialized city, while Amata is trying to confess to Mikono under a gazebo. I think its representative of how different their worlds and personalities are. And Mikono has feelings for both of them. Very interesting indeed. I feel like I need to watch Genesis to get a better understanding of their past lives if they dont explain it well enough here. Edit: I heard its also possible to just watch Railgun without the Index seasons? Cause thats what I plan to do. Im only in it for the school life aspect. I keep hearing everyone fanboy about Misaka, so I have to see what the big deal is myself.

I keep hearing everyone fanboy about Misaka, so I have to see what the big deal is myself. Maybe you are getting gay vibes from Mikage cuz hes practically the same character as Toma???? Anyway, thus far 90% the past lives of people has only been referring to their original incarnations, aka Apollonius and Celiane (or however the fuck GG has decided to translate it). The original incarnations were the incarnations before Genesis of Aquarion, so that would put them 24000 years before EVOL. Information provided on them has been sufficient in EVOL, and the original incarnations were just referred to as people from legend in Genesis, anyway. That scene with + Show Spoiler [EVOL 11 spoilers] + Mikage talking about wanting the rebirth of the "Machine Angel of Genesis slumbering in Vega" Toma was inside Aquarion at the end anyway I don't think there is any big need to watch Genesis just to understand their past lives. What needs to be explained, has been explained. Aka lovers in past lives. I guess the actual ending of Genesis will be significant, but its impossible for them to ignore a plot point like that when the time comes. I can almost guarantee you stuff with Mikage will be explained down the line, the character is too important for them not to. Everything else is just like hints for fans to figure out stuff on their own, like who is who. I think they made some stuff a bit too obvious (sup Kagura), but its not like that detracts from the show.

There's very few interesting shows going on, it seems. Apart from the last 20 eps of LoGH & Chihayafuru & Another ( which got pretty meh real quick) I don't know what to watch Is Natsume Yūjin-chō any fun? Downloading the Knight in the Area, just in case it's ridiculous.

I haven't watched the fourth season, but I'm sure it's good and Shauni can probably vouch for it since he likes it too.

Not that Index itself is great, but at least stuff happens in that show. Sorta. Watching Railgun without Index 1 is a really bad idea. Its designed as a side story, not as the main dish. Also its dumb and pointless to watch Railgun for the "School Life" aspect, since "School Life" is hardly a factor in the show (school life=/=slice of life), not to mention "school life" done is almost identically in every anime its in, so if you have seen a few, you have practically seen it all. It takes a show like FMP to do something different with "School Life". Pretty much this. On March 13 2012 20:45 HwangjaeTerran wrote: Uh, how long until the summer season? As for Aquarion, I wonder if there's a 3rd planet called Deneb. ![]()

New vol of Index looks so braindead and has no Misaka, I think I can probably just skip it with 0 consequences.

I was going to ask whether we're expected to know what's going on with Mikage and all his magical powers and apparent omniscience from Genesis or if it would get explained later. If only Index was even 1/100th as awesome as Tsukihi. Just thinking of Index makes me platinum mad!

Is it worth watching FMA first then brotherhood after? Or should I just go straight to brotherhood? I'm on ep 5 of FMA atm. ep5 of the original FMA...? Both Brotherhood and the original start from the beginning. The original anime has more filler/anime original stuff in the beginning, but its paced well and serves as good character development. Brotherhood goes past that alot quicker, and gets to material that the original anime never got to faster. You can go straight into Brotherhood without watching any of the original. Its not like Brotherhood is a sequel or anything, its a remake.
