Enies Lobby itself was a repeat of Arlong Park, so its not like Robin's thing was unique/original for One Piece. Both Arlong Park and Enies Lobby had plenty of things to differentiate them, and this one does as well.

Okay I got it my fellows. The Definitive OP Arc Matcharoo:

Logue Town = Sabody Archapelligo (AT)
Arlong Park = Fishman Island
Drum Kingdom = Punk Hazard
Alabasta = Dressrosa
Sky Island = Zou
Water 7/Thriller Park = Whole Cake Island/Wanokuni (happen simultaneously)
Enis Lobby = Reverie (both arcs merge into this one)
Amazon Lilly/Sabody Archapeligo (BT) = Raftel
Impel Down = Blackbeard/Revolutionaries resolution arc
War at the Summit = Grand Finale

I realize that some arcs are a bit out of order but it still follows the same overall scheme.

Sanji being forced into a situation very much like Robin was seems to be a natural progression for how much Sanji was cornered by the threats Zeff and the bombs on Sanji's hands. It still doesn't stop the situation from being heart wrenching, but I do hope Luffy remembers this has happened before and takes calmly knowing Sanji probably has a good reason for doing this.

It seems like an impossible situation so I'm sure Sanji will get help from both Reiju and Pudding, that seems to be the only way he can get the cuffs removed and figure out how to stop the threat to Zeff.

Yeah, Luffy is already at the end of what he can do. Sanji will beat him fairly easily, then leave them behind as he carries on.

Won't stop luffy of course, but it gives him time to let Nami reevaluate the situation while he heals up so they can interrupt the wedding itself.

If Sanji's intention is for them to not go after him there are better ways of doing it than make Luffy try even harder due to that obviously insincere speech.

"Please don't come after me or they'll blow off my hands and kill everyone at the restaurant." would've worked better I think.

i think sanji definitely wants luffy to come after him. i mean, everyone knows luffy isnt gonna stop there anyway. the robin line he gave luffy was probably to trick the vinsmokes and buy himself time to figure out how to deal with the threats

It's not like Zoro really does much with the sword in his mouth anyways. It's the rule of cool, other than adding an extra attack to his spiritual special sword moves he never actually uses the mouth sword to fight.

Sometimes, like, once in the tenth of thousand, Luffy is really smart.

Apart from that, it actually might be possible that Sanji loses one hand there, you know, Zoro style. He's lost one eye, why doesnt Sanji loses a hand ?
