And the explanation was that he did it to prevent a potential conflict between his family and the Leaf? So he just killed them so no conflict can arise? Then he killed dozens of other innocent people, served a criminal organization of murderers for ~10 years and helped delivering the strongest weapons (tailed beasts) to the evil mastermind. And the explanation was he did that to make Sasuke strong. Yeah, these are explanations but shitty ones. - The Edo Tensai thing you mentioned yourself. - The whole "Zombies fight their former friends" arc was very bad and boring storytelling. - fucking Sharingan. I am not even a Sasuke or Uchiha hater but come on, this is just way too much. It was already ridiculous before a few months ago but Izanami and Izanagi were just bullshit. I mean it is possible that Kishi comes up with something effing brilliant and we will be all like "oh how come we didn't see that one coming" but based on experience with his recent writing I expect it to leave many things unsolved or even flat out contradictionary. Especially those things that created the suspense in the first place. | ||

About itachi being good or bad, well it depends on your definition of bad or bad. Itachi cares about Konoha and his brother. The uchicha WAS staging a coup d'etat and that's why they were having the meetings and Itachi was the spy for the higher ups of Konoha, so he slaughtered them to prevent the massive civil war. He served akatsuki to keep an eye on them and protect the 9 tails. I think itachi and kisame only got 1 tailed beast and they would have gotten naruto if Itachi hadn't stalled taking naruto by using the excuse that sasuke came in and he beat him up. Remember kisame was talking about cutting off narutos limbs? And itachi just said nothing and tried to stall. | ||

Scuse me sir, but that was obvious since the Kakashi vs Itachi fight, when we first were introduced to Kisame.... He even smiled when Naruto bombed him with Odama-Rasengan. Can you remember the time when Hinata confesed her love to Naruto during Pain vs Naruto? Everyone was waiting for a conclusion. Kishi just dropped it right there... | ||

Hmm, I just re-read it and didn't find anything. When did Itachi tell Kisame to slow down? They just waited for a good chance to catch Naruto alone and it worked. But Sasuke appeared and delayed things (Itachi couldn't have known that). And if Jiraraya had been just a few seconds slower Kisame would have cut Naruto's legs off. I am still of the opinion that Itachi was designed as a bad guy in pre-Shippuuden Naruto and Kishi just changed it along the way. | ||
