If that's his accidental aoe ability, his serious mode aoe ability could slim the enemy down to just the elites too quickly. Another character like Erza (not saying she's as strong as him) might be able to fight him properly 1v1 without possessing the same level of "I just wrecked all of you at once" power. Which basically leads back to "we can argue all we want about who would win between Laxus and Gildarts, but there's a reason the latter gets far less screen time." Laxus being a (psuedo) Dragon Slayer has lots of precedents due to all the other characters with Dragon Slayer magic when it comes to the general 'aoe' ability he's likely to have, regardless of his ability to 1v1 someone. | ||

Too passive of a power, since you're just controlling someone else's power. Erza wouldn't need saving and mira has always been built up to be as strong as her. Mira needing saving from elfman is kind of weak sauce. | ||

In a one on one fight erza always kicks ass. Also, the way she was captured was by being duped and drugged, not by losing a fight.Elfman saving mira diminishes her fighting power rank now. I get that Hiro wanted to build up elfman to save the day eventually and especially his family, but he should be used to save lisanna, not mira who can take care of herself. Only way to redeem it now is if elfman gets stomped and mira reveals another hidden demon power up to finish off the fight. | ||

Mira is still strong in my books but I'm fine with her losing this fight, if it means elfmans moves up in the power rank. elfman isn't that weak imo and i'm glad he gets a fight to show that. | ||
