Universe has been slumping for 6+ months now but he's been mechanically great in the past. He's got the abilities somewhere in there but there's obviously some problem somewhere. I disagree. Universe has never been a top-tier laner, not even while EG were dominating the scene. His best attritube is timing for initiation, but Puppey's team (and the current offlane in general, really) require a more complete game. Of course confidence has put him even below his real level, but that doesn't come out of nowhere. PPD always accounted for his weaknesses, Puppey expects him to account individually for the drafts' iffy spots; it's a complete reversal of the situation. That's actually wrong, Universe was an absolutely top tier laner, especially in 1v2. He was a safe player and didn't often go for risky plays like iceiceice who could open the match right open or feed like an idiot but he is/was definitely very very good. To me that's the definition of not top-tier. He can coast through a simple game but he can't gain advantages where there were none to begin with (which is what the top-tier players do). He's top-tier at other aspects of the game but for someone who has been playing professionally since Dota 1 and never made any waves outside of ppd's cozy leadership people really liked to inflate him as some sort of higher being who was above Dota.

im seeing zai go to secret after ti6. on another note, great to see the puppey greed fail. he wanted an alstar team, now he has it, and they suck...you cant switch out players all the time, and think it will work.

They had enough lockdown that N0Tail never did anything in the fights.
Disruptor Aghs is actually a brutal counter to a lot of carries.

I remember when Sylar obliterated him at TI4 on a relatively even DS vs NP. Which ended up giving VG a 15min victory almost by itself.

Since 1999 they have only had 3 season where they did not either win champions league or the league title, thats pretty outstanding

Ok, so u remamber one game he got obliterated I probably should have said something els then "always"... Point still stands, he was usually a reliable 1v1 player, rarely lost.

I think Invoker QW instead of DP was a much better pick imo.
