Hopefully they learnt alot in those games to beat Liquid in the bracket :D Like i said yesterday - it does look great, but sumail played pretty much just Tiny this TI. They did get figured out. Anf pretty much humiliated vs Liquid. They got to find different drafts. They got the players, they got the captain. Hopefully can find the way.

I don't really think they need to find different strats. They know how to play the patch. All this stems from Liquid out drafting them a little.
The brilliance of the Drow pick in game 1 completely wasted the Lich pick. Then Sumail got out played against Miracle, in a Clinkz vs Tiny matchup which he has won before in the group stage.
I expect to see EG pick Earthshaker for Crit or Sumail, and then at least one Arteezy Drow game.

afraid it's gonna have to wait til next year (for everyone, not just EG)
liquid 10 miles ahead of the pack

maybe. there is a lot of rng in dota so you never know. liquid was almost an 8th place finisher last year, lets not forget.

Lol. Why are ppl so disheartened after just one loss in the group stage? EG is playing well. Let's just wait and see what happens in the bracket.
I'd rather take the loss now when the stake is low and make adjustments for the bracket than steamrolling all the way without knowing the limit.
|
I'm not disheartened about the loss, but we might end up with VP in Round 1 because of that, which would really suck for us
|
VP doesn't look unstoppable anymore though, so if the bois play it right winning is entirely possible. They have enough knowledge and experience on the team to adapt and shake things up. The games against Fnatic showed that EG is still one of the best teams at the tournament.
|
If you want to be the champ, you have to beat them all.
Neither VP nor Secret looks unbeatable. So I believe EG can do it.
|
The boys got a favorable bracket! Will only see one of VP or liquid and not until the upper bracket. They'll probably get secret first round and then vgj/optic winner.
|
And EG's bracket now looks much better lol. All according to keikaku?
The other bracket has Liquid, VP, and most likely LGD. It looks so brutal.
|
The bracket worked out kinda good, but every match will be a bloodbath anyway, no puches pulled. I believe the boys can come out on top. Bleed blue!

So, top 6 huh. Not bad for a team that everyone said wasn't gonna qualify XD

Haha yeap! Played so well, game 1 was crushing and game 2 was a very tough game and potentially an outdraft but Sumail wow so much damage and we won very well.

Before the final roster swap, there was a very good chance they wouldn't have. Even after the final swap, they had to find a way to get it together. They had, finally, by the qualifiers, but they went 4-3 in the Regional Group Stage. Immense amounts of talent doesn't mean a team is going to be good.
I'm happy for EG, though, as it's good that they finally put it all together. It was a rough year to watch them.

EG are playing so well! I think we look like the second strongest team here, actually a smidge stronger then LGD and VP. Exciting to see how far we go, Dota is complex game, and drafts might get important in these later stages, but EG are looking like team hard to outdraft.
Game 2 vrs Secret, damn game-winning blink dagger by Sumail on his Gyro!! Im interested to see how many times people bought blink on Gyro in competetive matches, I think its less then 1%. And in that match, I think it was the key item of the game. I actually want to give some extra prais for Sumail, I think his attitude to the game looks impeccable right now, looks like a guy who is determined to lift this Aegis. Im not trying to jinx anything, and I think Liquid are still fav to win it all, but damn this TI got so exciting for us EG fans. Its almost 20 houres since the game, and my blood is still boiling with excitement for the win
Im actually just rambling right now, so ill stop :D
BLEED BLUE!!!

Yeah I had very mild expectations for EG this TI, so it's been awesome to see them put up results. Across the board solid play. It's cool to see arteezy actually doing well, I don't think he's played this well in a tournament since joining EG (the most recent time...).

Well this is going to be a big test for them now..that is NOT going to sit well at all, i hope it fires them up more but having to avoid Liquid in the winners final vs PSG LGD i would have fancied them more there, now have a stupidly tough lower bracket run. Like i said i hope it fires them up but losing to OG like that is not good.
|
If they can come back and beat VP and Liquid, that would be amazing.
I still believe in Artour.
|
At least they get VP/Optic first, two teams they've historically done very well against (instead of Liquid)
|
It's going to be a tough run in the LB but hey it's TI, nothings going to be easy.
In the last game against OG, RTZ got shut down a bit too much in lane, while Ana wasn't shut down enough. Sod that they lost but they still have a good shot at top 3.
