If you cast an arrow mid-leap if it's within a 90 degree cone of where you're facing, then Mirana will start the cast animation mid-flight (this isn't limited to just back-arrows, but can also be done with forward-facing arrows in both DotA 1 and DotA 2). The back-arrow abuses the case where when you start the animation, the target point was in front of you, but is now behind you by the time the animation finishes, so it shoots it backward. When you try it a few times you realize this because there will be times where you turn properly but the cast animation didn't start till you landed. Doing it successfully results in the animation being partially completed by the time you land. The execution is the same as the DotA 1 back-arrow, even though the end result is different. The only real difference is that in DotA 1, the arrow is simply launched at the target point out your ass (and Mirana couldn't turn more than 90 degrees during her leap), while in DotA 2, Mirana turns midair to match the direction of the arrow, But you still save time because of how the cast animation is being performed during the leap. | ||
