Even Scattershot is decent as it damages towers, kills creepwaves very well (400+ damage for full duration).
But it so hard to describe how much hate you get if you pick sniper. If your game isn't perfect, you get blamed for pretty much everything that goes wrong. I can see why he isn't an amazing competetive pick, but the amounts of hate you recieve really sucks. It's far worse than with any other hero i've ever played. I feel you, Sniper is also a guilty pleasure of mine as well! I think there is definitely a stigma attached to a sniper pick because he is extremely popular with new players, for all the reasons you have stated as well as being a deceptively simple hero (pure autoattack at extreme range? yes please!). So a large proportion of Sniper picks tend to be new players who then go on to feed because Sniper is squishy as hell with no escapes. Then when most people see you pick Sniper they immediately have you down as a noob who is going to feed :D
you can actually do an enormous amount of juking and stuff with sniper because of shrapnel i've gotten triple kills in 1v3 situations from running around trees and using shrapnel to create distance to ulti/auto ect that being said, i haven't done it yet in dota 2.

The patch notes are out, the dota 1 version are out, valve less than a week ago said that next dota 2 patch would be special. Why shouldn't the patch be ported over?
With the patchnotes out I would think most pros would want the patch to hit so they can try and train with the new version instead of using heroes they might think they wouldn't need to use all the time after the patch
Well it sounds logical and should work that way but we don't know how much involvement of valve to dota1, technically there is none because you dont see 'Valve' anywhere in PD's official info etc.
And (dota1) tournaments traditionally use 'stable map' which is always at least one or more versions behind the latest map. May be things change this time around but like i said don't be disappointed if 6.75 took awhile to arrive dota2 (ofc they will make it come to d2 asap).

A lot of tournaments stopped differentiating "newest" and "stable". Chinese tournaments started using 6.73 right away, for example, even though 6.72 was still the "stable" version.

In fairness the gaps between 6.73/74/75 are large so people just couldn't wait for changes. Things changed this time around for sure.
Strangely Wagamama stream not on TL. He is making his gyro 3 divines, team mate Void with MoM+5hyrperston and furi with 5 divines lol
furi died and dropped divines everywhere lol (he had 850gpm)

Waga's stream is listed on TL but it's just not featured for some reason. Dunno why since he's so awesome
|
drop 9 divine rapiers on the ground in enemy base -> win the game
|
Gyro and BH are the only heroes inside the game that could have rapiers as their legit core build...

I think you could make an argument for the new Alchemist. His farm speed is gonna be silly, I think.

hey does anyone remember the config command to make the world render in a lower quality, as if lowering the "render quality" slider below its minimum? the hud stays the same.

There is a problem i have with alchemist, its not about the hero but about the misconception of people playing him. He is supposed to be an initiator ganker, not a carry farmer. If you wana win with alchemist, you have to max stun first with not more than 1 point into the Gold buff skill. The reason is his Stun deal PHYSICAL damage which will scale HUGELY early game with his 1st skill + medalion. Once you got the early lead, buy phase boot + dagger and you can pretty much pick off any loner from 8 to 15 mins mark or the game. Late game you either go pipe + tank item to tank up or you get eul+DPS(mostlikely deso+AC) to do Pushing DPS. This concept should also be applied to meepo since i see a lot of people farming with him once you get level 6.

Alch has 1 BAT with lvl 3 ult. ONE. The integer between zero and two. If that's not a reason to spam farm with him, I don't know what is (except maybe his new greed).
Also, in that style he is outclassed by a few other melee carries:
Tiny - we have seen how hard he can carry, yet he hasn't received any direct nerf to the blink roaming style you are suggesting. Far more nuking power, more utility, more reliable stun, and yet faces the same problems as alch (no armor being the major one).
Slardar - pretty much made for this style. High MS through his abilities, better -armor...
DK - not a very powerful ganker is he? Yet he has a relaible stun, a good nuke and HAS ARMOR. He can actually stand in mid and get levels solo. Which, for a ganker like that, is compulsory - Being levels above who your ganking, or at worst, on par, has a huge impact on early-mid game ganking. Alch can't solo a lane except maybe vs passive laners.
And meepo does gank early-mid. Often he is behind though, and one of his strongest points is farming XP REALLY quickly.

also i re read your post, nothing really make sense to me... if you wana write it differently so i could understand your point you are trying to say?

And meepo does gank early-mid. Often he is behind though, and one of his strongest points is farming XP REALLY quickly. what is BAT? Base Attack Time. Basically the base attack speed which any % AS you get modifies. Having a lower BAT improves the effectiveness of any attack speed you get. The normal BAT of most heroes is 1.7. Having a BAT of 1.45 notably contributes to Anti-mage's effectiveness (and having a BAT of 1.35 in 6.72 made him absolutely nuts), and having a BAT of 1.5 is why Windrunner has more ability to be a secondary right-click DPS point than other similar heroes lategame.
And, as pointed out, at rank 3 ult, Alch now has a BAT of 1 which is absolutely bonkers. Every point of attack speed he gets gives 70% more practical gain than it would on any other hero.

His point is that Alch's base attack time is very low with his ult on, compared to other carries, this makes attack speed items scale very well with him. In this sense you would want to shoot for late game with lots of items on alchemist where you feel the hero has advantage. He then lists several similar style carries that does this.
The wisp buff makes tiny wisp better, and 4 bans in phase one instead of 6 makes it easier to get as well, I can see that as a nice pocket strat for those that know how to play it.
Slardar and DK's main advantage over Alch I feel is their early game killing potential, especially their access to a reliable and instant stun. Also, they increase the speed of entering late game by either killing towers fast with poison dragon or killing roshan early with amplify. I feel they are easier to fit into a team compared to Alch, who really should only be farming early on, since he gets money from the quantity of creeps he kills.
Meepo to be honest is not very viable, his level and gold advantage comes at the expense of his team, and pro teams will ward and deward well enough that you would be hard pressed to gank efficiently, while at the same time his weaker meepos will be susceptible to burst damage, earthshaker and lion being notable counters to meepo, stun+ult easily takes down the non-main meepo.
