Another would be Mirana. Even though Arrow takes some time getting used to, it's like Ashe's so if he's used to her it should be okay. Mirana has an escape mech and a good animation, IMO very good things for beginners. No mirana is even worse than drow in a sense of being a beginner hero. If you played drow in newbie game then you can still own hard when the game is dragged to late game (albeit you are going to die alot rofl), even without item drow hits hard while mirana on the other hand is completely useless without items and her ulti is useless with newbie team. But then any hero works in newbie game. Just pick or try out whatever you like, i look at the agi heroes grid and i dont know who to recommend lol. Somehow i think Luna is the best for beginner.

Wut o_O Mirana can technically even be played as a support... She's totally fine without any items. She's got a really good animation, 600 range, one of the best escape mechanisms, a skillshot he should be familiar with(Very similiar to Ashe's), farms well with Starfall, etc. I think she's just about the best ranged agi carry for a beginner.

The words "skillshot" and "beginner" don't really fit in the same sentence. Also beginners will die many times due to fail leaps.

You know he said he used to play League of Legends which has more skillshots than DotA2, right? Not to mention playing the same role that I play in LoL You really are mistaking a LoL player for a player just starting to play games like these. Every champion in LoL had 4 spells, that's a terribad argument. If he plays AD carries like Ezreal, Corki, Ashe, handling Arrows should be very doable. Leap might take a second getting used to but seriously...

Dota they are far more diverse and complicated. Mirana is a terrible first carry, actually playing "ranged carry" in LoL is MOST Akin to playing a position like prophet or antimage/spectre ect where you spend the majority of your time farming and a small percentage actually interacting unless where forced or where the opportunity is there to get a kill easily.

If potm is the best range carry for beginners then troll warlord must be the complete opposite.

The real reason of me saying mirana is not a newbie friendly hero is pretty simple, i speak from my experience. Shameless epeen showing pix: + Show Spoiler + The bottomline is, he can go play mirana for 20games and come back to tell us if he enjoyed his games where he had 0 impact to the games. oh lol ninja'd by alot of you above me xD and ye even troll warlord would be better than mirana for beginner.... I want troll so badly suddenly....I am so gonna do the dual bashers again for the lolz.

Leap might take a second getting used to but seriously... I'm not the guy who mentioned about the 4 active spells on Mirana. I don't know a single thing about LoL. I have watched less than 2 minutes of LoL in my whole life (probably watched 1 minute during MLG Raleigh). So I won't know anything about how many skillshots there are in LoL and about what role you play in LoL. To me, people new to Dota and Dota2 are all beginners, regardless of whether they came from SC2, LoL or having no experience at all. I'll treat HoN as an exception, although not many people play that game anymore anyways (I think). And I'd give all of them a simple hero to work with because there's a lot of things to get used to: Items, other heroes, neutrals, pathing and juking, Roshan... the list goes on.

Mirana is a hero that someone with a LoL background can absolutely jump into and learn a lot playing, but they will lose quite a few games on her during that period of time. Suggesting Lich or Skeleton King like someone above did are pretty shitty because someone could play a ton of games with them, and maybe win a lot of them, but not learn a lot about the game that they didn't already know.

Yo with good observation and good reading skills (during the game), playing the first 20games as Lich would be the best learning process!

I don't see high arrow rate as a requirement at all, most of the time you should hit them close range or after a disable anyway. Rest is a bonus. She also can carry games and she can escape ganks really well.
