This was from my blog, I got banned but had idea why..
"Yeah this happened about 2 days ago on iccup, it was very early in the morning right before MSL, me + cube + GTR and a bunch of other guys from IRC decided to play an FFA for fun right before the lineup of MSL games.
About 3/4's the way in the game I get that anti-hack message and it says I've been disconnected, I'm pretty sure I just had a memory dump or something and it thought I was using a hack but I obviously wasn't, so after the game it sends me right to the gateway menu, I didn't think much of it because I wanted to watch MSL. So I watch MSL then go to bed, I wake up and I can't log in to ICCup, I posted a thread in the Tech support forums but haven't gotten a response in 2 days and I STILL can't log into iccup. I can also supply the replay if people want it.
This has happened before in the past before I reformatted my computer but it never IP Banned me, so now I sit here banned for nearly 3 days and I need help, if any admins or if any1 else is experiencing this false positive bug or w/e it is please post here."
And currently I just figured out from 1 of the head admins that my CITY was IP BANNED.. WHAT THE FUCK? Has any1 had this problem??

I'm a pretty competetive player, I'm B rank on iccup and I was practicing with good people recently, then I get fucking banned for 3 days and haven't played SC since.. no1 plays bnet anymore so now I'm stuck doing nothing in my free time. usually if a city gets banned it's cuz of a very serious offense like admin abuse or something.. that sucks, dono what i would do if my city was banned for a whole season ;O maybe u can try changing ISP's or something? or try to connect to iccup using hotspot shield? idk
From what I know iCCup only ipbanned cities if they found someone was map abusing (changing things in the map and playing the map on ladder). This started appearing last season and the head admins decided to ipban the abuser's whole city to deal with the problem.
i dont know why the did that, if there are hackers there have to be other way to solved that problem and not banning an entire city... they are abusing of power

ICCUP is one of the most corrupt places you find in SC, and the shitty thing is that the people with the most power there are the most corrupt, and since they are invaluable to the community, there is literally no other alternative to it.

Fundamentally, banning hackers is useful for all the people who want to play safely. However, how can lokiM play if they do something like that? There's a contradiction.
One big problem is that iccup has no reason to please its users. If they could accept donations then there would be meaning in keeping people happy. The real villain here is Blizzard obviously.

What they did to your city is just the most stupid solution u can think of if u want to prevent abusers, it is more harmful for the community than a single hacker taking away some points from players that wont even play them for a second time after being victims of any kind of abuse. If you want iccup to be free of hackers and abusers make your antihack better instead of banning a whole city. Of course people outside your city wont boycott iccup because their are not affected by this ban, but i think they should, because there is not doubt anybody could be in the next banned city-district .
This makes sense to me. If there was a criminal that can't be pinpointed, but it's known what city he lives in, the police should use this technique as well - just arrest/charge the entire city. This way you're sure to get him. =D Problem solved. The end justifies the means(LOL).

I think the reason so many individual complaints like this that seem illogical is because obviously there are a ton of fuckwits who make similar complaints trying to get their shit unbanned when they actually did something wrong and believe they should be unbanned when obviously they are tools. Not only would it be a bit of a waste of time having to inspect everything so thoroughly to sift out the BS from legitimate stuff like this but in the same way stupid admin decisions annoy you guys so too would idiot ladder players annoy ladder admins.

I get capped after X number of gigabytes downloaded which makes SC impossible for half a month or so, so a month really isn't that bad. There's probably nothing you can do about it because once a decision is made it is a general rule that it is not looked at again once agreed upon (so as to keep things running efficiently or something?).

Top players were getting penalised for breaking a rule and everyone wanted exemption for them just because they had star power. Anyway, you would want cities with good players to be IPbanned for equality? I am not particularly in favour of the decision made here but I am yet to see any good alternatives...

Would the admins responsible for this really have banned an entire city's IPs if it had a well-known player there because it got annoying to deal with a handful of abusers around him? Why should IdrA's personality come into this, not being fair is what this is all about and granting a 'boys will be boys' excuse to someone is very unfair. Also there are probably repeat offences, and as long as the ladder boys are consistent in banning people for similar disrespect shown towards an admin I am all for it.

Just because it was one person (which I knew it was) doesn't mean it is the save as every other case, and you have not been extremely specific or detailed here so I was humouring the possibility that the one individual did something worse than others in order to warrant a different response from the admins.

A player can complaint about other person BM behaviour making complaint on Report BM forum here on iCCup. the penalty for this kind of behaviour is Command Group 1 removal, meaning a person won't be able to use any command (e.g won't be able to whisper any one, use friend list etc).
The first offense results 1 week cg1 removal.
The second offense results in permament cg1 removal.
The Third offense results in permament lock account.
What we don't penalty in that forum:
— discers,drophackers (its not considered BM behaviour)
— BM behaviour in private clan channels (againts an admin can be penaltied)
so he got your Group1 removal?
I think its not a good rule since it´s about ppls opinion when BM starts and when it stops, beside of that its even more stupid that the admin handles his case by himself, ppl tend to abuse it ...

Just 1 comment. You copy/paste the bm against other player. You need to click in "Rules". Also, if an admin is insulted, he contact me and I take care of the case. If someone insult me, I directly apply the rule.

I have a hard time thinking anything good about ICCup, not just due to this but many things before. I know iccup admins put in volunteer effort but a lot of them really need to take a good hard look at themselves and ask themselves who they are.

i know exactly what it is, map rigging etc, i've played vs it a lot of times =/ it hasn't changed one bit, therefore useless, hopefully this can contribute to iccup's decision although not likely

This whole incident is pretty ridiculous... very disappointed in how iCCup is handling this. Yes you are a free service, so is TL. When we make IP bans that have collateral damage we rectify the mistakes made. It would be a travesty if this ban is upheld tbh

I just IPban 1 time, and it was in the season 2. You are a lier, after your statement, you added some insult, and thats why you were banned. ICCUP owners really sucks. I know some admins dont agree to the ip-area-ban, and i think Cheloman made a strong point. He dont change it because its a decision from someone superior to him. I think, in truth, he not agreed to the idea too much.

well, speaking seriously. 1st. There is not such a measurement as "the city" in terms of IP. It has only IP's, ISP range etc. So assuming that we banned the whole city is pretty weird. 2nd. When we applying such a strict measurments as banning ISP (only me//chelo//yelloant have the authority to do so) we firstly check the number of users this ISP have. If we have more then a dozen of active users using this range - we are trying to find another solution. This exact ip range had 10 active users, so only 10 users were affected. 1 of them is a person responsible for this, one is the op, which i thinks deserved this ban also. two out of 8 remaing ppl contacted us, we were able to unban one of them. Now you can still dispute whether the tear of a child worth all the good in the whole world. 3rd. this is a temp ban, for a few weeks. As i remember noone cried when Telia Network "accidently" blocked access to iccup for almost the half of poland for 1 month(?) i think 4th. we ofc can use e.g. a cd key ban or some other ban features, but ipban is the best, since not everyone can just avoid it. 5th. it will be great if TL start their server, so all those retarded idiots from us east leaved us for the good. I think we will be able to just autoredirrect evryone from US to their server.. Its a shame yelloant denied the proposal of moving server to korea and making it korea citizens only :-D 6th we really don't care about anything. This whole story is a tad disappointing speaking of I did have a recent probably the most frustrating experience in a public tourney (did not realise it was public) with the most stressful players I had to deal with, my opponent bm'ed and reported win even thou he lost eliminating me from the tourney etc. I cried for help in the channel, 3 admins running other tourney where there but didn't respond to me but later player who hosted fixed it.
Later me and other guy played finals and I technically won the tourney 2:0 but there was so much shit going on with the other players for 4-5 hours one match got stuck so I could not report the games and the guy who hosted it was long since offline. I had asked an admin for help and it tried to get a tourney admin in but it was 6-9 in the morning and I had played/mostly waited around 7-8 hours since tourney actually started. And so okey first it's we can't do anything about it "at the moment" and the next day there where 6-7 admins and he just says I told you yesterday, we can't do anything about it.
So I immediately was like fuck it I guess public tourneys don't have price money anyway I don't want 1000 points and so I forgot the whole thing and went off gaming but it's just annoying to give me the illusion you can help me just not now and then not at all.
For the record I don't have anything against/a grudge with any of the admins, just doing a litle rant because It was a rather stressful/annoying experience.
This thread is hilarious. Hackers are the least likely to be affected by ip bans, as most of them know how to use a halfway decent proxy, change their ip, go wardriving, etc. Also, the majority of the people playing on us east are korean. I don't really understand it, but that's the way it is.

Everytime an iccup admin makes wrong decission and refuse to change it, even though whole world knows it was wrong, he justifies it with words "ICCUP is for free thus we can do WHATEVER we want" followed by "you are whiny bitches and we don't care about sc community at all". no1 plays on bnet anymore or any other private server, every1 plays iccup.. unless you're a new player and only play casually then you play bnet

Well, not sure about yelloant, but i don't definatelly. We made evrth possible to bring you a competitive server, but you all just whining all the time, so we lost motivation for self-improvement. Without a real competitor we started to set up some goals on our own, which were pretty easily achived (like 3 000 users online ). But what is this for? community don't need it, so we don't want to spent our time for nothing also. All you want is just whine. whine about admin solving your complaint for three days instead of a nanosecond, whine about the fact admin didn't give you 30 pts cuz of motw change, whine about some system flaws. Some users even describes some non-existing stories about admin banning someone for 4 pool game(are u seriously beliving this lol). But noone tries to help to make it better (well, someone does, but this is just a few over thousands), all just whine, so at some point i just stopped bothering. You may hate me, my attitute, whatever, but if you at some point ejoyed our work - iccup, we are even. whatever, this is just random thoughts, i will sum them up in sum time and will blog it ^_^
p.s. you may change the thread to smth like iccup banning not just cities but countries, since i just banned zimbabwe.
i think this post makes it clear that you are a horrible admin and a horrible person. You should not be running this ladder.
Banning 10 people to punish one. I could hardly call that exceptable. In my opnionin punishing just 1 innocent person for someone elses act should not be done.
