The minerals are rock candy cupcakes, the vespene geyser is made from some leftover cupcake stems, the drones (which, alas, got too large while baking) are sugar cookies, and the larva are gummi larva. | ||

This cake was made with 2 pounds of homemade marzipan, chocolate cake, lots of food coloring, some pineapple life savers (jolly ranchers don't come in yellow?!? :[ ) and three days of time.
