I'd argue it's your repeated inability to grasp my actual argument which is "quite stupid".
1. This is why I vote. 2. This is why I'm voting for Bernie Sanders. 3. I can't be the only one who hears Al Pacino from Any Given Sunday at 4:40 in the above video, when Bernie's voice is hoarse...

We will have to see if his ability to pull in viewer translates into votes. People also slow down to look at car crashes, but I don't think they would vote for one.
One could argue that Trump negotiated an extremely good deal with SNL. The jokes were all mild enough to not be a big deal, but firm enough to give the impression that he can take a joke and all that sorta thing. Portrayed confidence, charisma, etc.

Remember when he got Roasted on Comedy Central? The jokes were obviously much more raw and caustic, but I think Trump came out of even that as a good sport.
Israeli and US government officials are hoping to patch up battered relations between the two countries when Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu visits Washington this week, for meetings with Barack Obama and leading Democrats.
In contrast to recent fiery clashes over the Iranian nuclear deal, the leaders will hold discussions over a $30bn military aid package to Israel and try to put their increasingly bitter disagreements behind them.
US officials played down hopes of progress toward a two-state solution to the Palestinian crisis. The White House is under pressure from liberal activists to show that it can influence Netanyahu on settlement activity.
“Obviously, there are occasions when we’ve had disagreements and that’s well known about this past year, particularly around the Iranian negotiations,” US ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro told reporters in a briefing.
“But I think both Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Obama are clearly focused in the meeting that we’re preparing for next week on looking forward, and in so doing, there’s a focus on a lot of areas of common interest and convergence.”
Unusually, the focus of the trip is less likely to be two leaders’ meeting at the White House on Monday than a visit by Netanyahu to the Center for American Progress (CAP), a leading liberal thinktank, on Tuesday.
CAP, which has extremely close ties to both the Obama administration and the Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign team, represents the heart of a Democratic policy establishment that Netanyahu needs to win back after his divisive speech to Congress in March.
The University of Missouri responded to a bunch of racist incidents against black students with some handwaving and non-action. The state’s AG suggested that the school form a task force and take the issue seriously, which has not happened. Students protested and now the athletes, including football players, are getting involved with the blessing of their coaches.
It’s the standard person in power doesn’t think that racist issues are a huge deal or signs of a larger problem in the thing they have power over and a lot of people in that structure disagreeing.

People smeared poop in the shape of swastikas on the wall. Verbally assaulted black students with racial slurs, so on and so on. From reports from the protesting facility, it’s been an ongoing issue for years with the problems being glossed over or ignored by the president of the school.

That's not exactly compelling stuff worthy of all of the present hoopla. I'm guessing that your description isn't doing this justice.

Listening on NPR this morning: Lots of instances of people people driving around, yelling racial slurs at black students. Then there's the swastika stuff already mentioned. You know how every time there is some racist thing that happens at a university, there is some giant email the president sent out to the whole school about how racism is satan? That never happens at this university. The president ignores it and doesn't wage war against racism. Every single other school makes a huge deal out of racism and makes it clear that these racists are unwelcome, shitty people. The president NOT doing that makes the minority students feel neglected and ignored. These guys don't feel safe at their school and the president isn't actively fixing it. I think it is a fair critique.

The hoopla was about the school not doing anything about it, not the actions themselves. The zero response, this doesn't matter attitude turned the facility and coaching staff against the president. What did you expect them to do if no one is listening to them?

I hadn't been following the story at all until late last week, and now I see that the president has resigned. None of this makes any sense to me. I would think that there'd be a record of what exactly went wrong somewhere (ie what the university specifically ignored), but I haven't been able to find any information on that point. So I'm legitimately curious as to what the university did wrong and thought that y'all might have some information. So far I'm wildly unsatisfied.
