I can't discredit ZerO's potential, but neither can I Savior's experience. I predict this will be tight.

I don't see any bisu in sight so MJY should handle this easily.

This is a pretty meaningless match due to the nature of the matchup you cant really make any real presumptions about what will happen, nor will you likely be able to conclude anything after the dust clears.

Watch the phenomenon that was Jangbi vs Bisu Clubday MSL finals
PvP is also said to be a "rock paper scissors" matchup
I think, the player with more skill will take the game

Savior has been in much more clutch situations than ZeRO
He has also been in more high-pressure, situations that zero
i'm not saying zero sucks, more like savior is a better player

I'm sorry, but Zero is the MORE SKILLED player in this matchup. Savior has better game sense, better late game macro.. but none of them means anything in ZvZ. In ZvZ, micro reigns supreme. And Zero micro > Savior micro.

So saying that skill can break the paper-rock-scissors randomness of ZvZ applies to Zero, not Savior.

I'm interested to see if Zero will get hit by nerves. It seems to have stopped recently. And anyone who thinks that "New Player = lose game 5" must've forgotten a particular MSL game 5 which Savior got pwned by a noob.

Zero is nothing compared to Mind. Mind is a much better player skill-wise and mentally.

Are you saying you can predict the future and knows Zero's career path from here? Or are you saying that Mind was actually favored to would walk over both Savior and Bisu to win GOMS3MSL due to his "skill" and "mental fortitude" back in 2007?

What I'm saying is that I don't think that Zero has what it takes to win an MSL and play consistently for a long period of time.

Why not? Nobody thought Mind could pull through vs savior/bisu and win the MSL, either.

I am really excited that savior is at least somewhat back, but I agree that his strengths are his game sense and his clever macro. Unfortunately these are both minimized in ZvZ. Too bad his MSL run hinges on such a "rock paper scissor" match-up.

finally a voice of reason

Savior is showing a shadow of his former skill
rather than the polished shiny savior of 2005
he is showing a new dirty GET 'ER DONE KICKASS CUBAN GANSTER VERSION 2.0

Savior is actually a better player than he was in 2005-2007. He's just playing against players with much better mechanics (Flash, Jaedong, Bisu, etc.). So, he has to make up for that with his game sense, which will be minimalized by the ZvZ matchup. Zero really isn't better than Savior at ZvZ imo, so that's why I think Savior will win.

Exactly. I don't know why people say Savior is a shadow of his former self. Savior not dominating doesn't mean he's playing worse than before, it's just that competition has got much harder... although I'm not really sure if he's in fact better than before, that could be debatable.

its difficult

while I believe he is right now playing near his old peak, there should be no argument that his games before the last couple of months during his slump were anywhere near his skills at his peak. Not even kind of close. The difference between slumping savior and prime savior are ridiculously obvious throughout the game.

If you want to say hes playing near his prime over the last two months? go for it.
You want to say hes actually been playing at his prime in practice for 4 months, but just chokes on tv? Couldn't agree with you more.
you want to say those tv games during his slump are a representation of the skill he had as bonjwa? fuck no

I have a gut feeling that either MJY 3-0 or he loses, both with about equal chance.

also zero is a really really good zvz
his stats don't do him enough justice.

I would certainly put him in the top 5-6 zvz
If this was a bo3, I wouldnt be confident, but I think nerves will play a bigger role in a bo5. Savior should win.

Mind was really young back then (15 or 16). Making the MSL Quarterfinal at that age shows that you have great potential. Also, another advantage that Mind (back in 2007) has over Zero is Nada. I think that Nada had a huge influence in Mind's success in that MSL. Mind must have really talked to Nada a lot about facing Savior. However, GGPlay's ZvZ is worse than Zero's ZvZ. Zero has nothing to learn from GGPlay. Unless Zero moves to Hwaseung or CJ, I don't see him becoming a big name because he isn't young (by progaming standards) and he has no great mentors.

Zero's pretty good from the VOD's i've seen but i believe that savior will win. Savior from what i understand has higher skill level, game sense, and management, but ZvZ is so unpredictable. But Savior is the maestro after all, he may have just composed another ZvZ masterpiece.

I have to say a lot of times i feel that practice partner teammates are overrated. I mean how can you explain bisu's excellent PvZ, FBH's abysmal TvP, and Flash's TvT/Z/P if good teammates to practice with is related so much to a player's skill in a MU?
