Here are the matchups for scforall's Stamina Tournament. This promises to be an exciting tournament with an incredible match, ClouD vs IefNaij, in the first round. The top prize for this event is $300.
When the VODs come out, they will be linked to. If the match only goes to two games, the game 3 link merely goes back to a random vod.

Does anyone know if those matches will be commentated by Artosis and Super Daniel? Or only a few selected ones?
|
GOGO Datoby & merz & Target !!!!
|
This will be soooo nice!
Chinese players will probably rape everyone tho. They are monsters and i dont really see anyone taking them down.
Im guessing F91,RushGooN(Never) and Jaystar in the top3
|
I think only selected games will be comentated

oh alright i see. thanks for the information

Dreiven, Dinot, Cloud, and JF are definitly four of the strongest players in this tournament and two of them will be gone by the first round. Also, Arew just barely missed qualifying for this, I really like his style its a pity he did not make it.

nick u obviously don't have a clue.. what about the chinese mofos

RushGooN kinda raped JF pretty easy in MYM vs Fnatic, i dont think he's a match for either him or F91. Phoenix went 3-1 or something vs DinOt, his TvZ is really sick.
Dreiven however performed well vs F91, i dont think he would take him in a Bo3 but there's a chance.
Not saying they cant win vs the chinese, im just saying its more likely that the chinese players will win.
|
The chinese are good, but not invincible. They are non-koreans after all ^^ It will be an interesting tournament.
|
Personally I was lucky with the brackets! I might have a chance all the way up to Jaystar.
|
I think F91 will win. I'd be surprised if anyone can take him down. Iefnaij may have a chance but I think F91 is the favorite.
Ohhh didn't know Never was Rushgoon. I think the Chinese players will dominate for the most part except maybe lbh cuz he's a nub.
|
I also have a question, the races that are in here is final? People are not allowed to switch race or anything during the tournament?
|
Do you people even read AT ALL? He said OF THE STRONGEST, not the 4 STRONGEST. But yea does sucked that they were matched up, especially cloud vs jf. The poster nick whatever wasnt neccesarily discounting the Chinese players as being weak or anything.

I love how in the beginning of the Stamina tournament kawaii was at the lead then suddenly all the pros started climbing up the ladder. The Chinese players also started pumping out wins and is it me or there's lots of more chinese players now? Also is AccordV6 irda? Players Akas?
Will the replays be out after the tournament like always? I really want to grab all the terran replays and start practicing build orders for these maps. One more thing, will the VODs be hosted at SCforall.com?

One more thing, will the VODs be hosted at SCforall.com? The Chinese players were active because they were preparing for PGL and because Fnatic had just been formed. No smurfing was allowed. Replays will probably not be released, since they were not released after Spirit. Yes, the VODs will be hosted on SCforall, but if you had problems with that site in the past you will probably have fewer problems now since the videos now load before playing.

Did they not let LS participate in this tournament? And yeah FT.aCt)Love is pretty thug, good job if it's actually him.

Man, that's why I was asking, if there's only a note about Fenix, does that mean everyone else have to stick to their race? Cause there are several other racepickers in the tournament.

it'd be kind of unfair if they couldnt pick their regular mus

Thx for backing me up man. Yeah I was just pointing out that these players were matched up. If it was Jaystar vs F91 or something I would be saying the same thing. The Chinese players are very skilled and my statement was not meant to disrespect them. They are probably favored, but it would not be very suprising at all to see them lose against the more skilled Europeans and North and South Americans.

wow, nicer pole than i could have made. a few errors though. from the spirit tournament, ClouD, Machine, Fenix, and HanDy were all seeded into this tournament as seeds 29-32. Also, Fenix is a P only player now.
AccordV6 is a Korean who lives in USA.
also, there is a cash prize contest for guessing the top 3 correctly.

yup very true. I am just offering my perspective.. and I think TvP has been what has stopped you in WCG etc.
But I'm glad you posted. Not entirely fair for me to make it seem like my P owns you or something.. that isn't the case.

Awwwww, Ahzz was so close with #34, just a few hundred more points and he would have made top 28. Ah oh well. Can't wait for this tournament to get underway, looks like it's going to be great! I'm very excited! Btw, where do we guess the top 3 at?
Btw, wow first match cloud vs iefnaij, too bad at least one great player will get eliminated so early on Didn't cloud say he'd stop playing after WCG? Well, I'm glad he's back! :D

what stopped me ( ALWAYS @ WCG) was my PvT, not my tvp I did beat naranjito at wcg once but unfornately never faced fenix, or darki at wcg
anyways, Ill try to show some gg's I've been practicing for this event, and ill continue doing it this week :D

I think he did quit for a while. Recently he played a showmatch vs tot)naugrim(, and lost 2-0 I believe. He then proceeded to flame naugrim on the gg.net gosubet forum. Here's the link

lmao! there's lbh. He has played horrible in the PGL. PsyonicReaver claimed him as the worst zerg he's seen. XD
|
Well we can't blame lbh for his bad performance in PGL since it was his first time participating it. He did pretty well losing a lot of series 1-2 though not to mention it's actually freezing in China which is why you see heaters at the computers even Strelok complained about the cold which I believe is why he looked so bad vs Orion . It's very hard to play sc when your hands are freezing. Lbh has achieved stats of 57-18 playing mostly koreans so you can't really say he's bad. I believe he will atleast proceed to quarter final
|
I wanna see some F91 rampage ! I just love to watch him play.

F91 is pretty much set for the semi-final, his side of the bracket should be no problem for him.

Why did SuperDaniel quit retire from SCforAll? I read the interview and unless I missed it, he never says why.

These are some really nice matches. Expect some great things from Smacker, Maix (*if* he can manage to beat Phoenix, which I think he can), and Naugrim (sorry Ret). They have a good chance to win, even over the Chinese players. I think all of these games are going to be really good, I can't wait to see who ends up winning. Sucks that Dreiven has to play JF right off the bat, that series would make for a really nice semi/quarter final.
I'd also like to see Xiaozi do well, however, I am not sure how in shape he is for this series. I guess Tidy is a good opponent for him to show us, but after that series, Xiaozi will definitely have to play at 100%.
As I said, these matches are going to be really exciting. It's pretty tough to predict who is going to advance. I can only pick my favorites.
GL HF~
edit: Also, Ahzz

I think Ahzz could have made it had he not played so many Korean. A little dodging would have ensured a top 28 spot.

LZ and Chosen in first round? One of the Americans biting the dust early. Also, there are a ton of good match ups for this, but I feel it'll be the Chinese stealing the show this time.

I'd gladly give up my chance at winning 500$ if it means i don't have to waste 5 minutes of my life playing a ZvZ. Insta-leave as soon as I scout in case it does happen.
too bad I'd random vs random anyway.

Anyone who was asking about AccordV6 being Love, it's not him. I think someone already said but his aka is supposedly NaH_Respect, terran-playing Korean-American. There are replays on nascl.net of him vs yoon etc, pretty sick play.

I think as long as they don't reside in Korea they are fine

why are all the MYM players in the same part of the bracket (especially 3 in one semifinal bracket)
|
its not team tournament so they can be in every part of bracket
|
On January 09 2009 23:23 ]343[ wrote: why are all the MYM players in the same part of the bracket (especially 3 in one semifinal bracket)
Well the format goes like #1 vs #32 #2 vs #31 hence why you see the fnatic players placing at different side of brackets. They were all ranked #1-#5 in the stamina ladder. MYM players probably didn't care about the bracket so it's fine to them as long as they qualify.

I'm surprised that Shauni 2-0 OctZerg and really impressed at the same time. It seems that all his hard work and practice really paid off because he is showing impressive results lately.

Ret has decided to give jaystar a w.o after losing game 1 and does not want to play game 2 under the same lag conditions which is quite a shame . so 2-0 for jaystar

just like tagomago :p 0-1 then w.o games not playable

Wow, dreiven making 2 decent upsets. Is he still semi-inactive? Taking down an active dinot would be tough, and then following that up with a 2-1 over pheonix is awesome...The BBQ must be strong today, and smells of tasty victory.

I'm confused, it was posted up above that Never=Rushgoon but isn't Rushgoon a protoss user or has he always been terran?

Rushgoon has always been a terran user, ironically. But yes, Never=Rushgoon

thoughts: + Show Spoiler +not that i blame jf for using the most abusive builds possible, but it made the games pretty boring to watch. still though, great play by jf to pull it all off and to pretty much dominate all tournament. hope to see more in the future!
question: is JF the undisputed top foreigner?

Foreigners dont play enough tournaments against each other to be determined who's nr 1. I think Nony, Mondi, Strelok, JF, White_Ra and a couple others could beat each other in one day and lose in the next.
